To the direct west, the jungle loomed. To the east, the trees of the swampland rose up. And in between, a strip of land, dotted with trees from the jungle and the swamp alike, as well as bushes. Shetani looked one way, then the other, wondering... Just which way was she to go? She shuddered just a bit, continuing southward.

In the pale moonlight, everything was magical. Even the grasshoppers seemed ethereal in the eyes of a cub. Crouching low, Huan's rump stuck up in the air as she wiggled, before jumping at the grasshopper. As it jumped away, she let out a squeeling laugh, taking off after it. "Jumper, come back!"

Pausing in her walking, Shetani looked around. Where was that sound coming from...? A giggling sound, the sound of a happy cub... Ears lifting, she headed towards it. Were there cubs all the way out here? Maybe it belonged to one of the local prides. A grasshopper went by her nose, making the lioness stop short in surprise.

As the insect jumped out of view, Huan sat up, giggling again. A shadow over her, blocking the moonlight, made her stop and look up. With a curious look, she stepped back to try and see the stranger better. A shift in the clouds drifting over the sky, and her face lit up. "Hello! Did you come out to chase grasshoppers, too?"

Frowning, the brown lioness tilted her head. "Grasshopper chasing...?" One suddenly landed on her nose, making her go crosseyed to try and see it. When it jumped off, she reached up and rubbed her snout. Another one jumped by, and she watched the cub turn and take off after it.

Running around the lioness, Huan tried to catch a grasshopper. When it landed on her tail, the cub jumped. But the insect was soon gone, vanishing into the grass again. Laughing again, she crouched and pounced on one perched on a rock. "Jump jump jump goes the grasshopper!" With each grasshopper, she jumped after it, trying to catch even one of them.

Just watching the cub had her smiling. But there was something nagging... She looked around, ears lifting. Where were the cub's parents...? And family..? Did she even have a pride? Turning to the cub, she frowned. "Wait, where's your family? You can't really be out here all alone..." Chasing grasshoppers, no less.

Stopping, the cub looked over, still smiling. "Momma's sleepin', and so're my sisters!" She turned suddenly, hearing the croak of a frog. Dropping into the grass, she went stalking after it, jumping at the amphibian. A peel of laughter escaped as the creature jumped away, heading back to the nearest water source.

"But surely your mother's worried about you!" She'd be worried... Especially since her own cub had vanished to who knew where. Turning around to face the cub, she found it... Gone. But there were no other lions around... Smelling the air and listening, Shetani deduced the cub had simply wandered away. Was the cub even... Real...? She looked at the swamps, thinking of stories she'd heard... Stories of spirits and ghosts. Shuddering, she turned and headed west, away from the swamps.

As the frog jumped into the pond, Huan giggled, then looked over. The lioness was gone... And she hadn't even chased any grasshoppers! Shrugging, the cub got up, running after and trying to swat a firefly. "Come back here, I just wanna play!" A grasshopper landed in her path, distracting her again to chasing the insects. "Jumper, come back!"
