~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Marth walked quietly through a forest, his amber eyes shining in the dim moonlight that shone through the thick trees, only to shine more once he was out. The dim silver light making his olive tan skin a bit pale, his long black hair fell just below mid-back length. He began to hum quietly as he came to the lake, a small smile curled up onto his lips as he quickly walked to the water. "Finally, maybe now I can have something decent to drink." He knelt down onto one knee and cupped his hands together in the cool water, the air around him becoming chilly from the water, but it felt so good on a night like this. He placed his hands to his mouth and drank the cold water, some of it escaping down his lips and neck. He got another handful and splashed it onto his face, sighing happily as he did it once more. "That felt great!" He sits back and looks up at the star-filled sky, the stars and moon shining brightly, one could gaze to them for hours till the sunrise. "I love nights like this..." He said to himself quietly, he wore a black shirt that fit to his chest and stomach, black pants that clung to his hips but became loose around his legs and feet, and on his feet he wore his black boots, normally worn for his traveling...which was almost constant.
((Yeah yeah...but the tag is needed. Feel free to change the rest of the titles, though.))
The night was calm and quiet, and the only sound to be heard was crickets playing in the grass, accompanied by the distant sound of owls hunting. As always was the case nights like these, Narieriden felt the urge to sing. Looking around, amaking sure noone was near on the road she walked on, she first began humming to herself, trying her vioce. She was no great singer, but her voice was decent enough, and who was gonna hear her singing this time of night?
As she travelled, taking a few dance steps to accompany her singing, she came upon a lake with unmoving chrystalclear water.
"Wonderful!" She exclaimed and kneelt in the grass, taking a handful of water. The water was cool and refreshing. "That felt good...."
Marth began to stir a little once the sound of a female voice could be heard, the two black cat ears on his head twitched and perked up, sitting up to look around. "Who's beautiful singing is that?" He wondered, it was then he spotted the young woman who was dancing as she sang. He smiled softly as he kept himself hidden so as not to frighten the girl, watching her as she went to the lake, laying back down to watch the sky again.
Narieriden let out a sigh and smiled. She looked down into the water and studied her reflection for a brief moment. Her long black hair hang down her back in a loose braid and her eyes shone as brightly as the summersky, matching the sapphire in her forehead, making her dark skin seem even darker.
The dress she wore was simple enough. It reached to her anklets, almost hiding her boot covered feet, and was dark blue in color with a silver pattern of roses and vines on the chest. The sleeves had an unusual cut and revealed metal and leather bracers on each wrist.
"Time to go...." she sighed and stood up, suddenly noticing a glimmer on the other side of the lake. Imediatly she was on her guard, shapening her sight to see what it was that had caught her attention.
Marth let out a quiet sigh as he slowly stood up, brushing a few stray strands on his hair from his face to look around, starting to hum quietly before starting to walk, the daggers at his side reflecting the light of the moon.
Narieriden watched as a figure emerged from the shadows of the forest. The moon glimmered in the daggers by his side, and Narieriden gasped in surprise. Then anger filled her heart, and she clenched her fists.
"You again?!" She said to the shadowy figure across the lake. "Have you followed me here as well? Give it up already, I've told you, you've got the wrong girl! Didn't I beat you hard enough last time? Are you looking for revenge, maybe?"
Nari gritted her teeth and tensened her muscles. Silently, she touched one of her brachers and it glowed dimly with magical light and revealed a ornamented dagger which she grasped firmly.
I only need one dagger to kick your a**.... she thought to herself and began to run towards the figure.
He blinks, somewhat of a shocked look on his face as he turns around, his eyes wide. "Eh?? Oh!" He began running, grabbing out a dagger to defend himself. "Gah! What have I done!?"
"You know perfectly well what you have done!" Nari cut of his escape route and attacked, clashing his and her daggers together. "Followed me from island to island, from town to town.... and no matter how many time I've told you I've -proved- to you that I am not the one you seek, you still keep bugging me! Give it a rest, bounty hunter!"
She pushed him back and took a firmer grip on her dagger before attacking again.
"I don't even know who you are lady!" He backed away, not really looking foward to a fight at the moment, running to the lake using one of his powers to run on top of the water. "Gaaah"
"Don't you dare run now!" Narieriden took a swing at him, but he was already on the other side of the lake. She frowned.
That's a new trick he's learned.... she thought to herself. Well, he is not the only one...
No! You aren't gonna-. A voice in her head exclaimed as she gathered her powers.
Oh yes I am! I'm gonna finish this, once and for all! And with that thought, Nari left the eastern shore of the lake in a puff of glimmering blue smoke, and reapperared on the western shore, where the man had escaped. She was now less than three meters from him, and her blue eyes glowed as she started to charge again.
The moon shone upon them both with her silver light, and as Nari was about to strike, she met the mans amber eyes. Suddenly she stopped dead in her tracks and looked upon him with surprise and shock written all over her face.
"You.... you...." she stuttered, too shocked to find the words. "You aren't.... By the Gods! I'm so sorry. Sorry! I apologize, I didn't mean to.... well, I did, but not... I'm sorry. I mistook you for someone else. Sorry!"
She took several steps back as she apologized to him, felling like a total idiot. She just wanted to turn and run away from there as fast as she could, but the teleportation had drained much of her energy, so she stood there, wishing she had never been born.
He sweatdropped and nodded, waving it off as he sheathed his dagger. "I-It's alright, simple case of misidentity."
"But I could have hurt you!" She said. " I'm terribly sorry for this...."
She backed a few more steps, trying to figure out something to say, or something to do.
By the Gods! She thought. He probably thinks I'm some kind of escaped nutcase from a mental hospital or something! What am I gonna do? What am I-.
Her thoughts where interupted as her foot suddenly slipped on the grass on the edge of the lake. As she had thought of a way out of this selfinflicted mess, she had continued to back away from him, not realizing she had the lake behind her. Her foot slid down into the lake and as it didn't reach the bottom, she lost her balance and fell, cold chrystal clear water surrounding her.
"Aaaii!"
He quickly went to her and helped her up, chuckling a bit as he looked over her. "Are you alright?"
She coughed and pushed some wet strands of haie from her face.
"No," she said miserably. "No, I'm not alright. I've just made a total fool of myself by thoughtlessly attacking you.... and I'm wet. I'm not alright."
She shivered as she let herself be helped up from the deep lake, and as she sat down on the beach she hugged herself, trying to keep warm.
He took his cloak off and wrapped it around her, sitting next to her with a small smile. "I'm sorry, I know how it is to screw up...I'm Marth"
