Prancing away from his basket, Aureate took a deep breath of air and grinned. Sky above, grass underhoof, life was good. The black foal pranced his way along, no great care in the world. His parents were fairly nearby -he was sure- and soon enough he'd find them... But for now nap time was over and it was time to explore.
"I remember there was mist . . . swirling mist upon a vast, glassy lake . . . There were candles all around and on the lake there was a boat...."
He hummed to himself in a pleased manner and wandered.

"Not so fast, Aureate." A low chuckle erupted from a proud wind soquili a new father. His eyes gleamed as he followed the early riser, his siblings were still sleeping. Silver eyes gleamed through the mask that was plastered to his face. He never thought he could be this happy.
It already amused him greatly that he was singing, just as he had done. He could teach him the wondors of music. How to sing to a proper lady, courtship though thats not how it worked for Sekhmet. It was the flowers that had her head over heels.
Aureate looked most like him, and perhaps he had a fascination for that. His younger son, he felt would be a mother's boy and the girl...he didn't know. What he did know was that he loved them all. For once, he could love more than just one being and with his whole heart. He was sad that he had missed out on the opportunity with Jailbait, Ares and Rascal. He had failed them, he wasn't okay with it and he had to live with it. He hoped his eldest son could forgive him and learn that he could be there for him now.

"Buuuut Faaaaaaaaather..." The young colt whined, whirling in a circle and pausing to face his sire, wings flared. "There is so much to Dooooooooooo! I don't want to miss anything!" The flight of a nearby bird had him starting on his hind legs, trotting after it as it soared through the trees. "See! Like THAT! I want to do that! When dad, WHEN?!" He wriggled his haunches and bunny hopped after the escaping sparrow, flapping his wings as he went. He wanted to fly! He wanted to soar and run and see EVERYTHING RIGHT NOW! NOWNOWNOW!

Erik chuckled as he looked to his son, "All in good time." He looked to the bird, a sparrow. He wrinkled his brow for a minute, "A sparrow?" he inquired. "Non non, you will not flit around like one of those birds." He searched the tree lines and found what he was looking for, "Do you see that up their?" he motioned to a pile off twigs and branches. A bird sat among the top looking over the skies with it's piercing eyes. As if it were scripted the bird took flight, "You my son, will soar like an eagle." he nosed him on the cheek.
"After all you are a full blooded wind, its what your supposed to do." he winked at him and continued moving. "You will have to wait sometime though, your wings aren't strong enough for your body," he eyed his son in a warning tone, "You don't want to do anything stupid." He was thinking of like jumping off a cliff to find out his feathery appendages didn't support him, bad thought...bad thought.

At the correction Aureate wrinkled his nose, and stopped chasing the sparrow. He watched it escape, then turned back to his sire. "Non? Non, sparrow?" He turned as his father gestured, wathing the graceful bird of prey take flight. It soared with an easy tilt of a wing, powerful and regal, rather than the bouncing-diving motion of the sparrow. "Oh..." He murmured. "That... That's good too." He listened to his father speak, nodding obediently. It was what he was suppossed to do. It was the legacy of his family. "How long is "sometime" father?"
