I'm curious as to what the fellas down here at the Army think of the series. Has anybody read it? If so, did you like it? Why or why not? What did you think of the most recent installment, Brisingr? How do you think the series will end? And anything else you can think of to say on the subject.

Me, I think that Arya will probably become the Green Dragon's rider, and after Galbatorix is defeated, she and Eragon will leave Alagaesia in the hands of Roran. They'll fly to another country, and the Age of Dragons will end. (Just wild guessing, mind.)

Me? Captain Chang Wang? Read anything except Sports Illustrated, a select few articles in the newspaper, Texas Monthly, Rifleman, and other assorted Texan favorites? About as likely as the Pope taking a morning stroll through Hell.

No, not you, silly. I was talking to the intellectual guy standing behind you.

...Who doesn't seem to be here at ALL.

I got pretty upset when the trilogy became a cycle. I found the first book "good", not "great". Eldest got a bit carried away, there is just too much information. Brisingr was released in late september... my boyfriend brought me a copy in early october and I spent my vacation in Europe reading it. It doesn't work. I had to start over all the series because the boy (Paolini) wants to be J.R.R. Tolkien! During school and high school, I would just sit in the very end of class and forget about the teachers while reading whatever I wanted. I did that quite a lot during some classes of university too. Unfortunaly I can't sneak a book during work and forget about, you know, work. But I digress...

I don't know what will happen exactly untill the end. I'm not sure Saphira will survive. It would be a very happy ending, just not right with the flow of facts. Unless Lots of wild dragons show up from freaking out of Alagaesia, I don't think a happy end would fit. Galbatrix has to be stoped, but Eragon is not the one to give the final blow... his brother has to be saved... Elves should leave the Alagaesia... Big horhned brutes whose names I forgot right now might migrate too or became less brutes or be extinct... Dwarves might blend a little more with humans. Eragon and Roran are probably descendent of Palancar King, what would make Roran some kind of royalty when the rider leaves with the elves.

Do you agree with some of it?
