Theme:

Monochrome is traditionally black and white but we like color. And so do you... but this challenge might change that. xd Each of you has been randomly assigned a color to use. Use any shade of that color you want (mono means one... so don't go sneaking in a second color) and make us a stellar mono-color avi.

This avi reminds me a lot of the other gold avis that have shown up throughout this competition. It's good, don't get me wrong, but I'm just a little underwhelmed by it. There's a lot of shades of gold you used but most of them aren't all that balanced, which I think might have made the avi look a little better.

i feel like i've seen this avatar multiple times. its so bland and boring. its unoriganal. the same items used over and over again to make a golden avatar... its all so expected. i figured you would have made something a bit more suprising.

There aren't many teal items on gaia that look very good together. That was rather difficult...

I'm a tad disappointed in this avi. Teal is my favorite item to use on Gaia so I'm really familiar with it. I don't feel like you used as much of it as you could. There are a ton of shades but you stuck mostly to the bright bubbly aqua-y tones. Adding the darker tones of teal would have created some more visual interest and cut down on the negative space of the white skin. This avi seems more like just an outfit than an overall look... if that makes any sense.

I love what you did with this avi. You used a ton of tones of orange and some items I normally hate but made it work. The balance is there, the visual interest with the textures you created with layering. I'm very impressed with what you managed to come up with.

i hate this avatar. the layering is nice. & it fits the theme; but it looks insanely noobish. it may be the carrot, the ears, but it all looks ooberly noobish to me.

This is one of my least favorites from this round. It gives the impression of grape candy and that's great... but the layering and bulky items you used are disappointing. It's got the color down just fine but it's boring. There isn't anything interesting about the layering. It doesn't look like it too a lot of effort.

i like the over all apearance of this avatar and it really does fit with the theme, but... it looks quite setish. perhaps its the over use of the veil. i know you only used it twice but the way that its layered, or lack of layered. it looks as if it were more.

Pink is a hard color to work with as so much of Gaia's pink selection is that super pale, almost white pink of the Egyptian skirt. I was sad to see the slip of actual white into it with the tea time dress and the touch of gold from the biancamella corset, but it's still a well done avi. There's balance to it with the tones which a lot of the other avis lack. I'm just not terribly fond of the urn bird in the background. It's not quite pink enough in some spots and distracts from the avi you made.

like nav pointed out earlier this avatar is not mono colored. there is pink. its not just the biancamella or the waitress dress though when i double glanced i noticed that the onlyu items that dont look white, have the tint of white or that have white in them are the rat tail, the tights and the jenny shoes. now tints of color are one thing and i think you could have gotten away with but items such as the urn, and the waitress dress or even the second layer of shoes is really risky. like i said in the thread. this didint take many points off but it is quite bothersome. another thing i think you should watch out on is the layering of the shoes im confused at weather its cute or if its just sloppy.

I'm impressed with the richness of the browns you used in this avi. It does look deliciously chocolaty. Something about the face irks me, though I can't put my finger on what it is, exactly. What I really like about it is that at first it's not very impressive. A lump of poo... but when you stop to look at it the layering becomes obvious and you did a great job with it.

dan you really have your own style. and im not a big fan of it. lately i think its been evolving into something better though. at the beginning i thought you were afraid to simplify things. which was killing you a little. lately you've been coming up with great designs that are a bit simplified than your old ones. i like this one because its simple. but its also layered well and you can tell it had texture. though im not sure if it still has the simplified look because its all one color or because its truely simplified. i guess what im getting at is that you should make sure to balance your avatars.

It is very green... but the choices in shade, items, and layering are not stellar. It's too blobish and has too much going on with the competing shades and snot bubbles.
