I know there was a girl who had a topic earlier about hearing her name. That's happened to me before; like I could be reading a book in silence and all of a sudden something would just overwhelm me and I'd hear this loud whisper saying my name. It always left some kind of physical affect on me, like I'd hear a ringing in my head and it would break my concentration, or it would give me a headache, or my vision would blur even with my contacts in or my glasses on. Mostly head stuff, sometimes one of my legs would go numb, but that only happened twice and it was while I was standing up.
This is kind of similar, it just happened to me this morning.
I was laying in bed, and I fell asleep about 10:30 this morning after reading from 6:00 on (I have a weird sleep schedule). And I know I was dreaming about something (Hell, the dream isn't even important. I was just thinking about my RP character before I fell asleep and had a dream about her current situation in the story). Part-way through the dream I woke up to this overwhelming feeling and I heard mumbling, but it wasn't like anything I've experienced before with the whispers just saying my name or even talking to me. Because the mumble didn't sound directed at me because it sounded like a bunch of people talking all at once. I just brushed it off as another whisper and thought "Hey, if I ignore it, it'll stop like it always does."
So I close my eyes to go back to sleep and it happens again, only it got louder and I heard silverware clinking against plates and a loud woman talking in gibberish (I think at the time I knew what she was saying, but when I think back to it all I can hear is gibberish) and then she started laughing. And it stopped. Once again, nothing like I've ever experienced but I brushed it off. I was starting to get annoyed because I was (am) very tired and just wanted to sleep.
Once again I close my eyes to try and sleep and it happens AGAIN. But it's louder this time and I could hear the lady more loudly. I remember thinking "Just ignore it and it'll stop." But once that thought crossed my mind it started to get even louder to the point where it was unbearably loud. Then I remember thinking "Just shut up!"
And it exploded. Or sounded like an explosion. I went temporarily deaf and blind, as well as paralyzed. It felt like my entire body was numb, my ears were ringing and I couldn't hear anything but the high pitched ringing. I tried to move my arm that was holding my stuffed panda (yes, I'm 19 and I still sleep with a teddy bear) and I think my entire body convulsed. I wasn't entirely sure because I couldn't feel anything. I remember trying to keep my teeth together and it felt like a vibration was going through my head, then I know I was trying to bite my tongue (you know how you bite random parts of your mouth after the dentist stick you with Novocaine? it was something like that) and I couldn't feel it.
After about five minutes the ringing died down and the numbness went away and I could finally open my eyes. I was originally laying on my side, but when I opened my eyes I was laying on my back and looking at the ceiling. I was also very hot and soaked with sweat and shaking.
So I carefully turned back onto my side and tried to turn on my phone to see what time it was (along with holding back vomit). And every time I went to grab my phone, my hand would cramp up. So I let it sit for a few seconds before trying again, and when I turned on my phone it was exactly 11:11 am.
I discussed it with my boyfriend and he seems convinced it was a premonition because I've never felt anything that powerful except when I was dreaming. And I doubt it was the whispers because they wouldn't have tried so hard to get my attention.
Sorry for the TL;DR. I just thought I'd get every little detail in before I started forgetting, like I forgot what the woman was saying, but it's just gibberish to me now. It didn't even sound like English. Hell, every time I try to recall it now I start getting a headache and it gets worse and worse each time.
I thought I'd share with you guys because I'm honestly not sure what it was. It sounded like I was in a restaurant or a dining hall or something.
And before anyone asks: Yes, I'm positive I was awake. After the first time I heard it I was trying to fall asleep but it takes me a long time to even fall asleep after hearing a regular whisper, and this was different. It was definitely more powerful. I'm not trying to get defensive, I just know the question will pop up. It was the first thing my boyfriend asked me and even the first thing I asked myself. But the second time I heard it, I opened my eyes and I was staring at my mirror across my room and looking at my reflection to make sure nothing was near me.
