Why Not World is under siege at the hands of a zombie horde!

Contest closed! Results pending!

It's true! WNW is being invaded by the undead and it will be up to you to stop them! Why Not World's Assistant Deputy for the Office of the Regional Governor of Internal Affairs, Parry Potemkin, is offering rewards to the brave souls who will help rid WNW of this horrible scourge!

There will be two ways to win an award! biggrin

First of all the most dramatic and entertaining zombie slayer will be awarded an October 2008 Sealed Letter.

Second there will be prizes awarded to the zombies slayer who kills the most zombies! But it isn't that simple. We want to make sure that when we run a contest it is worth our time and effort so there is a prize reserve based on participation.

If more than 10 people participate:
The first prize will be Jinxi's Charm!
The second prize will be a Devil Imp Plushie!
The third prize will be a Nightmare Box!

If more than 5 people participate but less than 10:
The first prize will be a Devil Imp Plushie!
The second prize will be a Nightmare Box!
The third prize will be NOTHING!

If more than 1 person participates but less than 5:
The only prize will be a Nightmare Box.

Unfortunately the train service to WNW is currently shut down because the area is unsafe for civilians but on Halloween the train service will be reopened and hopefully our brave zombie hunters will be riding the rails to the area in search of their prey.

The contest will be open for all of Halloween weekend and will end on Monday morning.

The full rules will be posted before the contest opens.

RESULTS:

After verifying the top three reported scores I can announce the winners for "killing the most zombies"!

1st - Ellizabeth the Spaz with 174! (although she only reported 169 I found her score was higher when I verified it.)

2nd - disliker of the mary sue with 165!

3rd - zphal_girl87 with 160!

Yay!!! biggrin

Okay, one more winner will be announced for the dramatic/entertaining category.

You need to explore Why Not World, find all of the zombies and kill as many as you can. You can move about WNW by following the links from one location to another.


When you encounter an area that has been overrun with zombies you will see a warning in the second post of the thread. The second post will also tell you to generate a random number. You must generate the random number as directed. The number you get is the your score for that location. If you make a mistake do not delete your post! Simply make a second post with the correct values.


You may have noticed a glitch that brings up a strange screen when you attempt to generate a random number. You can still generate a number though! Just press the preview button and then look at the area just above where you type in the body of your post. You can enter the values and post normally.


When you have visited all of the zombie infested locations and made your random numbers then you should post your final score here. You may want to write your scores down as you go along to make things easier. When the contest is over the crew will verify the top three scores to determine the winners. Please do not report a false score because it won't do anything but waste time since we will verify the top scores. If you don't post your final tally we will not go through all of your posts to find it for you, it would simply be too much work for us.


If you want a shot at the prize for the most dramatic/entertaining zombie slayer make sure you write a description for each of your zombie battles. Longer is not necessarily better as a simple paragraph will often do. It may not always be necessary but it is encouraged that you write a description of what your character is doing in locations where there are no zombies present on their travels from time to time. This will make it easier to see where you've been and follow your adventure.

The crew will collectively help nominate and judge the winner for this prize.


To ensure that the contest is fair and no one is cheating deleting your posts shall be prohibited. Please edit your post if need be or if you accidentally entered the wrong values for generating a random number then go ahead and make a second post. We will be checking the logs periodically to make sure no one is deleting their posts in the WNW subforum.


Please make sure you have your zombie slaying romp wrapped up and your final score posted before 8am EST Monday morning when the contest closes.
