1. Tanundra, The Green Dragon

Tanundra is one of the last dragons born of the Earth Mother. Meaning he is an elemental dragon made from fire and earth. His hide is tough, requiring enchanted weapons to pierce it, or as we have recently learn; dragon fire. Large ram's horns curl out from his forehead and in to protect his eyes, making him quite unique in the dragon world.

As a hatchling, Tanundra bonded himself to the Eca, the First Oracle. Her calm, inquisitive nature intriguing and exciting him. Through much trial they became close friends, and while Tanundra cared for her deeply he never actually fell in love with her. He may have, but Eca refused to allow him to do so. As a dragon, he had more to worry about then just her protection and safety.

Tanundra however, is headstrong, stubborn, easy to anger, and rebellious. He went against these wishes of remaining his own dragon, and forever bonded himself to Eca's lineage, passing himself down to each Oracle in turn, and promising to protect them.

Rumor soon developed that the dragon was cursed, as every seer he tried to protect did not live long beyond the age of thirty. He became a scorn, a trial, a Bain. Children found themselves hoping that they did not have the Oracle gift, so that they would not inherit the doom of the Green Dragon.

Several thousand years old now, having suffered the deaths of each he was sworn to protect, Tanundra was passed in the service of the Last Oracle, Meilikki. Thus far he has served her for twenty-five years.

Tanundra has taken as much a liking to Meilikki as he did to the First Oracle and he believes that she has been the only once since to inherit his good friends manners and ability. Therefore he takes great insult to himself if something happens to her.

3.Ton Blackbowman, the First Mage

Apprenticed at a young age, Ton was the son of a powerful military man, General Blake Blackbowman. His father was accused of treason and thrown in prison, only to be freed a short time before his death, some 20 years after imprisonment. The family name was tainted with spilled blood and feared by those who knew it. Almost oblivious to this until Ton was reunited with Blake after his apprenticeship, Ton was forced to kill his father upon Black's request before he was recaptured and tortured, his soul bound forever to haunt the place that ruined him.

Some time after this, Ton learned that he both had an estranged twin brother and a goddess for a mother. This gave way to abilities that were not before seen in wizards, and thus Ton was said to become the First Mage. As for the brother...they would clash in several large-scale battles, demolishing cities and bringing the ruin to countries.

With the help of his dragon Alaran, and his now wife Eca, he was able to retreat before his family caused any more damage to the land and started the prestigious school the Academy, where dedicated wizards could come to brush up on their talents.

4. Alaran, the Saphire Dragon

The last to be made by the Earth Mother with ice and earth. She has poisonous barbs above her eyes, and two long horns stretching back from her forehead. She is smaller than her brother Tanundra, but much more agile.

As a hatchling she bonded herself with the First Mage Ton, and soon became enamored with him. There was not a place the mage would go that the dragon would not try to follow. She accompanied Ton in every journey, and soon became spiteful of his relationship with the oracle. She saw their love as a farce, as untrue, and held firm that Ton really loved her but could not bring himself to admit love for a dragon. Alaran holds to this belief even long after the mage's death.

She has attached herself to the Academy, every once in a while leaving it's grounds to stop hr brother from killing or destroying something. She has yet to find a mage she feels is worthy of taking her love, Ton's, place.

5. The Oracle, Meilikki
Oracles, now thousands of years old, differed greatly from the first, Eca. Where she had been of sound mind and body and living to a ripe old age, her offspring could not cope with the pain of seeing the future as she could. The future was never a great thing to behold, and to see how the ones you loved would die, your friends and enemies was taxing on both the consciousness and the physical body. They grew to be a sickly bunch, often not surviving past the age of thirty-five, and most were blind. This came from a forced belief that if you could not see the faces of your loved ones, then seeing their death as charcoal smudges wouldn't be as emotionally draining. The theory only half worked, as the Oracle's other senses became sharper, knowing their families through smell, touch, and sound.

Meilikki is the last of the Oracle line. If she dies without an heir, the gift of seeing the future dies with her. She is the first since Eca to be of sound body, her only disadvantage being her blindness, which she never got used to. Some time before her birth it was discovered that the combinations of certain metals, the best being gold and mithril, allowed the Oracles to see an area of a person if an amulet of said metals was worn. Meilikki is one of the only Oracle's to but this to use however, the old fear of seeing a loved one's face still dominate in most woman's lives.

Oracles have always been woman; male children were considered a blessing, for they would not inherit the wasting gift.

She spent most of her life in the catacombs behind the Lostagrace forest, in a home that was built for a family. At one time, when she was a child, there were others in the house to make it a lively place, but it soon became vacant when it was discovered that Meilikki had the gift. Surprisingly accepting, but rough and sometimes uncaring, she grew up with only Tanundra as a companion. She was not completely forgotten though, there were desperate people who braved the caves in order to gain the knowledge of their futures, ro for some cure and once in a while for some helpful advice. They had to complete a difficult task for Meilikki, because lets face it, spending your life in a cave did not allow easy access to food, water, and supplies.

Now, she's had the opportunity to meet Piper Silverfeather, and enlist the elf's help to restore the surface and make it hospitable for surface life. She has also met with Tarathiel, a visit she very much enjoyed for her dragon was off on an errand, and advised him on the disposal of King Dimitri. Now she has been taken captive by a hooded man and used for his own unknown devices.

7. King Dimitri

This is a man who has never set foot outside of Deep Water, but thought that he ruled everything. Lostagrace, the Purian Peninsular, the Wizen tower, he thought all the lands belonged to him. And at one time, they did belong to his ancestors, but hold over cities so far away quickly diminished.

Who are his ancestors? Remember that brother of Ton's? Well, he did do other things besides destroy what Ton tried to build. Dimitri is a descendant.

Dimitri didn't have anything much in the way of a childhood. His mother was a slave and of little not in both son's and father's eyes. Only the child was important. Dimitri grew up being schooled by the finest in Deep Water under every subject, from mathematics to strategy. He never took anything to heart though, and expected everything to be given to him anyway. So as a result and as expected his lessons went to waist.

Perhaps the only thing he learned was the extreme racism passed down from his father. Dad, who was always dealing with some war of some kind, always stressed the fat that dwarves and elves were bad. Any kind, it didn't matter, and half-breeds were worse. They did nothing but war with each other and ever their efforts were to dethrone those in power. Therefore you had to take swift and crushing control over them before they could attack you.

Dimitri never succeeded. He squandered the castle treasury on absurd plans, and came to relay on support from neighboring noble houses. A weak man easily fooled with promises of victory, his military men and advisors knew how to manipulate him, knew how to make him do what they wanted. But because of Dimitri's poor skills in anything he set his mind to, they dared not try, their plans would only become ruined with his stubborn mistakes.

He learned of Moonstone's and Onyx's presence because of the spatial vibe they created when entering the plane, which the Wizen picked up and sent Warren over to report. They also felt the arrivals of Piper and Malik but didn't feel like reporting. Dimitri tried to use the Vah as recon, paid them the last of his gold, and hopefully sent them out on what would be a suicide mission. The twins came back, though they never returned to report what they found to Dimitri, and he king of course didn't believe Warren, since the man was a half-elf.

During the annual tournament, he gave his guards enchantments and poisoned weapon tips. There was a sizable prize to be won, and a reputation to keep. Sadly, Malik still won the tournament, even after being poisoned.

Some time after this the Wizen Watch Tower was utterly destroyed. Dimitri, dismissing any evidence to the contrary, immediately suspected D'vinn. I his haste to find the elf's fortress he was deceived by the drow captain, Tarathiel. In a short manner the king was disposed of and replaced by hopeful more competed people. An almost completely new bloodline now rules.

8. Ashlyn, the griffin
So how did the "old" Piper and Malik manage to befriend a griffin? Easy. Steal one from her mother when she's a kitten, and throw her in a cage until she does what you say. Cruel? Definably, but Piper was not a very nice woman. Ashlyn, having grown up with only these two as "parents" never knew anything besides doing what they said. When she was young she was quite vigilant in the tasks she preformed. She was quick and efficient, usually used to fetch items or gather information or if need have it kill people.

AS she grew older she began to loose her zest for carrying orders. What she had lost young she gained old, and became surly, prideful, and slow. Now she will not carry though with an order if she was insulted, and demands apology. She does things at her own pace and sometimes not at all. She has taken on a kind of pleasure in trying to relate information back since she can't speak, and has always enjoyed destroying Malik's property anyway.

Ashlyn was crucial in a few things. She closed plot gaps when it came to things like finding the conduit child Bode, and is handy for making transitions between night and day, characters and places, whatever! Really, she doesn't mind.

Lately she's been enjoying some Malik pestering, squawking in his face to wake him up, demanding attention.

9. Moonstone, the Vah

A young Vah from another plane, Moonstone is the first born of Cymarron and Rand the Raven. White in colour with a few gray strips on his tail and darker gray on the undersides of his wings. As a child, little fazed him. He slept a lot, and was general a cute little kitty.

Although older than him, Esmeralda, whom he called Emmie, became a good friend. The young girl often trained or sparred with him, but Moonstone was loath to hit a woman, and always lost. Esmeralda take great joy in exploiting Moon's uncomfortable disposition around woman, taking to calling him handsome and cute at every opportunity. A furry blush is a great delight for the "young" woman.

Now, while Moonstone is still slow to anger he is a little more willing to fight. He is strong, but rarely uses his full potential unless a life is threatened. He feels it is a waist of time and effort to fight if there is no advantage to the outcome. He is not interested in personal gain or gold and glory mean little.

But behind everything is an air of sadness. Whoa to the Vah who has not found his purpose. Onyx finds pride and joy in fighting, while Moonstone found joy in only pleasing his parents. Now separated from Mother and Father, Moonstone has found little to motivate him.

Recently, he was driven to tease and attack his brother. Not entirely of his own doing, and yet the manipulation could not have taken full effect had Moon not accepted the control. Ah Vah who has experienced little emotion craves to know what he fails to feel.

10. Onyx, the Vah

Onyx is the second born to Rand and Cymarron, and the twin brother to Moonstone. One could say he is the opposite of his brother, often said the ying of the yang. While in training with his father, Saka, and Rand's spiritual guardians, he learned much in the ways of fighting. Although never yet able to beat his Moonstone ins a spar, he is quickly working his way to surpass him. Never quite as strong or quite witted as moon, Onyx soon devoted himself to speed and accuracy. Tricks of the trade were gobbled and digested, and executed with terrible skill.

Onyx is and always has been a fighter. Prone to anger, quick to criticism and suspicion, he is always ready for the fight and always looking for one. Considered a brawler, he loves to provoke and challenge. AS much as he talks, he is a Vah with a wide range of emotions, most of them bordering always on an extreme. If he is happy, he is very happy. If he is angry, he is very angry. Unlike Moonstone, Onyx is unwilling to admit mistakes or weakness, and allows himself to be ruled by his extreme emotions. Perhaps the biggest difference between Onyx and Moonstone is that while Moon is almost afraid of the opposite sex, Onyx will pursue them if given a chance.

In an odd turn, Onyx offered himself as the guardian to the little conduit child Bode. She is perhaps the only one that he has showed gentle affection. Meeting her in the barracks stable in the Deep Water Coliseum, he offered to protect her in exchange for learning how to ride a lizard. They became quick friends, and Onyx diligently kept to his word until Simon, Bode's father, was once again able to take care of her.

At the moment Onyx is concerned with the whereabouts of a slave girl, Aella Whirlwind, whom he promised an amount of protection until she found freedom, and his lizard mount, who was taken by the drow captain of Salmander's Whip, Tarathiel.

12.Malik D'vinn

The blue elf, the Tier'Dal. The wayward servant of a vengeful god. He's been dead and been resurrected, (or reborn?) He's quirk to anger, he's manipulative, and he's crafty. Well, what do you expect? He's drow, of course. Heir of his father's slave trade, Malik usually lives profitable life. However, since his involvement with the surface elf, Piper he's been thrown out of the lap of luxury...for a time at least.

Malik has given Piper a gift, a fancy necklace that turned out to be leash, control by a glove worn on his hand. So far, Malik has not been able to bring himself to ue the leash. Good for you Malik!

Coming to Labyrinth after some years of travel with his new (and younger.... giggle) love, Malik has finally found some grounds once more to call his own. Triumvirate Fortress to be precise. Here he discovered that he was not the one in charge, his alternate self had been a slave to Piper, saying little and following commands without thought. Still ever loyal, aren't you Malik?

A large part of Malik's story has so far been centered on the annual Tourney. Where warriors from every plane come to battle it out, just to see who is greater. King Dimitri, being proud as well as an idiot, poisoned Malik with tipped weapons. Piper had to visit the Oracle Mielikki to get the antidote; whole Malik suffered awful pain while in the care of Bode, the conduit child. We might say though that the taste of the cure was worse than the pain of rock spider poison...

Now, cured and in contest with the drow captain Tarathiel, Malik is working to make himself a known and active player in not only the slave trade, but anything he can get his hands on. A true businessman (dressed in black armor...like a suite!)

At the moment, Malik finds himself chasing after his love and trying to find out what mess she really has gotten herself into this time.

13. The Conduit Family

Three members, Bode, the child, Rachel, the mother, and Simon, the father. These three lived a rather peaceful life, if a secluded one. Rachel is a full-grown conduit, meaning while she doesn’t have use over her void, she can keep the dark energies at bay. Thus, they could freely walk with the population without causing much damage.

Rachel's and Simon, being the Labyrinth versions of Rand and Cymarron, met very much the same way, except that there was no manor involved, but an inn. Simon, who had been taken by Piper and thrown to her breakers, (note, not Malik's breakers) had been resting at an inn when Rachel, soaked and lonely, found her way in. They quickly bonded and married, soon having a child.

On a dark and dreary night, when they thought all was well in their little house in the country, Simon went out hunting. It was time to restock the cellar with frozen meats, as they were running low. He left, not thinking that harm would be befall his conduit family.

Piper, wanting for reason's unknown to have access to the conduits power, raided the building and had Rachel and Bode taken away. Rachel refused to allow them to use her powers, so Piper killed her. Why not just deal with the child, who was not strong enough to resist? Which is what they did.

They sent her out on a ship for Deep water, again for reason's unknown. The ship made it there...but only with the crew dead. Piper had neglected to send one of magical powers with the conduit to keep the demonic energies at bay, and Bode's bad luck slaughtered the crew.

Alone and wandering through Deep Water, trying to make sure that the "Bad People" didn't find her, she bumped into Onyx. And with his promise to protect her from the Bad People, she would teach him how to ride a lizard. The two became fast friends.

When Bode gets upset, she leaks bad luck. This is what happened one day in the coliseum during the tournament. As Bode watched Malik slaughter some guards, she became frightened of him. He was acting just like piper, when she killed her Mommy! Soon, the whole arena was coming down on top of them. As of yet, the building has not been repaired, as there is no money in the castle coffers to spare.

Bode has now been reunited with her father, who is currently taking care of her in the Triumvirate Fortress.

14. Esmeralda Murieta Guevara

Esmeralda is the peppy, happy, sexy daughter of Elias Murieta. Like her father, she has taken on many physical changes, the most current ending with some angelic-like wings. She has the sweet disposition of her adopted Mother, Nailah, and the random recklessness of her father.

As a child, Emmie was a rough tumbled. In fact...that hasn't changed. Her ability to brawl is amazing, and she does not fear a fight.

She has taken to planes jumping as well, and often finds herself following Moonstone and Onyx in hopes for a good time. She enjoys sparing with Onyx, and her favorite pastime is teasing Moonstone, who gets overly shy and bushy when she starts calling him handsome.
