Well....I have software, and I can get you software cheaply. (as in very cheap, my university sells the stuff)
Great for the html and java script, do you have dreamweaver or access to dreamweaver? What do youknow about CSS?

The most I know of HTML is how to scroll text and add tables...and the basic bold, italicize, underline, font stuff. I suppose I can read up more on lissaexplains, that's where I learned some of what I know. @w@

Chiakumu Hyana Well....I have software, and I can get you software cheaply. (as in very cheap, my university sells the stuff) Great for the html and java script, do you have dreamweaver or access to dreamweaver? What do youknow about CSS? Maybe you'd be kidnapped by pirates And they would take you to their hideout As pirates often do But I'd find the secret map And I would vigilante-bushwhack Through the jungles of Peru Just to save you and I'd take you north to Mexico Ackk, Dreamweaver -_- I hated that program; it took all the fun out of coding for me. I do HTML coding, haven't done php though, but in January I'm going to school for Computer Programming and Graphics so then I'll know more. For now I can make a good "style = text/css" layout or "global head" something. Where you would tell me your life story on the steps of a Mayan temple Where we'd camp singing nonsense songs in 12 bars to the jaguars, until you'd sense me Your eyes convincing, and I would kiss you like a hero in the half-light Dryer sheets and peach shampoo, the smell of palm leaves, I'd sleep against you Until the natives found us, but they would crown us king and queen And we could stay there, spend our days there, eating guava by the sea And I could understand your views and you could fall in love with me

Dreamweaver, is...well, an essential tool, combing the essence of web-design, ftp, and multiple platforms (html, css, jsp, xml etc etc)
You can still hard code in dream weaver if that's what you prefer. After all if hard coding is better for you, then feel free. I personally use dream weaver, and it's quite versatile for my needs.
Looks like I am posting up some resources....bear with me Luvableteekerz

Forums.
Urrgh. It'd be hard to do games unless we had a game programer. I know games can be built in Flash (I've dabbled around with that but dislike it).
Guilds? Journals and profiles definitly. Clothing shops and NPCs.
Maybeh... a storyline and maps (me love maps)? PMing system. Main pages.
MP? Or would it just be an exchange forum? Oh yes and trading.
Inventory. I'm not doing that. >.>"
Account settings and options for around the site. Friendlist
That'd be the basics.

We have access to three vital resources here. One: Newgrounds, Kongregate and ArmorGames. Essentially flash based programmers but think how much other potential there is. If we can convince them to our cause we could recruit some experienced helpers. Two: Real life friends. Anyone out there in college or uni? I know at least 5 people capable of coding websites very well. I know they can set up wikis forums would be possible for them I assume. Other than that links etc would be easy. Three: Gaia itself! They provide us with the hub we need to take talent and apply it. People who are more likely to code are the intelligent people not GDG (General Discussion Generation as I like to call the newest flood of members) so we have that as an advantage. Features to be added are simple. Start with a forum. Then build from there. Remember if we follow Gaias early footsteps it should be easy. They started in exactly the same way and now look how big it is! We can emulate its early step which is from the time period we all admire.

Interesting, flash based programmers would be really useful especially during the later stages of the design.
I do 3D games design now so I've pretty much lost my contacts to the Web design folks.
I am already grabbing members from Gaia as you can see, and inviting them to join in. That is a good idea to follow in their foot steps, and we pretty much plan to, but with our own twist on the idea's.

I have membership on the Newgrounds forum but if we could get a couple of good programmers online. I mean the steady ones with a couple of dailies or weeklies (excuse the newground references but it means there flash is good enough to be kinda popular. Like B-list celebs you know?) then we have a steady dependable competent flash aspect. Another good thing is they're less oikely to have a signature art stylr they insist on using.

Lets concentrate more on the forums first. They're probably going to be the hardest thing.

They can help with that. I know more than a few of them have tried fiddling with newgrounds forums before and have knowledge of the creation of these arcane wonders. I also know of a few schooled in the arts of what you call "Profiles". Profilium Noobiscus Artifartydemonstrati in the latin.
