Cale put the phone down and sighed, he hadn't seen his mother in ages and quite frankly; he didn't really remember what she was like. Soon he'd find out though, as the invite for her to meet them in the field for a picnic was sent out. Cale sighed again and called Fate, and ask for him to come. Of course they would have to come, the hard part was getting Spencer to come, he had hardly ever seen the child, supposedly he wasn't a screw up so Cale was glad.
Fale whined as he got changed, he was going to meet his grandmother for the first time ever. Would she like him? What would she say about his clothes? Would she insult him? He winced at the thought of being made fun of him, finally growing into a teenager took a toll on his insecurities.

"Artemis, will you calm down?!" The giraffe spotted Wayward exclaimed irritably as she watched her spastic son dash to and fro across the grass. Her tail was fluffed up a bit, but she was secretly excited to see one of her first sons again. In her arms were some drinks she had promised to bring to the picnic.
"But... Mooom! A picnic! A PIC-NIC!" The ever hyper adult said excitedly as he came up beside her, grinning from ear to ear, panting slightly from running so frantically.

Cale layed out a large blanket in a half shaded area, it would be nice to either be in the sun or shade so he figured he'd give everyone a choice.
"Hey Dad," Fale started, he paused,"What's Grandma like?"
"To be honest," Cale said,"I don't remember.
"Is Mom and Demi coming?" Fale asked, he hadn't seen either of them in the longest time and wondered how they felt about him.
"I hope so," Cale sighed,"Though this is a chance for you all to know your Grandmother and Uncle Artemis."
"I have an Unlce Artemis?" Fale asked,"I never knew that..."

"Mom, is that them? Huhhuhhuh?" He bounced up and down on his feet and rushed over without waiting for a reply from his mother, stopping just before he could run into Fale. "Hi!"
He looked over and saw his brother and grinned, his tail wagging happily now as he rushed over and pounced on his brother. "CALE!"
Braewyn rubbed between her eyes with a sigh. This was going to be a long day. In her other hand was a bag with what looked to be a soccer ball and a football, along with some cups for the drinks. "Oi!"

Fale "eep"ed and fell backwards, the older fox had come really close really fast, it shocked him. He stared as the new fox pounced on his father, figuring it was his uncle he stood up in time to hear another fox shout.
"A-Artemis!" Cale was shocked, he didn't think he'd be pounced, but what would he know? He hadn't seen his brother in forever. "H-How have you been?" He internally sighed, he had wanted Fate and Demi to be the first ones to arrive besides himself and Fale.

Artemis grinned as he got off his brother. "Googgoodgood! You?" He was as excitable as always, sitting down and panting slightly from all his running around.
Braewyn shook her head as she came up. She didn't recognise the one, but she immediately knew Cale, so decided to introduce herself to the one she didn't know. "Hey, sorry about him... I'm Braewyn."

"Mom!" Cale clung to Brae, he hadn't seen her since he was young, it had been too long but he knew he loved her anyways.
Fale was slightly shocked at everything happening so fast, he laughed nervously,"T-that's ok, he's like Uncle Shinji." He figured this must be his grandmother.

Fate slowly followed Demi to the required location; the pregnant cat was very hesitant to go anywhere lately with all the drama that had broken out everywhere but at the same time nowhere in fact... He knew he was a little paranoid about this meeting, but after meeting Cale's father and despising the b*****d he was wary about the mother too, only hoping she was more like Cale, maybe that's where he got it from?
Demi on the other hand bounced excitedly as he looked around for the familiar faces that he was to meet; he didn't know grandma or anyone else but he did know Fale. "FALE!" Demi yelled, all but forgiving his brother for the last little spat they had.

Fale looked up hearing his named called out in a very familiar voice,"Ah! DEMI!" Fale ran over to his brother and hugged him, "I missed you...."
Cale looked over at all the yelling, Fate and Demi came! There was a little doubt that Fate wouldn't show but he was glad they did. He hurriedly went over to Fate to walk him back to their picnic place.

Braewyn had stumbled when her son had clung to her, but she couldn't help but laugh a little as he went to greet the others due to show up. She set the pops and cups down, digging things out from the bag that they would most immediately need, like maybe her favorite soccer ball.
Artemis on the other hand, grinned foolishly as he followed his brother, tail wagging excitedly. "How've you been Cale? Loooooooong time no see!"

"Pretty good, how about you Artemis?" Cale said before he got to Fate. When he did he hugged Fate and whispered in his ear,"He's like Shinji." Smiling slightly Cale turned around to face Artemis,"Artemis, this is Fate, Fate, Artemis."

He had missed what had been whispered, even though his ears were pricked forward. His smile was large on his face, tail still wagging. "HI! Nice to meet you!" After a moment of staring it seemed, he grinned again. "You're Pretty!"

"I missed you too, mommy has been really busy lately so I've been helping him quite a bit." Demi informed his brother with a smile as he looked back to his parents.
Fate smiled faintly, but it was apparent he was still hesitant. "Hello, its nice to meet you to."

"Dad said we're going to have little sisters.... is it true?" Fale asked.
Cale held onto Fate a little more after hearing Artemis, he wasn't afraid his brother would try anything, it was just that Cale hadn't seen Fate in a while... right? Cale blushed, he felt foolish for thinking anything like that.

Artemis tilted his head to the side, ears perked up as he watched the pair and grinned. No, he had no thoughts of Cale liking Fate, even if his eyes were elsewhere. He was just always happy and cheerful.
