Azula lounged under the large fallen tree, resting. She missed Haru but lately, she had been too tired to go far and look for him. Ark visited her every day, bringing some food with him. She ate whatever he brought, along with the dropping fruits from the trees nearby but she was always hungry. Or at least, she used to be. She looked at the three pups by her side, using a hind foot to bring Aura closer. They were born as the night turned to dawn, and, without Ark nearby for help, she just named them on whatever she saw, which happened to be the shifting sky. The oldest was Shade, then Ere, and the last pup was Aura. Or at least, that's what she called them. Their full names were Shadow, Erebus, and Aurora, the results of her attempt to try and use longer words. She sighed and curled around them. She could move without getting tired now, but she didn't want to leave them. It seemed her search for Haru would have to wait a bit longer.

Ark had just entered the Eastern territory a little after day light. Victoria was sleepily at his heals. She didn't often come to see Azula, more or less just sleeping and lazily hanging out in the neutral grounds. Ark had three squirrels dangling in his jaws. One for each of Azula, Victoria, and himself. He saw the line of tree that hid the-soon-to-be mother of his children. He'd wanted to spend the night with her last night but she protested and told her to go tend to Victoria. Ark couldn't argue with that.

Azula turned and growled instinctivly when she heard someone approach, her tail curling around protectivly over her new pups. She immedietly stopped when she realized it was Ark and he'd brought Victoria with him, today, too! Perking her ears, she whined softly to tell him where she was. She was still hungry and she poked her nose out from behind the tree, trying to see if she could tell what he had brought today.
Shadow, woken up by the noise, yawned wearily. His eyes were still sealed shut, his ears floppy. He tried to get closer to the warmth he felt in front of him, but he tripped and tumbled away. He whimpered pitifully where he fell, trying to crawl around, now knowing where he was.
Azula, alarmed by this, leaned over swiftly for her pup but missed, her reach too short. The movement accidentally caused her to crush the other two with her and she backed away, unsure of what to do. Flattening her ears, she padded to Shadow and picked him up, placing him with the rest of his siblings.

Ark was curious, unsure of Azula's movements he quickened pace, leaving Victoria behind him confused and really uncaring. He charged towards her, slightly frantic and froze when he saw three small puppies laying on the ground, whining and waddling about. His jaw dropped, the squirrels lifeless bodys thumping to the ground. "You-you..gave birth?" he asked in disbelief and regret that he left last night.
Aurora felt her body pressed into the ground and whined, not enjoying it one bit. Her tail flicked about angrily and she made grunting noises to what ever it was to bug off. She could only feel one of her siblings by her and, slightly worried, she whined and whimpered for the other one. She could hear him close by and, in the pursuit to find him, waddled around blindly on the ground. She soon felt him placed beside her and in attempt to 'teach him a lesson' for scaring her, she began chewing on one of his floppy ears.

Azula sniffed her pups, making sure they were all ok, before laying down next to them again. She dragged a squirrel closer to her before looking up at Ark. "Yes." she said a bit defensivly, unsure of what his expression meant. Finishing off the meat quickly, she again sniffed her pups, worried that they might be hurt by her previous movements. She gently nosed Aura until she let go of her brother's ear, then proceeded to lick them clean.
Shadow stuggled feebly when he felt a dull pain in his ear. All he could do was make loud yelps until the pain dispeared and something warm covered him. When he felt the warmth leave, he yelped and it came back again. Huh, so if he made that strange noise he would get what he wanted? Well, he didn't have long to think about it as he soon fell asleep.

Aurora smelled meat breath from the a large wet object nudging at her aggravatingly. To deal with the nudging, she stopped the mini assult on her brother but as she did, it was replaced with licking. This, she enjoyed, thoroughly. She rolled on her back and grunted happily, dangling her arms at her chest and curling her tail between her hind leg. It was very comforting, hopefully ritual thing.
Ark was stunned, but it wore off at Azula's wary expression. "I-I'm so sorry I wasn't around!" he nearly yelled, guilt ridden. By then, Victoria had caught up, half asleep and she suddenly seemed to burst with shock. It didn't take long before she lunged forward and stared smelling and staring at the pups, studying them.
"These are the things we've been waiting for??" She asked to Azula, her eyes wide with delight. She stuck her nose to the lightest one and nudged it gently. Aurora grunted at the interruption of her bath time and lazily swatted at it for it to shoo.

"Hmm?" Azula questioned, looking up. "That's ok." she said, licking the pups again. This was her first litter and she didn't know what was normal for other helixes, thinking this was what everyone else did. She stopped when she saw Victoria come up. "Hello Victoria." she said, smiling and wagging her tail. She licked Victoria's nose in greeting before shifting a bit, so she could look better. They were all 'pups' so it was ok, right? And they were all.... She looked from Victoria, to her pups, then back again, panicking. "Ark," she called, turning to look at him, "Why are they so small?" she asked, motioning towards her pups with her tail. Weren't they supposed to be the same size as Victoria?

Ark could help but let a few quiet chuckles escape his mouth. "There new borns Azula dear. They must be small or else, it could of hurt you.." he slowly walked over, hovering over Victoria down at them. They were in fact small and so fragile looking. He really wanted to lean down and nuzzle them but he was nervous that Azula would snap or bite him. In his old pack, the mothers would let no male towards them if they had new borns. He'd attempted to stop Victoria but he knew Azula would never hurt Victoria purposely.
Aurora whined as she was left alone, gathered between her brothers. She didn't like her bath had ended so soon and grunted and squeaked, her tail batting the ground.
Victoria giggled at the pup and flopped down on her stomach, still staring at the tiny little sausage link looking fur puffs with tails. She used her tail to tickle the darkest one's nose, seeing what he would do.

"Will they always stay this small?" she asked. She remembered her parents were huge and she wondered how big they would have been now if they were still here. She looked at Aura when she squeaked and, thinking she was cold, she wrapped her tail around her. She looked at her second born and extended her tail to wrap around him, too. He had moved a few times at first, but now he was motionless, except for the small rise and fall of his chest, and she was worried.
Shadow, brought out of his slumber by a strange ticklish sensation on his nose, grunted a few times before moving to try and get rid of whatever it was. Still uncoordinated, he ended up going towards the tail and he sneezed loudly. He sneezed a few time more before making his yelping noises again, knowing that anytime he did that, he'd get what he wanted. Azula, hearing this, gently used the tuft of her tail to push Victoria's tail away from his face. He was glad to feel the sensation leaving and he crawled closer to the warm being, snuggling his nose against it so it wouldn't be irritated again. This one had a different scent and was much smaller but he stayed where he was, fearing another sneeze.

Victoria grinned as the little pup curled himself aginst her chest and softly snored. "So cuuute!" she smiled more and nuzzled the little thing closer to her. She was much bigger than him, on the very of her teen stage.
Ark smirked and chuckled as the pups acted out in there personality's. "Have you named them?" Ark asked after a moment of silently staring at the little ones. His eyes flinted from Azula to each pup repeatedly, not wanting to miss a moment.
Aurora felt her body pressed against a warm and fuzzy body, much bigger than her or her siblings. Instinctively, she pulled herself whining to her mothers stomach and searched for something to suckle. She was quite hungry and slightly weak from her rampage on her brothers constantly.

"Yes. Their names are Shadow, Erebus, and Aurora." she told him, motioning to each one with her muzzle when his or her name was said. After a while, she repeated, "Will they always stay this small?", worried that he didn't reply because the answer would be bad. It didn't help when suddenly, Aura started pressing against her, whimpering. Hoping to comfort her, she made slight petting motions with her soft tail tuft for a while before returning it to Ere.
Shadow grunted a few more times before cuddling closer to the soft form. Sure, it wasn't as warm as before, when there were others beside him, and the scent was strange and unfamiliar, but at least no one was bothering him and it was warm enough.

Ark smiled softly. "No. They'll grow to be our size." just then, he finally noticed Azula. Really noticed her the way he had when they'd first met. "You look like you've matured.." he told Azula, smiling softly still as he spoke. Slowly, he walked around Victoria and his children to lay next to Azula, protectively nuzzling against her side. He rested his head on her shoulders, leaning over to the watch the puppies.
Victoria couldn't help but giggle at the little one. He was so cute! "Which one is this one Azula?" Victoria asked smiling over to the new mother as she nuzzled the small pup in her arms. He truly was tiny.
Aurora suckled food from her mom, guzzling up what she could. She didn't know when the next time she could have this rich and sweet fluid again.

Erebus had been rather quite and just not to interactive. WIth all the sudden noise and movements though he whined out a little. Not really with any purpose other then to make his presence known. He couldn't see anything... nor could he really move or do anything.
( I'm not to good with newborn things XD )

((Lol, ok.)) "He's Shadow." Azula, said. She watched as her youngest pup came closer to her and sighed, resting her head on her paws. Ark wasn't that heavy and his warmth was kind of comforting, actually. Her ears perked up happily when she heard her second pup whimper and she gave him a reassuring lick. She was still tired from the recent events and she nudged Shadow closer to her, curling around her pups and snuffling them, as if to make sure they were still alive. Only when she was sure that they were all safe did she close her eyes and fall asleep.Shadow gave a soft whimper when he felt himself being moved but he soon calmed down when he could feel the same familiar warmth from before. Once again he was squeezed between the other forms and although it was slightly uncomforatble, they radiated warmth. He snuggled in deeper, shoving his other siblings out of the way roughly and fell asleep. -Fast forward a few months IC-wise- Shadow sneaked around his mother's back, lifting his head up cautiously to peek at his father before hiding himself again. His mother was resting and his father was a few feet away. Grinning excitedly, he leaped -- or at least tried to, it was more of a scramble and an oof! -- over his mother's side and pounced on Ark's back, trying to scrable up to reach his ears.

Ark was - er had been, in a light sleep and very tired. Shadow, Aurora, and Erebus had been some horde to handle now-a-days. He just laid there, grinning, and continued to pretend to be a sleep. Even for dramatics, he faked-snored a little.
Aurora yawned with a squeak as she woke up, curled next to her mama. The camotion shadow was making with romping around on the ground had awoken her from her nap time. She fluttered her eyes until her vision was correct and she could make out Shadow trying to scale papa. Grinning, and feeling the urge to join in, she bounded to her feet. (Very poor balance issues were obvious.) She charged at Ark's head and leaped. She tackled it, missing slightly as she rolled down his forehead and snout and nipping on his paws while she landed on her back. "Papa!" she squealed happily.
