The Queen of Winter stalked through the Autumn-Painted world, eagerness running strong in her veins. Soon... So soon, her time would be upon the world again. The fall belonged to her sisters, and she let them have her time, but she had waited long enough. "Soon." She crooned to the leaves as they rained down. She tilted her head back, letting the hood of her cloak slip back to her shoulders. Bright blue eyes closed as she savored the feel of the cool wind over her flakes and caressing her cheeks. "Soon Winter will be back..."

With a gentle sigh, she moved through the lands, flakes covering her small trail soon melting to the still too hot atmosphere. She felt a little flustered, welcoming the cool air. "Why can't it be Winter already?" Frostbite couldn't help but give a soft sigh to the thought before regaining her regal composure: head held high, tail trailing behind her with her feathers never touching the ground. Her ears were perked and attuned to the nature. As she moved, she felt another presence near. It was...cold. Shaking her fur, she hunted down the source trying to find it, her ears perked, senses heightened.

Katria felt it as the other drew near... A cold-craving soul much like her own... Who was that? She tilted her head and scented the wind, altering her course to draw closer to the one who now sought her. It was not Tashika, Tashika was well known to her.. And though a child of the winterlands, Shika was ever a cub.. This presence was, larger, stronger than that... "Hello Winter Child." She called to the still air.

Her eye's widened as she saw the winter figure a head. Oh she looked like a goddess, and the cool air emitting from her form was a blessing! Quickly, Frostbite gave a respectful bow to the other before reaching a little closer. "Hello, Winter Mother. It is a pleasure to see you here, but the weather is so terrible! Are you sure you fair well?" Her snowflakes began to fall about her feet slowly growing into an always dwindling pile of water and mush.

"Just a little early, I'll manage..." She smiled kindly at what might as well have been her blood-daughter, though she had never had the fortune of bearing children. The sight of the melting flakes made her frown, flicking a band of cool air around them to maintain a temperature that would allow the flakes to remain as they were made. Each individual disk of ice and magic was like a gift to her sun-seared heart, her smile soon widening. "Do you have a name I may call you, oh child of my heart? I'm Katria, to those few who wish to name me... I would be quite pleased if you called me thus."

Frostbite gave a nod. "Aye..I was born in the winter mountains...then I wandered too far down. I'm not sure how others can stand this ridiculous temperature!" She shook her head before absently looking down to notice actual snowflakes...not mush or water. She gave a gasp and yet again bowed to the Snow Goddess in front of her. "Oh, such a blessing!" Frostbite murmured before letting her eyes meet the elder in front of her. "My name is Frostbite. It will be an honor to call you Katria, Winter Mother." Frostbite yet again bowed before steadying her hearts. Finally, another such as her!

Katria smiled with a tilt of her head. "It seems the fate of my Daughters to wander to this burning-land... But still, I am glad you are well. You are not the first to dislike this place. There is another, an eternal cub, called Tashika. You and she are much in agreement." She eyed the flakes. "Just a little gift, darling. Soon our season will be upon this place and we will not have to work so hard to preserve your little gifts. But then, in the midst of summer, the most delicate snowflake is the greatest of gifts..." She laughed softly. "It is lovely to meet you, Frostbite."

Frostbite's eyes widened at the news. "A cub?!" Her head tilted back a bit, ears flicking causing her flakes to stir. "How could a cub survive this weather! Oh I wish to find her!" Frostbite's heart went out to the child as she looked around. The heat waves were quite obvious around the two cold-bloods. Frostbite couldn't help the smile that returned to her maw. "It is a pleasure and an honor to be in your presence Katria."
