IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO USE THIS FEL ESSENCE PLEASE PM ME.[Introduction/Prologue] Given that you're looking through this thread. I figured I'd give you an introduction and a brief overview of what to expect in here. This is for my Raeven concept Therapeutic Miasma which someday I hope to own. If you take the time to read though my concept I'm saying thank you in advance since I might not get around to saying it till later. Which is a bad thing.
If anything, this thread is for me to add and combine ideas that come to my head. Anything in here is subject to change and will probably be a jumble of words that won't make sense. I appreciate CC [constructive criticism] and just random ideas in general.

Critique on Fel Essence, Soul Choice and Raevan.

[Fel Essence] Fel #1 Name: Therapeutic Miasma
Therapeutic;; relating to the treatment of disease; beneficial
Miasma;; an unwholesome, foreboding atmosphere; an unpleasant vapor, as from decaying swam matter.
Description: Miasmas are well known for their fetid stench and a belief, long since disproven, that they would cause serious sickness and, in some cases, death. Housed inside this vial though is a swirling, sinister black cloud of poisonous vapor; full of particles of decomposed matter. Instead of emanating the noxious scent it’s known for, it gives off smell that is most calming and rejuvenating; each person who comes into contact with its aroma claims to smell something different – a scent that they find personally pleasing. Calm minds, rejuvenation of the soul, and soothing your weary body are just a couple of its side effects. The longer you stay within its presence, the stronger the effect the miasma has on you, with the smell becoming more pleasurable and the relaxation you experience being maximized to its fullest extent. Echinopsis is a large genus of cacti native to South America, sometimes known as hedgehog cacti, sea-urchin cactus or Easter lily cactus. One small species, E. chamaecereus, is known as the peanut cactus. The 128 species range from large and treelike types to small globose cacti. The name derives from echinos hedgehog or sea urchin, and opsis appearance, a reference to these plants' dense coverings of spines.
Echinopsis is distinguished from Echinocactus by the length of the flower tube, from Cereus by the form and size of their stems, and from both in the position on the stem occupied by the flowers. Description: Due to the lack of information on this particular species, information on poison dart frogs in general will be posted.
These species are active during the day and often exhibit brightly-colored bodies. Although all wild dendrobatids are at least somewhat toxic, levels of toxicity vary considerably from one species to the next and from one population to another. Many species are critically endangered. These amphibians are often called "dart frogs" due to indigenous Amerindians' use of their toxic secretions to poison the tips of blowdarts.
Most species of poison dart frogs are small, sometimes less than 1.5 centimetres (0.59 in) in adult length, although a few are up to 6 centimetres (2.4 in) in length. They weigh about 2 grams, depending on the size of the frog. Most poison dart frogs are brightly colored, displaying aposematic patterns to warn potential predators. Their bright coloration is associated with their toxicity and levels of alkaloids. Possibly means "cut up" in Greek. Asklepios (Aesculapius to the Romans) was the god of healing and medicine in Greek mythology.
Fel Essence : Therapeutic Miasma

Abilities :
Aromatherapy/Miasma&Noxious Odor Emission[passive/active]
xxxxxxxxxxAsklepios has the ability to release a pleasant aroma from the body as a mode of seduction or attraction.
The scent he gives off is different for each person. Jezabroux might smell chamomile while another person might find themselves smelling mint. As he grows the ability will be similar to how perfumes are made. There will be a top note, middle note and base note. The fragrances will become more complicated and the effects of the smells will be compounded to provide a broader healing effect.
Sporadically, Asklepios's emotions can affect the scent he gives off. If he has been badly frightened then he might give off the smell of a passion flower, a plant commonly used in aromatherapy as a tranquilizer and hypotensive sedative. On the flip side, when terrified or aggravated or threatened, Asklepios can secrete a type of 'repellent' keep individuals away. The odor is released physically, but changes based on what kind of smells the 'opponent' finds offensive. As he gets older, he'll be able to use this as an active skill both offensively and defensively.
Asklepios will be able to exude toxic gases at will, through the skin and by exhalation. This gas or miasma is usually a highly potent version of carbon monoxide or some other poisonous gas. The gas generated could range from nerve gas and laughing gas to highly-concentrated chlorine and mustard gas. However, Asklepios can only use this ability if he has fed on a particularly concentrated source of air earlier and it leaves him feeling sick and tired as well. [And as Platy has pointed out, this won't be available until Asklepios is much older.]
Superhuman Smell or Supersmell [passive]
xxxxxxxxxxAsklepios can smell odors with more clarity and range than your average human and Raevan. Even to the point of distinguishing subjects by their scents; he can track subjects and distinguish between simultaneously-occurring smells ; however, he is also involuntarily sensitive to loud or strong smells, aromatic attacks and nasal-based allergens.
Personality : Contrary to his very... impressive appearance, Asklepios will be shy. The blossoms that come from an Echinopsis genus cacti rarely last for a long time, usually blooming at night and dying by sunrise, these flowers are said to be 'shy' due to the short duration of their lives.
In that aspect, Asklepios will be very introverted, quiet and resigned to few words. Easily overwhelmed in any type of social setting, he'll be very succinct in speech and easily flustered when approached by the opposite sex. Frustrated by his inability to communicate with others in the way he desires, he'll be wary about meeting new individuals. Ironically, his desire to have friends has him showing up at many Lab related social events.
Because of how challenging it is for him to make friends, he'll be very protective of them. Furthermore, Asklepios is by nature a jealous individual so when his friend(s) talk of another friend he'll be inclined to even less words and his comments will display open hostility towards the subject. Nevertheless, Asklepios would gladly offer a shoulder of comfort to whoever seeks it.
Though shy, Asklepios is far from being meek. Asklepios is quite spirited and will fight to the death for something he believes in. Like the spines on a cactus, Asklepios will retaliate against those who rub him the wrong way. His shy nature gives the illusion of him being easy to manipulate. With that, Asklepios has realized it is important to be sharper than your average tack.
Asklepios happens to be a dreamer. Unlike his guardian who's very down to earth, Asklepios idolizes and forms unrealistic expectations. He has a strong romantic streak and that tends to compound with his weak social skills creating very awkward situations for him.
Feeding :

xxxxxxxxxxAsklepios would essentially be a walking air filter. A miasma was classified by having a foul smell composed of decaying matter, so for Asklepios to feed all he would have to do is breathe polluted air. The pollution can be both natural and man made. However, Asklepios does better when he feeds on natural pollutants.

xxxxxxxxxxAsklepios can convert light energy to chemical energy and store it in the bonds of sugar. However, since he has the soul of a cactus he's prone to sun burns and prefers indirect sunlight. Thus, it is an ineffective method of feeding regularly, it is however a great way for him to 'snack' until he can make the next feeding when he's enduring prolonged periods between fel feedings.
Appearance:
Just a reference of how I imagined his hair and face. Somewhat feminine yet clearly masculine from the sharp nose and chin.

LOOKS : Tall and lean, Jezabroux has the body of a swimmer. With natural bicolored hair (a result from an incident in China) and heterochromatic eyes (requiring a patch to hide the more unnatural); the male is hard to miss. He prefers to dress professionally at work with designer suits and a lab coat, though at home he becomes rather informal and picks sweaters and slacks. Jezabroux has a tattoo from high school on his left wrist, an uoroboros. He got it as part of a group act with his friends, and still thinks on it fondly.
PERSONALITY : Jezabroux is motivated, attending to each task to the best of his abilities, particularly with his patients. A sensitive individual, he has developed and maintains a profound relationship with all of his clients. With a boundless source of patience and a warm smile, he welcomes all into his office for a drink or conversation.
Jezabroux exudes a serene air, quite helpful when dealing with his senior patients; many of whom require a sedative that isn’t a synthetic drug. Like any individual, he’s prone to stress and works it off by swimming. He has a long tether of patience and when involved in conflict, he tries to deal with it maturely by reigning in his emotions and keeping a calm mind instead of striking with physical blows or sharp words. However, Jezabroux is no god of patience and has times when he can’t hold in his anger anymore, leading to rare explosions that leave the man feeling guilty and ashamed over his behavior.
As an acupuncturist, Jezabroux constantly worries that he might make a careless mistake and ruin a client’s health. Though he has only made such a mistake twice in his career, it was an experience that racked him with remorse. To avoid making such a mistake again, Jezabroux has developed a mild case of OCD. And while Jezabroux knows when to relax his mind and body, he doesn’t seem to know quite how to relax without feeling conscience-stricken.
HISTORY : Jezabroux was born to an upper middle class family. Years of thrift left behind a considerable fortune and he grew up in an environment with few but necessary restrictions. Like most, his parents emphasized the importance of a strong academic background in order to be successful in the future.
In middle school, he discovered swimming and it eventually served as a catalyst to help found social skills. Jezabroux was a dedicated student and athlete through his high school years, graduating as valedictorian and swim team captain.
Having decided he was going to be an acupuncturist from a young age after visiting a family friend’s acupuncture clinic, Jezabroux flew to China after graduating high school. Where, without further ado, he immersed himself in the study of acupuncture and eastern folk medicine. There, he gained the majority of his experience and expertise in his field of study.
After returning from his twelve year study in China, Jezabroux became a Gaia certified acupuncturist and applied for work at local clinic. Since then, it has been five years and he continues to work at Hua-Ahn Acupuncture Clinic with no signs of leaving to start his own branch. The lowest price that I would accept at the moment for semi-customs are at least TWO Angelic Minis. [.02] Why is the price difference so huge?Because RP event's purpose is to gather good role players as owners, and not a lot of them are very rich. While Customs and auctions are targeted to a different group of people. [.03] What are semi-customs?Semi-customs are simpler versions of full customs. Instead of the all out full custom form, people that ordered semi-customs can only choose the fel essence, soul, gender and alignment for their Raevan. The other aspects of the Raevan's design will be decided by Kyou. [.04] Are they the same price as full customs?No, they are generally cheaper. Probably half the price of full customs. I don't know if you wanted us to post them here, but I really like your ideas! However, I think it's possible that some of the active abilities of the raevan himself could be considered a bit too close to godmoding...
The essence itself is interesting, however you might want to include a piece of the plant that the Thorn came from, as thorns in themselves do not often have a scent. The waxy coating that makes a thorn stiff enough to injure tends to inhibit scent... but that's just my thoughts on the thing. biggrin GOOD LUCK!

[ I like how the venom of the thorn remains part of your raevan through you whole decription of him, from what I can see he is quite a poisionous character; manipulative, uncaring, he doesn't seem a very nice person - just like his not very nice essence and soul. ( I hate it when I see people who have very evil looking characters with dark pasts who act normal or nice.. It just doesn't fit.. XD )
How long would you say 'extended exposure' is? Would it mean that if you lived near this raevan for a while the toxins would build up in you slowlly killing you? Because if so your raevan's guardian is gonna end up dead... >.> Maybe if your raevan gets stressed his toxin level becomes more concentrated and thats when exposure can lead to trouble? And normally extended exposure had just minor effects like bad headaches or something..? It could be quite funny to see how Kazen manages to keep all her fles perfect with a splitting headache. 8D ]

Anyways, back to the subject of Tama's breath. You have a really good point. Lemme try describing how it works to you.
Better than how it's written up there.
Have you ever sniffed a friend's breath up close? Like... 1-2 inches away?
That's what I'm talking about. Like other Raevens or guardians standing 1-2 inches away from Tama's mouth sniffing his breath because it smells like Vanilla. 2-3 minutes of that and you're going to become dizzy. But human and Raevan bodies can remove the waste again, as it only lasts for a few seconds to a minute. Or else they'd be dizzy forever. >_>''
As for Kazan, she doesn't do stuff like that. While Tama breathing would release the toxins in the air, I figured. His little diet ability would kick in. The toxins that are floating around in the air get absorb back into his body in a way such that it's a cycle. That or the toxin starts to unstablize because of the oxygen causing it to break down into scientific organic elements. biggrin
While Kazan would have some of the poison in her body, it wouldn't be enough to kill her. Just maybe leave her sore time to time. But I'm sure she can get rid of that by just doing a body detox or something.

Hm, good ideas and good research, but for the malevolent thorn I'm not quite sold... mostly because it sounds like a thorn that might exist in real life (exuding a chemical). The fact that the thorn had healing properties before the storm sounds too unreal already, to me...
I personally like the miasma idea better. It truly takes something that has no possible way of being "therapeutic" and making it thus. biggrin
For a Soul, I'd suggest something other than a Nue. Just for artistic reasons: your Raevan would end up looking like nothing in particular because it would be so many things combined, you know what I mean? Take Lucia for example, she was a Cat soul and it makes her avatar more pleasant artistically. I can understand that a chimera soul is interesting, but try to consider how Kyou would have to draw that Raevan. She couldn't include something from all those animals and still make it look obvious that it was from a Nue. You know what I mean? wink
Your guardian seems like a good person! She would love Aphismet, since he's a chef, hahah! XD

I like the niddhog (sp?) but it's a singular monster, so that's usually not allowed... You'd be better off taking "a monstrous serpent with wings" or something like that, not a monster that's completely unique. For example, someone can't take Cerberus himself, but they CAN take a monstrous three-headed dog, since we then assume that there's a race of them.
Also, since the Yggdrasil tree is a major central part of Kyou's Raevan storyplot, it might be considered a little too... I don't know what word to use? Important? Well, what I mean is that you shouldn't take souls/essences that link you to the Yggdrasil closer than anyone else, just for fairness' sake. wink
