Just wondering what it is that makes jazz so special for you.
For me, its the freedom and just the sense of joy i get when i play. With many other genres, classical more than any (at least i find), you are less free when you play. Its all do this do that, breathe when we tell you... It is also just so fun to play. I dunno... its just awesome.

haha. You're gonna have to get used to the fact that it's a pretty slow guild.
Jazz. wow. well. I think it's sort of what you said. Freedom. There's so much potential and incrediblilty when you're playing. And, though classical is more restricted than jazz, jazz is also an incredible challenge and no less hard to do than classical. Or, at least in different ways. So you have this incredible freedom, but mixed in with a huge challenge, and incredible sound...
And you know, something that always comes to mind with jazz is a revolution. I mean, it was more of a revolt, but..

I'm sure most of us could write out long philosophical articles about Jazz and why it's so appealing. But's that's useless.
Why like Jazz?
Because it's fun.

I am trying to recruit as many people as I can. I have... 1 person so far sweatdrop I know what you mean though. Jazz is an incredible challenge, but when you overcome the boundry and find your feet, there is no limit to the sounds you can achieve.

I DEFINITELY agree!! Jazz is really fun! Music you can dance to! It's also more exciting than a lot of the (modern) songs you hear on the radio. You never know exactly what to expect when listening to jazz. You can also make the music much more personal when performing it, especially compared to Classical, as someone already pointed out. Although, Romantic is sort of that way, too, but it's usually more sad or sombre. Although, jazz can be that way, too...to summarize, jazz is great no matter what mood you're in!

I like it because of... yes the freedom and the versatility of it. I can get a good feel of the music when i play it and can just go off into another world when i improvise. It also opened my eyes to alot of different styles of music. I was raised on jazz not classical so my views on music may differ.

i like how its so diverse sound wise, and how its ranges from being simplistic to extremely complicated. its fun to study jazz theres always something more to learn about it. its just a fun genre to listen to, study, dance to, play, and alot more.

I like Jazz for the emotion, the diversity, and the overall better-ness about it.
I love the feel of it, and I love how it makes me feel after listening to it. I can feel the emotion flowing through the ballads, the energy in the fast tunes, and the slap-stick humour of some songs. It's easy to just get sucked it. I'm a victum of the Vacuum that is Jazz Music. I've no problem with that at all.
