I notice that no one has created a thread to brag (or complain) about our aquariums. I am finding this learning curve to consume my thoughts and attention. So I think we'd better start commiserating!
Because I took-the-plunge only on Wednesday, my Overseer has so far done absolutely nothing. I've heard tell that this feature has been broken only since about then, which leads me to the fear that I've done something which brought about the crash of the entire venue. redface Can't be me, I mean, come on!
Not to mention that the click-box indicating whether to include visibility of my aquarium in my siggy being non-responsive since Wednesday (at least) also! Overall, Aquariums seem rather disappointing. But I know that these glitches will get speedily solved. And I am so excited to build up a happy tank (or two) and show you all my happy pets.
What have you found out?

I've discovered that the Aquarium-in-siggy thing doesn't work within guilds, but they show up fine out in the regular forums. Yet another reason they need to get the guilds up-to-date, sheesh. Also it would be nice if there were a personal link to our aquariums we could post in forums so we didn't have to have them in our sigs.
The overseer hasn't been working for me lately either, I'm glad it's not my poor fish-keeping that's the problem. xD I opened my fish inventory the other day to discover I have TWO cuttlefish! I've been checking Daily Chance every day, but I never saw any of them reward me cuttlefish, so these are a mystery to me. Also they don't seem to be as easy to please as the other fishies I have...their happiness is consistently low. sad

Mine has been silent also. I'm somewhat glad about it for I don't like aquariums that much. Maybe they are solving the problem with items that Overseer gives. Those have no value anymore and I already started to wonder where I put them if there comes more of same stuff.

I heard a rumor that perhaps the "granting power of the Overseer" is down beacuse they are loading new prizes. hmm. One can only hope. (But I don't think that they would interrupt the prize granting in order to do something as routine as updating the prize list.)
And re: the siggy-guild issue! Yet another disappointment. wink But I still find my fishies fun. My goldfish are actually really affectionate. I've noticed that they seem to know where my cursor is even when I don't tap the glass. Whenever I just hold the cursor still, two in particular, will come to that spot and just hang there. Then if I move the cursor, they watch it move and then move over to it. So sweet!
I think today I will unleash the arrow-fish that came free. I mean, I have to use them eventually and I've done all I can for the goldies for today. Is it true that the fishie-happiness and tank-health only change once per day? (I mean regardless of the changes I make during the day?)
I keep selling my cuttlefish because I just cannot bear their noses. eek I'm sorry that they are so sad. I've read several times that they need to have the companionship of other cuttlefish in order to get happier. Have you loaded more than one into your tank?

I wish I could trade you your goldfish for my arrow fish! But the ones that came free are stuck with us. I'm going to run and check my other account to see if I've been given any arrows from daily chance. brb

Edit: looks like they're done messing with the aquariums; I just re-visited mine and the overseer gave me yet another mantle, plus the happiness meters look different.
Still have sad cuttlefish, though! xD

We just feed them every day and tap on the glass a few times each day, and the fishes seem content enough. All have 4 hearts but the cuttlefish. Eirwyn's aquarium has the highest health rating at about 28% so far.
I think the longer the life span of the fish, the slower to please them.
Also--the fish apparently leave you their belongings when they perish. The goldfish likely leave gold. They used to be very cheap on the MP but just after the first generation died the price spiked suddenly. I wonder what the other fish will give? And does the size of the fish matter in this? Whatsit's cuttlefish is small and stays so. Eirwyn's was large from the first day. Goldfish have differing sizes as well.

I've only tried goldfish, so far. But I noticed that the one that I bought was noticeably bigger than the ones that Gaia gave with the tank. But since mine are still too young to die, I don't know if that means anything. I also don't know if future fish will have differing sizes. :shrugs: We'll find out. . .

I got 5 goldfish drops, which granted me 2 gold heart hairpins and 3 gold tiaras. stressed I hope the other fish drops are somewhat better.

My overseer wasnt granting for a few days either, but hes working again now..more lidless armour...wooo.... gonk
My tanks is at 35% happiness and my 3 cuttlefish are moody and ungrateful too, arrow fish are happy and cheerful though! If they change the prizes once in a while i'll be a happy bunny.

I forgot how to operate a screen-shot on my mac. But as soon as I figure it out I will post a shot of mine. The masks are cute!
FYI: I learned today that the cuttlefish dislike the "I heart fish" background. If you have that up, try switching to see what happens.
