Somehow, the sands of the desert seemed... Tempting. She also wondered, was Yu here? As she walked along the very border, she wondered about who might live here. She'd heard stories, of warrior lions that were huge, hardy creatures suited to the desert. As she knocked over a rock, Shetani decided nobody could live in an inhospitable place like the desert, let alone pass through it. Not wanting to find anything out, she stuck to the border.

The evening over this part of the desert, she had to admit, was becoming... Spectacular. Sitting on a rock, Jua surveyed the land. This place they'd found themselves in, while they hated it... She found herself getting used to it. A heavy sigh escaped her, before she started down the rock formation. One could see a tousand sunsets in their life... She paused, ears twitching. Sliding the rest of the way, Jua hit the ground with a soft 'pff' from the sand. Closing her eyes and covering them, she shuddered, before the vision passed. Slowly, she lifted a paw, one gold eye glaring at nothing in particular. There was an intruder.

She'd barely stepped into the territory, interested in a strange plant right there, when she spoted a massive shadow moving closer. Hesitating, she wondered what the shadowed form's intent was, until the setting sun shone on the angry eyes. Ears falling back, Shetani turned and bolted for the border.

She could see the lion wasn't even red or black. An ideal slave, it looked, too. Picking the pace up to run, Jua stretched her whole body to run. With every beat of a paw, the metal hanging around her neck clanked and jangled, as did the circlet on her head. Stretching her forepaws forward, her claws sank into an ankle, grabbing the other lion and pulling her down hard.

Letting out a roar of pain, Shetani hit the ground hard, sliding to a stop just short of the border. It wasn't visibly evident, but she knew it was there. Struggling, she tried to kick the other lion off, but it was stronger and much larger. Claws out, she swiped at the other's face, trying to get free.

Jua let out a roar, backing up as the claws sank into her face. With a growl, she swiped her paws, simply aiming to do any bodily harm she could. It was bad enough this lion had the nerve to INTRUDE, let alone attack! As she raised her paw to strike the lion's face, she froze, one eye twitching. Orange fur, brown fur, black hair.. A lion near a large rock.. Slowly lowering her paw, Jua glared at the lioness. "Tell me your lines!"

Pain was everywhere, as Shetani struggled to keep from getting killed. When the beating suddenly stopped, she peeked at the other lion, wondering what was wrong. Why had she suddenly stopped...? At the black lion's demand, she cringed back. "M-my lines..? I don't understand what you mean!" WHAT lines?!

Letting out a frustrated roar, Jua pressed a paw into the brown lion's throat. "Your LINES! Your lineage, you dimwitted fleabag!" She lifted the paw a bit, giving room to breathe. "I need to know, before I rip your throat out and leave you for the vultures!" She paused, ears lifting and a vicious grin crossing her face. "Or would you rather I enslave your pathetic hyde?"

Eyes widening, she tried to get the paw off her wind pipe. "W-why do you need to know?!" The paw eased up and she coughed, ears back. The threats loomed, though, and she swallowed. "S-shetani, d-d-daughter of Ezeoha and K-kia! Ezeoha, son of Denahi and Rehani, D-Denahi, son of... Of... Asikari and.. Mng'Ariza..." She swallowed again, gasping for air. "Rehani, daughter of Mufasa and Sarabi... Kia, d-daughter of Danzi and--"

In a swift movement, Jua's paw moved from neck to mouth. "For the love of Finar-si, that's ENOUGH!" She made a face. "Your parents are related... Lovely..." She lifted her paw, stepping back and glaring. "No wonder you're such a pathetic wretch of a rogue." As she started to walk, Jua paused and looked back. "Get out of here NOW. NEVER show your face in these lands again. This is your ONLY warning. If you come here again, I'll make SURE Father does nothing to save his precious little grandbaby from death or slavery." Offering no more explanation, she went trotting off.

Slowly pulling herself up, Shetani could only watch the other lion in confusion. What did she mean...? Who was she refering to as father? She couldn't POSSIBLY be related to Denahi, could she? Then again... She had two grandfathers, one well known to wander far and wide... Shaking her head, she took her chance and ran from the desert. She'd never set paw there again, that was for sure!
