Well, in my marching band we have these Freshman that we call "Mathewson" (Pineapple Express???) and "Genius Boy". They seem to be the ones that are ALWAYS the last people to get set. Aaaand their names get shout out all the time! So our Marching Instructor/Alumni of our school, (He is in RCC and plays Trumpet. biggrin ) made up a game when he was a Senior at our school. This game was a called the Garret Game. (Who was also a previous Marcher... played Baritone like me... and he would fall asleep in attention! [Halo 2 all night] {this was when Halo 2 was new}...) The game is like this, if "Garret got his name called by any Band Staff... everyone drops and does 10 push-ups. Now we modified it and it is now the "Genius Boy and Mathewson Game" soooo everytime their name gets called we do 10 pushers. Well, we started this yesterday and already we have done about 110 push-ups. xd Yeah... what kind of "Punishment Games" do you have in your Marching Band?

Also another punishment is the "Wet Towel Treatment". This envolves Brass Players their wimpy-ness. If you cant hold your horn up to the Box then they put a wet towel on your bell, which adds like 15 pounds! mrgreen Don't be a wimp and point to the sky!

The one I hate the most is we have to do 15 armlifts for every person late to practice plus the 30 we do normally. (Done because on average there was at least 12 people late...) It's ok till they make you hold your arms out for 60 seconds after the lifts. After 70 armlifts you arms are weak and holding them out hurts like crap.

I remeber in 8th grade honor band if the brass didn't hold their horn up properly, they had to stand up and still hold it up. All they wanted to do after band rehersal was sit down. mrgreen

We had to run laps. If anyone was out of step or not dressed to the formation...we had to take a lap. If you didn't know your music...we all had to take a lap. We had quite a lot of running to do to say the least.

I don't know if this qualifys.
But...

We play a lovely game called DOOM!

We start the drill.
Everytime someone is not in step,
Doesn't have the proper posture,
Doesn't step off on one,
Doesn't do a hip-shift,
Forgets a move,
Talks during the drill,
Etc.

We start over!
From the beginning.

It get really annoying after awhile.

I'm gonna suggest the wet towel thing for next year. It's insane how many brass players don't hold their horns up(wait...I don't either, hahaha).

Our school didn't do this, but a school close by makes their band run laps if there's a lot of screwing around. In step to the gock block.

We do pushups for everything. If a section leader thinks you're doing them wrong, he/she has the right to whack the back of your head with a drill book. ^^ I never had to experience that, but it's amusing to watch.

It is not really a punishment game, but in band camp we play suicide Simon says with marching fundamentals it is a killer because the Drum Major gets faster and faster to eliminate all the people and they are really picky xp

This, although we call it Kill Drill and the band director/drum majors will give you false cut offs just to mess you up and have someone just walk onto the field to mess you up.

We had quigglies. 3nodding If someone couldn't do posture correctly, we had to stay in that position for ten minutes or more so that everyone would remember it. If ANYONE at all moved, we started over.

OTher than that, we ran laps and did drill over and over again until we wanted to puke marching band guts. wink

OMG.
Yeck.
I hated that.
One day I got so annoyed after doing it 90% through 6 times, that I walked instead of marched.
xD
And the BD didn't care~ because he knew I was sick and about to collapse.

Our band has one that our director made this year at band camp. He likes to call it 'tiptoe throught the tulips.' First, everyone lines up at the back sideline. Then you mark for 4 counts, march foward four counts, march backwards four counts, then mark for 8 and repeat until you get to 20 or 24. It's partially for the director's amusment because its a large band, so one half ends up about 1 beat ahead of the other half.
