Keeping a piccolo in tune? You have to be kidding.

Well, it's really hard, but it is basically like any other instrument. Just learn the inclinations of the piccolo, and learn what you have to do.

Now, the air speed you'll need is a lot faster. And, a tighter and smaller embochure (I don't know if I spelled that right). Try to blow your air down, and that's it, I think...All that I can think of.

I hate the piccolo.

Try looking at ichigos.com/sheets

There aren't many pieces for flute there, but there's a couple. Most of it is for piano.

Your going to have to tighten your face muscles a lot more than you do with the flute. Your face is going to hurt a little in the beggining

Keeping a piccolo in tune? You have to be kidding.

I hate the piccolo.

Stop being such a Debbie Downer! I love my baby! Especially since it came back from the doctors office. My foster child was a tyrant.
Shall I translate?
My piccolo was in desperate need of a tune-up. So I took it in. My band rental hadn't been played in forever, and it wouldn't play B flat with the normal fingering, and the high F (you know the flicking people off F) was so sharp, i had to use the alternate B flat thumb fingering to bring the pitch down.
You just have to get the piccolo nice and warmed up, and then, sit down with your tuner, and figure out if it goes extreme one way or the other. Then, you FIX IT!
Step 1: FIX!
Step 2: IT!
Step 3. FIX IT!
Step 4: Repeat if necessary.

If you work on pitch, and practice going back and forth between flute and piccolo, you will go far!
That's the best advice I can give.

piccolos are extremely hard for sounds. i could barely get it out myself.
tuning i'm not sure of. i didn't know how to tune until last year, and i played piccolo a year before that, so i don't know.

when tuning, start with the head completely pushed in, and pull out until its in tune
also, if you dont know how to already, i suggest you learn how to tune by rolling your mouth piece in and out. for the past 8 yrs, the one thing i learned is that even though its in tune now, it wont be in tune later. you need to be able to tune on the spot.
well i hope this helped, and good luck 4laugh

My teacher told me that tuning for Piccolos.. is opposite to tuning for flutes.

For flutes. You go sharp when you angle your air in the tube more and flat when you make the air go up.

For piccolo, the more you angle in, the more flat you get. So always play with a tuner just to see if you're going off.

Another tip. Your emboushure should be away from your teeth so you get more flexibility cause piccolos get quite a lot of octave pitches and you'll look crazy moving your head trying to hit the nice sweet spot for the notes. *stuff like E3*
