Pacing through the landscape she was slowly beginning to be familiar with, Veritas carefully put one paw in front of the other. She'd wandered the Pride Lands for some time before comming to somone who would tell her where she was... And having spent more time here than any other area, she was beginning to think of this place as home. 'As close to one as I've ever been to, at any rate...' She corrected silently, a smile tugging at her stitched mouth. Flakes danced, searching the wind for news of boulders in her path, trees too close by, or prey or fellow hunters in the immediate area. She could sense a herd of prey -zebra?- not far off, but they were not close nough to inconveniece her.

But there was something close by the hindered female. A dark brooding figure whose whole body sagged as he walked. Blood stained his entire being, even dropping to the ground as he sauntered. His feathers dragged the ground, his eyes a haunting emptiness. Bayun always considered himself nothing to people...and at this point, he was nothing. He was a pathetic excuse of a lion who hadn't even gotten his full mane yet. Would never attract a pride...would never attract a female to call his own. He would never pass on his seed, would never know what it felt like to have a successor. He would live and die for himself. Anger boiled within him at the thought as he started to snarl at everything. At the littlest movements, he would snap his maw at the air; he took his anger out on the earth, claws tearing into dirt and trees, tail slamming and ruining the brush. He often did this, killed nature to calm himself. What else was there to do?

The void of emotion that was moving toward her was as volatile as the storms that raked the lands. Emptiness gave away to bleak despair, washed with rage and immediate hatred. Mindness anger, and an overwhelming urge to punish all that were near, to destroy. It shocked her so that she stopped suddenly, caught in the storm of emotions that she understood, but were alien to her. She had never felt anything like all of this. She was sorrow and truth, but this, this she had not ever known. The scent of blood hit her like a slap. Had her reeling on the spot. She knew hunger, though did not need to feed... And the scent was so overwhelming... But it was not prey-scent. At least, not all of it. Tenatively, she reached out the only way she knew how. With her mind. Hello?....

The Blood Runner stopped as the sound hit him. He took int he scent around the area, but only smelled something dead which was usually his scent...but there was another "dead thing" around. He slowly followed the scent to find a blind lioness. His sorrow blue eyes looked her over noticing the chains, her patched maw, the blood of her hair...the purity of her fur...she was hauntingly beautiful. Nothing like him. Shaking his head, he gave a low growl. "Hello? Is that you talking?" He tilted his head, knowing it was stupid since she couldn't see, but it was an action he couldn't help himself to do. "What are you doing out here alone? You are blind..you could be hurt..." And why was he speaking like he cared?

Veritas gave a flick of her tail as she felt the other approaching, wondering if her mind-call had been clear enough. A moment later, he was close enough to feel, and she considered taking a step back. His emotions crowded at her for a heartbeat before she resurrected her shields. The flickers of his movement and mind danced behind her blindfold, an exotic picture only she could see. 'Hello...' She returned politely, if not a little hesitantly. 'Yes.. It was I who called...' She breathed as he did, tilted her head to mimic his own movements. As he was the nearest creature to her, it was easiest to connect with him than any other force. However, a side effect was the synchronization she was beginning to experience. The question had her trembling in surprise. 'I? I am the wanderer...' She replied lamely. Sorrow had no home. Sorrow had no friends. Hurt? A bitter smile curled across her stitched-shut mouth. Hurt? What more could be done to her? To this thought, she made no reply, merely fanned the air with her tattered tail-feathers and shifted slightly, making her chains rattle.

He snorted a little, his stance slowly becoming relaxed. "You wander? But you're blind!" Bayun couldn't help but laugh a little. "How do you eat anyway? How are you even LIVING?!" She truly baffled him, and he wasn't exactly one to be baffled or intrigued by anything. As her chains clattered and rang, he couldn't help but calm himself, to be soothed by the haunting nose. A deep growl rumbled in his throat, a growl of satisfaction.

'To wander is the fate of all who do not have a home... I have never had a home, and so, ever do I wander...' She frowned as she explained it a stitch popping and making her hiss in pain. She stilled, tail lashing sharply back and forth before settling with the rest of her. The chains chimed as she stilled, then lay on the ground or hung from her waiting for her next movement. 'I see... it is just... Not the way you do.' She responded to the incredulous statement he had thrown at her. The growl had her tilting her head, shuffling her stance. The chains rang again, an odd counter melody to the satisfied purr he was making.

He barely heard her explanation over the ringing of the chains. It was a sweet lullaby to the pain that was his existence. "Wanderer...no I run. I've been running since I was a kit not able to hobble. I am one to not be here..." Bayun slowly drifted forward toward her, the sorrow music she was making was giving him some sort of high...he didn't want to get off. "I should never have been here..."
