I only played the Melee version on the Gamecube.
Great game.

I had a blast with the first one. Spent a good chunk of my life on Melee. But Brawl was mostly a letdown for me.
I learned to like the competitive scene of Melee and Brawl just didn't live up to my expectations. Though it is still a fun game, just not as good as Melee.

I never got into the competitive scene of Melee, so that`s probably why I enjoy Brawl the most.
Seems faster to me, and I really enjoy being able to grab items on the run.

Haha, and it's pretty much the opposite for Melee fans. Brawl is so slow and floaty to us.
And if you were good at wavedashing, you can sorta grab items on the run in Melee too. Though, if you were wavedashing that good, you wouldnt be using items anyway. Because items are not used in tourney play.
That and you can pretty much DI out of all combos, making comboing against anyone with skill basically impossible.

Well, I tend to turn off smash balls... they disrupt the flow too much, and then when someone gets one, it's either "OMG GTFAway" or "Ah s**t, he's uber powerful and invincible, I'm boned."
