Orpheus checked the clipboard he had for the next scheduled class and he gave a bit of a smile. He was coming back for a follow up class? That was good to see, how wondered how Ai'shern was doing with the skill after their last run in, wondered if he was figuring it out. He supposed he would see once his student arrived.
The class was set up the same as last time with some various bugs and flowers that he'd gathered up to have on hand for his student to test his skills out on. They were dangerous powers so Orpheus wanted to be sure he had control of them so he didn't accidentally hurt someone.
The teacher was sitting on one side of the table, taking down a couple notes as he waited for Ai'shern to arrive.

Ai'shern was quite a bit different. An accident had now left him tail-less, and he'd cut off all his lovely, long brown hair. He'd also gotten a boost of confidence, and a boost of skills.
The basilisk strolled into the classroom with a polite nod for Orpheus. "Thank you for seeing me again, Mr. Solon. I've improved immensely."

Orpheus found himself starring for a moment, as though trying to decide if he had the right file for the right student until he spoke, "It is nice to see you again." He said, no... that was him alright, "Looking a bit different these days, had me a little confused for a moment."
He motioned for the boy to join him, wondering idly if his DNA had any regeneration tied to it when he looked at his lack of tail but the files had had mentioned nothing about it, "So you have been working hard then? I would like to see. Today is more of a refresher course then anything so take your time and show me what your able to do now."

To be honest, Ai'shern had been up to no good. He'd been practicing both of his more interesting skills on things he shouldn't have been, and had gotten... Quite good. He didn't need to take his time anymore, and it didn't take nearly as much concentration as it had to even attempt it last time.
He shot a harsh gaze at the small spider, turning it, yet not the glass around it, into stone. It showed skill that, unless he'd been practicing every day, a young boy should not have. Dangerous skill.
A red flag, really.
He smiled at Orpheus.

Orpheus gave a whistle, "I see much improvement since the last time we had a class." He said, picking up the glass and dumped the stone spider into his hand to look it over. He would worry about the alternate uses of the skill later, most definitely not in front of the student who had said skills.
He set the stone critter down then motioned to another jar, "This one has a butterfly and a flower, both living material. Can you pertrify the flower and paralize the butterfly?" He asked, deciding to see if he could differentiate.
Best to know how well developed the skills were.

That was a little harder. Ai'shern easily paralyzed the butterfly, but when he went to petrify the flower, it began to turn both things to stone. He didn't stop mid-glare, mainly because the boy had heart, and didn't want to make the butterfly suffer, half stone.
"... It's hard... Separating living from inanimate, like the spider and the jar, is easy now, but two living things close together is hard."

Orpheus looked over the stone butterfly and flower before giving a nod of understanding, "A difficult thing to practice as well." How often did one really want to glare at flowers and bugs after all, "You did well in paralyzing your first target though."
Orpheus turn to write down a couple notes on his clipboard, "Both are skills that have their uses, taking care of dangerous things for one. Either could do it effectively though your best bet might be the paralysis as its reversible." He told Ai'shern, not wanting the boy to go around turning random things to stone because it seemed like it could be fun.
He made a note on the clipboard to send a note to Raven to ask if there were ways of reversing the stone gaze of a Basilisk.

"Thank you."
Ai'shern had the same thought. Though, he spoke hesitantly. "Mr. Solon...? I believe I might be able to turn things back from stone... Only things I myself turned, of course... I've stopped mid-petrify before, and inched it back just a little bit. Maybe I'm just not strong enough yet? I could practice..."
Of course, it'd be good to know if someone ELSE could magically turn someone back, just in case Ai'shern didn't want to.

Orpheus looked over at him, a look of interest on his face before he gave a nod, "That would be a good thing for to practice, just in case you ever find yourself in need of in the future." He told him, so Basilisk could reverse their own gazes? That was an interesting thought, probably not something the techs would know of as an actual Basilisk would have no reason or desire to reverse it.
He wrote down a side note of what the boy was going to work on practicing, "If you could send me note on your progress in reversing the stone gaze I would appreciate it." It would be something good to keep in Ai'shern's file.

"Of course, Mr. Solon. We'll probably see each other again pretty soon, I'll bet." Again, that slightly eerie smile and the boy lifted the spider. It wasn't an ugly stone. More marble-like than anything. "Is there anything else...?" He set it back on the desk, assuming Orpheus would need to keep it for his records.

The teacher seemed to be thinking on it for a long moment before he gave a shake of his head, "Hmmm, nothing comes to mind." He said as he couldn't think of anything that he needed the boy to do for today, "Unless you have any questions we are done for the day."

"No, thank you." Another big smile and Ai'shern was out the door and on with his day.

"Have a good day!" He called after Ai'shern before turning to look at the table. Orpheus gave a smile as he looked over the stone spider and stone butterfly on a flower looking rather impressed.
He rose to his feet, having much to do now. He had to release the other insects to fly around as they wanted in one of the terrain classrooms, he would take his clipboard to finish his notes, send a note to Raven, and then he'd bring the two stone statuettes to his office. He was planning on keeping them as they were rather interesting looking and a testament of one of his students interesting power.
