What is your opinion on curfews?
Here where I live the curfew is 10:30 PM to 6:00 Am from Sunday to Thursday. On Friday and Saturday it is from 12:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
Do you think this is right? Or is it wrong? Does it limit freedom and oppress the teen population or does it protect the community.
Do you have a curfew? Do you like it? Does it help? Does it hurt?
All in all what is your opinion on curfews and why?
Not the most politically important thing but oh well.........

Well, they sort of make sense...bored teens out at 1am can spell trouble for the surrounding neighborhood. I think it's kind of pathetic though that the cops and the government has to basically be the parental figure rather than these teens' parents. Parents should be the ones enforcing curfews, not cops.
I had a curfew, but it was enforced by my parents. Only recently has my hometown instituted curfews. When I'm home, it is a lot quieter in the wee hours of the morning. I was alright with my curfew, but then I was sensible and usually wanted to be in bed by 11pm or midnight anyway. Now I'm in college, and...there obviously is no curfew.

I never really needed a curfew because I usually don't get out that often. But that curfew wouldn't work for me caus' I leave at 5:30a.m. to get to seminary in the morning. Curfews would be nice... if they were enforced upon.

Curfews are out there to help protect us!! I don't really have a curfew... my parents decide when i have to be home based on who i am with and where i am ging and so forth! They are not really strict , but not really lazy aobut it. As long as i call before, and i have a good reson; they will let me stay out longer!

Ok, curfews help establish the boundaries a child can go to. They ensure that the child be home so they can't paticipate in untold behavior. If not, the parent can take away rights from the child until they deem the child worth of their trust again.

I think curfews are a great idea. Why: Your parents trust you more. They know your ok. You get some sleep. and it helps you about being a parent one day.

angelmage99 I think curfews are a great idea. Why: Your parents trust you more. They know your ok. You get some sleep. and it helps you about being a parent one day. I agree with you 100%!!! But this is a good examle to explain my theory thingy (or a great chance to put up and arguement)... you can't teach what you don't know. So if you want to teach about gymnastics you must do it... if you become a parent it's easier to hold you end up when you know what happens when you go out without cerfews... thus you must do it yourself to know what to expect and how to deal with it.

I don't have one. Mind you, I have no life lol. If I'm ever out at night, I'm with my bf or at the dances so my mom doesn't worry. I just have to let her know about what time I'll be back and what I'm up to.
Depends on where you live and what you do (as in do you have plans the next day or something). And it depends on the person.
