Who would like to see a Mario Collection like Super Mario All Stars released for Wii as a collection of the Mario games? What about a Donkey Kong Mega Collection similar to the Sonic Mega Collection?

I would like both of those released. I know many of each are on VC but I would like a collection released anyway. You can't lose with nostalgia right? lol

What do you think?

Nah. I think I'd like Saturn games on Vc instead.

Of course it would be cheaper in a collection vs VC. wink

I'm not sure Sega is ready to make a Shining Force or NiGHTS collection set.

Eh, I think either of those would be nice. But they'd have to be pretty EPIC collections for me to consider it. Like, for the Mario collection, some really obscure titles such as Mario vs. Wario thrown in with all the other classics.

Well, what Nintendo needs to do is release a game pack like Namco, Sega, Capcom, and Midway have done for arcade games or otherwise. If it sells like crack--and Namco Museum has--then it would be a great idea for Nintendo to start moving VC games onto disks for people who cannot connect to Nintendo WiFi.

A NiGHTS collection would be nice..
That would add up to four games if they included the Eyetoy minigame and PS2 remake that's only in Japan now. Though I'd buy it even if it only contained the origional NiGHTS.
But, seriously, we need the Shining Force thing, like, now. And it should at least contain all three episodes of Shining Force 3.

That's a good practice, but I run into a few problems/inconveniences:

1. Constantly setting up and tearing down my systems.
2. Some systems--like N64--like to stop reading games properly.
3. Controllers break over time, and older systems are all wired.
4. Cartridges take up more space than disks.

With remakes and other emulations, cartridge games take up almost no space, physically AND electrically speaking. I enjoy having my N64 games on my new consoles because they are right at hand and don't have the issues of not loading every time that I get with my N64 sad

This is all true. But there's just something aesthetically pleasing about finding old games like Final Fantasy 2 or Star Fox in a pawn shop and claiming them for your very own. Yes, sometimes you've got to scrub the dust out from those archaic cartridges, and rearrange the connections to the right system...but you boot it up, and it's like, "Ahh. This is nostalgic." I guess it's like folks who still like to play their vinyls, with all their imperfections. It takes you back.

...But that's just me.

That and in my case, I was born in '88 with no older siblings (I'm the oldest) so by the time I was old enough to play games the SNES was out and I got that. I never got to play the NES much. Only over Ace's since he had older siblings who had it. Therefore I'm not able to play a number of NES games.

...oh yeah, that, too. My older brother was born around then, as well, and that was HIS first system.

But if I ever get the chance to buy one of those souped-up NES systems, and maybe a classic copy of Duck Hunt/Mario Bros....I'd do it in a flash!

I, too, am the oldest, and the only games my parents played that I know of were Pac-Man and Donkey Kong in the arcades. Your comment about not having anyone older leads us to the next idea...

What are we going to leave for the next generation? Over the summer, I replayed through The N64 Zelda games on my Wii through GC disks, and they were still just as awesome, and just as playable. These are the kinds of games we can force onto younger people to show what we think is good, as well as what was good many years ago that stands the test of time. Not all games are capable of this, and many have had more successful sequels, but we're still showing them and forcing them to learn the building blocks of the greatest games.

I think it would be great. I mean look at Zelda, it had a collection. It included The Legend of Zelda, Zelda II, A Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time, and Majora's Mask?

They also released a re-vamped Ocarina of Time with a much higher difficulty, Master Quest, if i'm not mistaken.

If they did do a collection of Mario Games, they need to follow in All Stars footsteps with a graphics improvment. Granted, I thought New Super Mario Bros. was just that, but after getting it, I was sorely mistaken (Great game, none the less.)

But with the Virtual Console out, it often goes into question whether or not something like this is such a good idea, you know? It could either bomb, or immeadiatly take off. If it does take off, buying via virtual console would be obsolete, but if it fails, the game becomes obsolete... double edged sword...
