Sumati ran as fast as he could, swiftly avoiding any obstacle that came in his way. He loved running, loved it with every fiber of his body.

He had sneaked away from the den and started playing with a bird he accidentally scared out of a bush. The game turned into a race between him and the bird. He ran trough the jungle, the thick plant life of the jungle significantly slowing him down. He tripped several times but did not give up chasing the parrot. Sumati didn't notice where he was going until the trees became lass and lass and suddenly he was dashing trough a wide open plain.

After several more hours of playing with the avian he had decided it was time to get back. That, and he was very tired. He also knew he was probably near the border and it made him unsettled. However he needed a bit of rest. Sumati made his way to a small spring and watered himself. Then he laid down in the shade to get a few minuets of rest before heading back to the den.

Lulua'line made her away again away from her parents and siblings. So easy it had been, but normally she left with a sister of hers. This time, she'd leave them all behind. At least for the time being. She'd be back long before they even realized she'd gone anywhere. Therefore, she'd never get into trouble if things went her way and her sisters didn't rat her out.

Lulua' was a kind soul. Sweet, generous, as well as wild. It was hard to keep her in one spot without her disappearing from the picture. She'd always return, yes, but that wasn't what her mother was trying to teach her. She was trying to teach her daughter patience, and to stay when she was told to stay. It didn't work.

Like always, Lulua went towards the very place she loved. The jungle, or to her, the forest. It made it easy when she lived close to there. They use to live in the desert, but her father didn't like it all too much So they moved for the moment. Lulua' flicked her tail and continued. Not noticing the blue blob of fur that was close by resting. Anyone else would have seen it, but Lulua's noes was into a very bright yellow flower. "SO pretty." She said as she smelled it more. "It smells so good too!

Blissfully napping, hidden away from the sun's hot rays, Sumati didn't see the other cub that appeared nearby. He almost jumped as he heard a voice, one that did not belong to anyone he knew. His violet eyes quickly scanned the area and zeroed on a figure in the distance. It seemed to be a cub, with it's back to him. It's tail did not have a tuft at the end, like the lions did, and it wasn't slim and long-legged as a cheetah so it was probably a leopard.

His tail flicking, Sumati wandered what to do. He didn't know this leopard, none of the members of the Achana had this kind of coloration. It was an outsider. A cub was not as dangerous as an adult, he doubted it would do him any serious harm. He didn't even know if the other feline was hostile at all. The little male tilted his head to the side. He really wanted to go and meet this cub, he was curious like that. He could use a new friend to play with.

Sumati took another look around. There didn't seem to be anyone else with that cub. The blue cub got up and stretched himself. With light steps he came out of his hiding place in the shade and without hesitating headed straight for the leopard. "Hello." he said loudly, announcing his presence "Who might you be?"

Lulua'line jumped as she heard a voice enter her ears. Of course she didn't normally jump, but she thought she was completely alone. How wrong that proved to be. She stepped back a bit giving a good distance between the strange creature and herself. She raised a brow. He was no leopard, that was for sure. And he didn't look like a lion. His tail was all wrong. But she didn't say anything.

"Er... Hi" She started. Eying him then eying the flowers she had been smelling. Now only if she could grab them. But no matter, this other seemed rather nice. She relaxed. "I'm Lulua'line. Who are you?"

Sumati tilted his head to the side, somewhat amused by her reaction. He hadn't meant to startle her on purpose, though. He didn't want the girl to be scared of him and he was pleased to see her relax a few moments later.

"I'm Sumati." He answered. After a short debate he added "I'm a cheetah." Something in the female's expression had told him that she had not met a creature of his kind before. Turning to take a look at the flower she was sniffing before he invaded her privacy so rudely, Sumati said "You seem to really like flowers."

"Whats a cheetah?" She asked tilting her head. He was so skinny compared to her. She'd never seen a male so skinny. "Your skinny" She said to him with a laugh. Did he not like food or something? Then he asked about flowers. Well, he must not know any girls at all. She looked at him like he must be joking.

"Well, they are pretty and smell nice." She told him. "Mostly the purple ones." She said. She loved the color. She was jealous that her brother was all purple, and she only had bits of purple on her. But she supposed if she was all purple, she'd have hated the color. Her grandma was purple and white too. "don't you like flowers?" She asked

At first Sumati just stared at her dumbly and then burst out laughing "Skinny?" he repeated "I guess you could say that." His tail swished trough the air. "Cheetahs are felines, obviously. We are the fastest animals around." Sumati smiled proudly "We're built for speed, not strength, that's I look so skinny to you." he finished his fairly simple explanation.

Now she was looking at him like he was some sort of alien, just because he asked about the flower. He was just trying to make a conversation. Sumati sighed inwardly, guess he just wasn't good with these things. "I don't mind flowers. They smell and look nice." She answered truthfully "I just don't understand why girls are that fascinated by them."

"Well, leopards aren't so fast. At least I'm not. " She giggled as he laughed. Thinking that it was funny that he thought it was funny. "Leopards are built for power I think, that's what daddy says anyways." She said with a smile. "See, he says we are the only land cats around that can climb." She informed him. Not really sure if that was true or not. But Lulua' couldn't even climb if her life depended on it right now. She was too little. She would be soon, her mother told her. Once she got a little bigger that was.

She gaped at his answer."We aren't -whatever that word means- about them! They are just beautiful like we are." She told him. "See, every girl likes to pick flowers to make others see how pretty they really are." She tried to explain to him. "But I don't need to do that, cause my mommy tells me I'm pretty without anything to add." She said with a smile. Of course, her mother said that about all her children, but Lulua though she only told her sisters that to make them feel better, but really meant it about her.

"But I'm more of a stone leopard." She told him. "A nice pretty rock to have around my neck is a lot better then a silly flower." She told him more. She was a bit of a talker when she wanted to be. "See... Flowers die too fast, stones never die." She continued "But I wanted to bring my mother a flower, and that one I was smelling was nice. But I can find another. I don't think I like it as much anymore"

"Yeah, I haven't seen any of the other cats up high like the leopards back in Achana." Sumati said, tilting his head to the side "They do climb.." he continued, thinking how cheetahs and lions sometimes used trees with lower and thicker branches as look-out posts "But not like a leopard." No one could get as high up as a leopard could. Now that he thought about it any other cat except them looked pretty funny perched up on a tree branch. They just didn't...belong there.

"Fascinated means to really like something." said Sumati confidently, even though he wasn't completely sure of the meaning himself. He had heard his mother use the word a few times on different occasions so he at least had some relative idea. And he didn't want to look stupid in front of her. "Girls do look nice with flowers." Sumati nodded, somewhat getting what she was trying to say. "But I think you look just as pretty without them." the little male said politely, remembering what his mother said about girls and how much their appearance mattered to them. "But I really like feathers as decorations." Birds represented freedom to him. And freedom was what cheetahs liked best. At least he did.

"I can help you with that, if you want." Sumati suggested, thinking he might get something for his own mother as well. "There are some very pretty flowers in the jungle, much better than these here." He motioned with his head towards the line of trees in the distance. The plant life in the jungle was much more spectacular than in the savannah. "It's not very far."

Well, at least that confirmed what her father had said about leopards. Though, where their any other type of cats? Well, she knew of gods cause of her aunt, and knew that some of them could fly from her grandma. She smiled at the other, he was really nice after all. "Well, one day, I'll climb really high"

She blushed at his comment, of course more out of embarrassment then out of anything else. She never had anyone but her mother complement her on stuff like that. "Feathers are lovely too, but flowers just suit me better. You can't find many purple flowers to match the spots in which I have upon my fur" She told him. She liked matching them with flowers. The color was just absolutely beautiful. And having them come from her grandma. Though, she was jealous of her brother who was mostly purple.

"Really? Where are they?!" She sad excitingly. She really loved finding pretty flowers. She was more then happy to follow the other. "But we can't be in there too long, my mother would notice I was gone if we stayed too long." She told him. "Well lets go!" She said happily at the other waiting for him to show her the way. Flowers, many beautiful purple flowers. she could imagine it now. Big purple flowers... Yes.

"It'd be nice to be up there..." Sumati tilted his head, looking at a tree nearby. "But I prefer running. It's in my nature, I suppose." he laughed. It was amazing how different he and Lulua' were. Leopards and cheetah had little in common, except for both of them being felines, he mused.

Sumati noticed her blush, but didn't comment on it. He had no idea why her face got all pink all of a sudden, to be honest. But something told him it's be rude to ask. "I haven't seen many purple flowers around either." Purple was a pretty color, but too girlish for him. Green, blue, red - those were the colors he liked.

"Okay, okay," said Sumati, amused by her excitement "we're going." He started walking towards the jungle, with a little bounce to his step. He would've preffered to race to there but he doubted Lulua' would enjoy it as much as he did. "We'll be there before you know it." he started "I think you'll really like them, some have several different colors on them. Like..uh..purple fading to pink and into yellow. And many more. You'll see." He had found a flower like that a few days ago. It seemed really weird to him as a color combination. Meh, nature was weird sometimes.

The blue male followed a path that led to a spring. It was the most colorful place in this part of the jungle. Sometimes, if the light was right, the water formed a pretty little rainbow. Sumati often went there if he was feeling down, all those colors energized him.

Lulua'line had no care of how much different they were. It was interesting to always meet new creatures. And Sumati was definitely fun. "I like to run, I just could never beat a cheetah, or so my daddy says." She nodded. She wasn't sure, but she was told they were very fast and could out run anything on land. Weather that was true or not, Lulua' was sure she wasn't about to find out with this boy. He was only a cub after all.

" That's so sad." She said about not seeing many purple flowers. She really wanted them to be everywhere. Purple was such a great color, but all the other colors were good too. She flicked her tail and sighed. How was she suppose to make a necklace out of flowers that didn't show themselves.

"Yay!" She said with a little bounce to her body. She followed after him with a little bounce here and there. She was going to be able to make her necklace, it was so exciting. "That's so great, I can't thank you enough for showing me." She told him. She really though he was a sweet heart.

"Well, running with a cheetah isn't always enjoyable. We get very competitive." Sumati said with a shy smile. He and his brothers were a perfect example for this. They were silly like that. Getting to meet someone like Lulua was very interesting for him. She was really nice and pleasant.

Sumati smiled, happy that she appreciated his help "It's not a big deal. I'm glad I can help." he said and jumped over a large tree root that was in his way. He flicked his tale excitedly "Oh, look! There it is."

A glimmer of sunlight reflected by water could be seen behind several bushes ahead of them. The flowers also came in sight and there was even a rainbow. He could barely make it out from here, but it was there. "We're lucky." the cheetah boy said to Lulua and went ahead of her to find that flower he was talking about. There was an array of colors, shapes and sizes of flowers she could choose from for her necklace, but he wanted to show her that one. Just because.

"Everyone gets competitive." She knew that word well. She was competitive when it came to her sisters. For she had to be the best one to sneak off. But no matter, she thought she was the best. She only got caught once or twice. And it was all after she got back. As well because of one of her sisters told her mother. She flicked her tail with a laugh.

"Not a big deal, it's a huge deal." She said with a nod. To her, most things she wanted was the most important thing in the world. So no matter what, it was going to be a big thing for her. She could lick him for this... almost lick anyways. She didn't want to get cooties from him. Some boys had them, her mother told her. She followed close behind him, but not close enough to where she could bump into him. Giving some room between them.

"Wow! This place is beautiful." She said almost speechless. To her, it was a wonderful place. Almost romantic, though she wasn't one to think about that stuff at all. She viewed all the flowers carefully as he went off on his own. She didn't even watch him as she started looking at the flowers. Oh so beautiful they were. Yet, not one of them she saw was the type she wanted for her self. They weren't right at all.

"How did you find this place?" She asked as she started to smell some of them. Oh, they all smelled good in their own little way. She had yet to look over to him as he was trying to find the one flower he told her about.

"Isn't it?" the little cheetah boy smiled. The place really was quit something. "I have to show it to mom sometime."

Sumati searched trough the thick plant life, trying to find that flower. He was sure it was somewhere near there. He had seen it barely a few days ago. He hoped no one had plucked it. They were rare, those type of flowers.

"It was just an accident, really." He answered, his voice strangely muffled because he currently had his head stuck in a bush "I was racing with my bird friend, we often do," he pulled his head out and shook off the leaves that got tangled in his blue fur "and I ran tough here."

"Aha!" he finally saw what he was looking for. "There's this flower I told you about." he called to Lulua', beckoning her to turn around "There, see?" he motioned with his head. "Do you want it?" he asked.
