 Xinavane took a deep breath as she looked out over the small pride of demon hunters. Not many of them, and plenty of cubs to watch over... not to mention her own on the way, but she already felt as thought she were part of a family. Even more than her own had been before.
Even then, she could feel her cubs kicking and moving inside her... wierd. Something she had never really expected, to be sure. But the whole thing made her feel at home. It made her happy. The whole experience was blowing her mind, even if it had brought new responsability. But at least watching the cubs she had sworn to protect, she would be a little more prepared for her own.

 Moto had finished her quick foray to gather needed herbs, returning to the dens with a small smile on her face. She had chosen a good land for them...full of life that would support them as they protected it. And the sight that greeted her made her smile grow. Her cubs were growing. Dogo was nearly an adult now, and everything was falling into place...It was perfect. Or it would have been, if not for the reason the pride existed. That sour thought almost soured her mood, but she caught sight of the black and white form watching over everyone. Steady Xinavane...Steadiest of them all, like the Earth she represented for the pride. Moto trotted over to the younger lioness. "Evening, Xinavane."

Xinavane looked over her shoulder, and smiled at her leader, "Moto, good to see you. Everything looks pretty good here." She mentioned, only momentarily stopping herself from watching the pride. She had gotten quite good at that... especially at stopping any cubs from wandering off where they shouldn't. That was one of the trickier parts of the job.
"Find everything you were looking for?" She probably had. Moto was an excellent hunter, and warrior. Xinavane looked up to her more than she had her own mother. Though... her mother had been quite busy. And she hadn't been a warrior, not like her father. No, Moto had filled the spot of 'role-model' quite well for the teenager.

Moto nodded. "I did indeed. Even found a plant I wasn't expecting. Further down the river, there's a type of wildflower growing that is excellent for calming the nerves." She had a feeling she'd need to make sure that plant wasn't over harvested...they would have rough times ahead of them once the demons got wind of them settling here. She looked to the small pride for a moment, smiling at the sight.
"You're doing a wonderful job, Xina. I have yet to hear any of the little ones complain about you, and you get along well with the rest of the pride."

"Ah, that's good... maybe I'll go and look around when I have time." Xinavane mentioned thoughtfully, though that seemed unlikely right that moment. Lots to do, so little time to do it. Plus, she didn't even want to think of the down time she would need when she finally did have her own cubs...
But still, she smiled at the praise, not expecting it, "I'm doing my best, but I'm glad to hear the others can put up with me. The little ones are so sweet... It's hard not to like them. And I like the others. It's nice to find that we have so much in common."

Moto felt...something like pride for the younger lioness. She'd made a right decision in making the female the pride's Earth. "I had always hoped the pride members would find more things in common with one another than just our mission." She smiled sadly.
"I have heard of prides that fall apart because their members drifted too far from one another. But our pride...You all have become family to me. Not just my mate and my cubs...but all of you." She chuckled. "I never thought I would let myself get close to any, and yet here I am...mother to a whole pride and my own cubs!"

Xinavane let herself smile. It gave her a sense of pride as well, to know that her cubs and family would be raised in a place such as this, where she would be able to shelter and help them, and know that other would watch out for them as she had, "I am glad as well, to find that we all have something important here. The mission is most important of course... but that we can be a community as well as warriors together shows what we are capable of." And that made her happiest of all.
"I think of you as family as well, Moto. My own... had it's difficulties. We were always loving, of course, but we didn't agree on everything. Here, I feel at peace, knowing that we are doing the right thing, and have a mission which we can achieve together. That means everything to me."
