What is your opinion on curfews?

Here where I live the curfew is 10:30 PM to 6:00 Am from Sunday to Thursday. On Friday and Saturday it is from 12:00 PM to 6:00 AM.

Do you think this is right? Or is it wrong? Does it limit freedom and oppress the teen population or does it protect the community.

Do you have a curfew? Do you like it? Does it help? Does it hurt?

All in all what is your opinion on curfews and why?

Not the most politically important thing but oh well.........

I think that 10:30 PM is a little early for a curfew. Here, if you're under 18, you have to be off the roads from 12-5 AM, unless you're going to/coming home from work. I have never had a problem with curfews, but that's probably because I live in a small town with nothing for locals to do (darn tourist town).

And since I'm 19, I don't have a curfew. And I've never had one. My family trusted me enough to not care if I come home at 2 AM. They know that I won't smoke, drink, do drugs, have sex, or anything else I'm not supposed to do.

I don't think curfews are a bad thing.

I don't think curfews are that bad either and my family also trusts me. My parents would be worried if I came back at 2 in the morning, but they know that I was not doing anything bad. I am 17 1/2 so I am still under the curfew, but I don't go out with friends that late so the curfew does not affect me. I don't even know what the curfew is over here.

I take it you're from Boise? Most places it's usually around midnight.

actually, that is where I was born. I live in California now, but Boise will always feel like it is my home for some reason. I have lived in California for the better part of my life.

I've never had a cerfew, even when I was 16. My parents knew I was not doing anything bad, or that I would call for my dad to pick me up if it was about to turn bad.
