I'll update the first post with rules that we will abide by. Feel free to agree, disagree, and state your reasons.
1. We will reveal all funds, costs, and details about the site, and how much money it is making on a monthly, quarterly, or yearly basis. 2. One or more Founders will give feed back in the site back forum to every thread. Even if to say this won't go ahead.

A senate should be properly established. Some forum like feedback where EVERYONE can express an opinion about the direction the site should take and have their opinions listened to. A founder should check the forum and actually read the threads at least twice a day and read like 5 threads to get an idea. I mean properly read btw and take in the ideas suggested and then relay them.

Constitution? Or do you mean Terms of Service?
Because if we try to use governmental words things aren't going go so well considering every user is going demand representation and holding a piece of the pie.

However, when the website becomes a bit more popular it could be quite difficult to get through a lot of threads. I suggest breaking up different kind of topics into sub-forums, and assigning one member of staff to each forum to read through topics. (eg, sub forums - items, games etc)

These are rules, that keep us in check, as well them. Two things in one, but more binding on us. No crap about: We can make changes at any time whenever we want.

Yes, well then it shouldn't be called a Constitution. Since in legal binding Constitutions grant power to the people to take out the higher powers. And I don't want to go around explaining that we're using Constitution in a different way if that happens. x.x

Once the forums grow large we have an election in each forum. If someone is a regular than they can be nominated and then we have the vote. Once someone is elected they then become that forums representative in the Senate. Then the people get fair representation.

I thought the site wasn't going be that big though... America only has a representive democracy because of the large populace. If it wasn't so large it'd be a republic. o_o

An amazing culture that dealt with pretty much everything thrown at it. If we could emulate that and use an intelligent democracy with real patriotism then we can build something fairly. I know we won't be huge but fair representation from each forum should be a good idea.

Well...yes, they could take it to a higher power. If we break the constitution, I expect that we shall be prosecuted for breach of contract in the very least. However, the first person they should take their complaints to, if they have a problem with the constitution would be the founders, and then the server provider. Quote: I already thought of this. Once the forums grow large we have an election in each forum. If someone is a regular than they can be nominated and then we have the vote. Once someone is elected they then become that forums representative in the Senate. Then the people get fair representation. Agreed, but I think they should have two assistants as well, to keep up moderation etc. Quote: See we will actually listen to the senate though because its a more close up thing rather than 500 threads all asking for different things. Not always the case, but a summary of what users want would be very influential to the majority. Quote: I thought the site wasn't going be that big though... America only has a representive democracy because of the large populace. If it wasn't so large it'd be a republic. o_o The site can get as big as we can cope with, without going bust. The experiment is to mimic gaia's activities, and halve the expenses (at least). America is a republic, it elects representatives to rule. However, it is a democracy because everyone votes for the president, and then for the people who are mostly in power they have elected state by state. If it wasn't for the president, America would definitely be a republic. However, if America were to freely elect every person into power, they would be a democracy.

Democracy is where everyone has a say, not just in electing people, but every decision that passes through the government. Everyone has to vote. That is a democracy. You're talking about being a republic, which is probably the best form of government, running alongside communism.

Wait, so the first rule is that we're going to be open with funds? We haven't even made the site, we don't have a profit yet do we?
I think it's a very bad idea to be making rules about profit funds at this stage in time. I would however like to say it would be a good idea to let everyone who is involved know exactly what funds/resources we have to make this thing.
v.v the word founders makes me think of hellokitty online.
