This is a photo of Hitomi's bloom, her swirling petals and freckled blue and yellow center are very cheerful.

This is Sarabi Adruenna. She is Hitomi's main caretaker and closest bond. She is who Hitomi refers to as 'mom'. She lives with Sarabi in their apartment above the coast.

This is Shenandoah, a stowaway who snuck aboard the ship that was shuttling Sarabi et al back from the moon. She is a Star Child. But not just any Star Child, for in her lantern she carries Polaris, the north star. She spends a lot of time with Hitomi at night watching the sun set. They've become very close friends and each have very high mutual respect for the other. Hitomi respects Shen's, apparent, never ending well of knowledge. Shen respects Hitomi's bottomless depth of creativity and inventiveness.

This is Kojak, a new friend that Hitomi has made while spending time at the shop. She is very intrigued by his calm and collected demeanor...and his tail. She has invited him to the house to come and meet her family. Kojak is also the first boy Feien she has met. For whatever reason she tends to get a bti nervous and jittery around Kojak.

This is Eurydice, she accompanied us to the moon. Trying to watch Hotomi construct a space cage for her was quite entertaining.

These are all of Hitomi's art supplies. She uses these for various things around the house. Like painting on the walls. stare

These are Hitomi's newly acquired Sprockets! She hasn't really found any useful things to do with them yet. But as they evolve and learn to speak I think they will get along splendedly!

These are Sproket upkeep devices. Thigns to teach them how to speak other language and do things around the house. Hitomi should have fun with these once she figures out how to use them properly.

9/12/04 - Hitomi's Arrival

I was out visiting Prolixity and his Fa'e child Anen when Rik, apparently, came by the house and dropped off such a magnificent gift! I approached the front stoop of my small house and saw it floating neatly in a tall glass vase. It's soft petals were just in the begining stages of opening and I quickly rushed over to it to being examining it. It is the most peculiar shade of pale pink. It's very enchanting. I sit around for hours just looking at it floating serenly in it's little pool I've rigged up for it, almost like a little pond. It seems to like the water, at least I havn't seen any kind of negative reactions so far. I'll try some different experimentations tomorrow!

9/13/04 - Experiments Begin

Starting early today I began some different tests.

I decided to start off with something mellow, soft and calming. I played some Norah Jones, just a few songs as I started getting sleepy. I then moved into some reggae jazz as I cooked breakfast for myself. After eating I sat down to read aloud to my blossom. I was in the middle of an amazing book but I decided I'd start from the begining for her benefit. So we started from Chapter 1 of The Time Traveler's Wife. It was also good to refresh my own memory. The book is absurdly amazing and I love it very much, I hope she's an intellectual and likes it as well. I moved her into the sunlight while I cleaned the house a bit, plants always seem to like sun. Especially one as bright as this one. Once my tummy started grumbling I realized that hours had gone by and I hadn't eaten. So for lunch time music I decided to play a few musical soundtracks throughout the house. Namely: Les Miserables, The Lion King, and Phantom of the Opera. I sang along to almost all the songs, hopefully that won't deter her emerging. I'm not that bad I hope. Lunch was delicious and I decided some gardening was in order. The sun was shining for most of the day and it felt good to be out in the sun, communing with nature and all that. I finally managed to get those blasted tulips planted in the green house. Hopefully they'll do better this season. I've also decided to grow a small vegetable garden this year. I've never grown vegetables, hopefully my little Feien can help with that, the others seem to do well with nature. For dinner I invited some friends over, it was a very social event. I'm hoping she didn't mind the ammount of noise we all made. My friends and I tend to get a bit noisy. Oh goodness, it is so incredibly late, I must go to bed or else there will be no time for tomorrow!

9/23/04 - Hitomi's here!

I was away for most of the day doing various errands throughout the city, going to the green grocer, running by the bank, those sorts of things. I left specific instructions for Ellimere to guard her carefully and to come alert me if anything strange began happening with the bloom. Just as I was finishing up at the book store Ellimere came swooping over my head, I only assumed that something was going on with the flower at home.

I quickly rushed back the house and ran to my study and saw a small child sitting in the middle of the wilted flower petals. She was blinking at me with her large blue eyes and her head was quirked to the side. Her hair is most peculiar. Most of it is a brilliant shade of gold but there are rich blue stripes running throughout it's length. She has wide squared off markings over chest and hip area, that are a cheerful shade of tickle-me-pink. And apparently her vision isn't the greatest due to the wide black rimmed glasses that she wears. She stood up once I walked a bit closer. We exchanged formalities and she let me know that her name was Hitomi. She's very polite and I think that we will enjoy living together immensely.

9/30/04 - Hitomi VanGogh

Hitomi has been adjusting very well to life around here. A bit hectic and scattered at times, I'm amazed that anyone could adjust so well to living with me. I'm constantly running out to take care of things, which she doesn't seem to mind. She enjoys riding with me, she says it gives her a feeling of flying faster then she actually can. She's good at building things, but she isn't so good at flying very quickly.

She's taken to my box of art supplies very quickly. She dived into the paints, which ended with her being a deep shade of poop. I cleaned her all off and she looks good as new now. I bought her some much smaller bowls of paint from the shop, much better for her size. She also stole one of my kneaded erasers to use for her sculptures. She's painted a few pictures and they are actually quite good for someone as young as she is. I can only imagine she'll get better in time, which I eagerly look forward to.

10/05/04 - We're Going Where?!

I got a call today from a dear friend, WW, who has asked me to join in on a project. It will require us to be gone for quite a while. I spent a great amount of time thoroughly discussing it with Hitomi before deciding on anything definite. She said she was always up for a new adventure, and I honestly believe her. So we set out to leave within the next few days.

WW had been contacted by an, as of yet, unknown character asking us to come to the moon. Yes, the moon. He told us that a business is being run there by a crime organization that's dealing in the trade of young alien races. He contacted her to come and rescue the adoption agency. So we're off...to the moon.

We began packing, luckily most of her things fit into a couple match boxes. And were ready to go in a couple of days. Hitomi was worried about leaving Eurydice alone for so long so I told her that if she could figure out a way to safely transport her through space then she could come along. So Hitomi set off on making a small glass case that could safely keep Eurydice oxygenated until we got to the station on the moon. Hopefully she'll be okay, I think it would be a bit devastating on Hitomi's behalf if Eurydice were to pass away while on this trip.

I can't say that I'm incredibly wary of making this trip. I've never been more than a few miles outside of town and this is very worrying. This is so much more then just a holiday, this is traveling through uncharted space to rescue some children from a wicked race of aliens. I hope that Hitomi will be okay for this trip, but in her defense she does seem quite resilient.

1/07/05 - We're home!

It's been a while. A good long while.

For the past few months Hitomi and I have been living aboard a space station on the Moon with my dear friend White Wallaby. This space station was the home of an adoption agency which got taken over my hostile foreigners who then started trying to traffic the adorable little children.

We arrived into an awaiting fleet of, Otasale, a civilized group of beings who appeared to have been sent by the name unknown source that WW and I had spoken too. As civilized as the Otasale are they are not the brightest race in the galaxy. But their strength and willpower cannot be matched. It appeared that they had been sent to be our fire power. We spoke to their leader and organized a very detailed and in depth strategy. They then infiltrated the area and seized control of the station from the Rothack, thus allowing WW and myself to go in and take care of the multitude of children that were being held there. As long as I live I don't think I'll ever see a sight as horrible and as wretched as so many children being kept in such a horrible place.

Their holding cells were dirty and smelled of waste. We quickly gathered the children and personally bathed, and fed them all, with the assistance of some of the older ones. There were mainly 4 different races represented in the group. The Nebuni, which are incredibly shy and took quite a bit of coaxing to gain their trust. They bear a close resemblance to unicorns, the older ones having a large horn protruding from their forehead. The Dralaxy are outgoing and cheerful, even in such dim circumstances they still managed to keep their head up and try and find some hope. They have a striking resemblance to small dragons. Each of the aforementioned races came in a wide variety of colorations and personalities. Some of them felt a strange attachment to various elements, their elements having some play in their appearance.

The Lunar Hounds are small, as pups, creatures apparently canine is nature. They grow to be magnificently beautiful creatures. They seem to have great knowledge of the planets and their moons, even drawing most of their appearances from those personalities.

I held a strong personal affinity to the Star Children. As babies they appear to be almost human. As they grow and mature, however, it's easy to see they are anything but. Their ears grow long and their body remains short. They carry a lantern which houses a star. There seemed to be an older child who led the group. Her name, as she later told me, was Shenandoah. Her star was Polaris.

After their initial rescue and tending to I went back to the ship to get Hitomi and let her see the now cleaned up and well-fed little folks. She enjoyed helping out and fixing things around the station. The Rothack apparently didn't have very good mechanical expertise and they let simple things like the water and electricity system get rundown. Hitomi spent most of the first day with Shenandoah walking around the station and taking inventory of what needed to be fixed. They seemed to have developed quite a bond. I had hoped that Hitomi wouldn't get too upset when she found out that we wouldn't be able to stay. But apparently by the time we had gone she had seemed to have accepted the idea and was fairly confident with it, I was actually quite surprised.

We left the station only a few days ago and are just now starting to resettle to life on Earth again. But we will be making trips back and forth often. WW and I have dedicated ourselves to making sure the colony in the station all go to good homes.

1/10/05 - Now How Did That Get There?

So apparently the reason that Hitomi didn't seem so sad for us leaving was becuase she had arranged with Shen to stowaway in a hidden compartment on the ship. So apparently Shenandoah wants to live with us now. Great. I'm not upset about it, it's nice to have a new face and someone to talk to around here. But this tiny apartment is starting to get a bit cramped. Thankfully Hitomi doesn't need much space to live in, which is always convienient. They've been spending a lot of time together. Shen leaves every night just after sunset, she says she has her reasons but she has n't divulged them to me yet. And if Hitomi knows she sure isn't spilling the beans. I trust them though. They both seem to make good judgements, so I'm not too bothered by it. Hitomi has made remarks about wanting to go with her but Shen says it's something she has to do on her own. She always comes back though. The first night I wasn't sure if we'd ever see her again, but sure enough she was back in her bed in the morning. How long she stays out, and where she goes, I suppose I'll never know.
