I recently found out that the Wicked Avatar's effect;

This card cannot be Special Summoned. This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set except by Tributing 3 monsters. Your opponent cannot activate Spell or Trap Cards until the end of their 2nd turn after this card is Normal Summoned. The ATK and DEF of this card are each 100 points higher than the highest ATK on the field (except "The Wicked Avatar"

This effect is continuous so when it was summon and the strongest monster was you're Elemental Hero Avian with 1000 attack, it will become 1100 however if you place a magic card to reduce this guy attack like Trice Sword which reduces the attack by 500 and attack twice the Wicked Avatar's effect reset himself to its 1100 because its a continuous effect and if you tribute summon Avian and summon let say a Summon Skull you then have 2600 which can attack twice and even you tribute summon Skull for Great Maju Garzett and which turn active Great Maju Garzett effect turning him 5000 attack! The Avatar would be 5100 and attack twice!

Also this applies with cards like Legendary Fiend who each stand by phase gain 700 attack so sense Legendary attack goes up by 700 then Avatar's attacks would go up by 800 each turn razz This an unimaginable power up that can last for ever

Actually, Trice Sword would be a continous effect as well... keeping his attack points 500 points less.. because if it constantly fluctuated like that, then it would lock the game and result in a draw.. similar to an infinite loop combo.. goes down by 500, then back to 1100, down by 500, then back to 1100.. I'm pretty sure equip spells trump continuous effects here, but the rest of it is sound. If you think about it, Wicked Avatar could never be destroyed in battle..

well the official tournament rules apply the effect of the magic card only lasting one time over the infinite effect of the Avatar and no the Avatar is impossible to take out in battle, because of his tremendous raw power

Oh. Sorry, thought Trice sword was an equip from your description, not a one time spell. ::Shrugs:: still, with it's power, anything that attacks still loses since it constantly resets to have the strongest power.

actually Twin sword is an equip card.

Defeating the Wiked Avatar:
stall til you can use your spells and traps; then it's as simple as Hammershot (destroys monster with highest attack on field) or compulsory evacuation device (send one monster on your opponent's side of the field to it's owner's hand).
From the monster effects angle, morphing jar #2 (shuffle all monsters on the field into their respective decks and draw until both players have the same number of level four or lower monsters as there were returned to their deck, all other cards are discarded to the graveyard), Man-eater Bug (FLIP:destroy one monster on the field), or a monster that returns opponent's monsters to their hand(winged reptile, guardian statue, guardian sphinx, golem sentry, ect.).

So then would Trice Sword Reduce Wicked Avatar's attack, or keep it the same while still enhancing him? That is the question.

I checked the card rulings and the Wicked Avatar's effect immidiately raises its ATK/DEF back to the strongest monster +100

Hmm. Then Renton is right. That is Quite the Combo. Except, based on the card text, it's worthless against Defense position Monsters, and if you opponent has no monsters, he's useless, since he'll have no attack points. Best way to beat him would be Ben's suggestions. Stall with defense till you draw a card capable of taking it out, keeping your stronger monsters in your hand. Or Get out a defensive line with cards with higher defense points than attack points.

You can just have to play another monster to keep wicked avatar's power up, keep playing high ATK monsters like Goblin attack force and Zombrya the dark and you can just about always win!
But I like the Wicked Dreadroot better 4000ATK/DEF and he halfs all other monsters ATK!

All the cards that begin with Wicked seem very.. Evil.

I wonder if they'll get banned for being too powerful? Oh wait, they won't because no one will play them in the world tournaments.. Anyone else notice that in Yugioh, only like 5% of the cards in new sets are played at higher up tournaments with any frequency? you may see an occasional other card, but others just kinda.. Never show up. Like monsters requiring 1 or more tribute. Unless it's really good, nobody plays them in the higher tournaments.. ::Shrugs:: I should make a rant on why i detest yugioh..

Everyone's a little...off once they get to the tournament level. Renton has likened them to card playing zombies...

I like zombies but I could never use my zombie deck in a tournament because it takes too long to kill someone in the tournament and for them if its not 3 to 5 kill then your a loser
