Lately Khamsyn had been spending the vast majority of his non-class time either locked away in his room studying or in the library both studying and working. He was aware of his recent anti-social behavior, and vowed to take the whole day off. He wouldn't go in to work on the current book he was restoring, he wouldn't bury his nose a text for class or personal advancement and he wouldn't hide himself away where no one could approach him and vice versa. There was more to life than studies and learning. It was time he stretched his social muscles and restored his interpersonal skills.
Closing his door behind him, he began to wander. He walked past several of the class rooms, by the teachers lounge, past the library, stopped in the banquet hall for a sac lunch to take with him, and eventually found himself in a place he'd yet visited. The Flora Gardens. He entered a little tentatively, not because of nervousness, but for fear of crushing something while he was gawking at the beautiful of the foliage around him. Treading carefully, he took in everything. The tree's, the flowers and the insects that were necessary to the processes going on all around him. As he leaned in to smell a captivating purple flower, his stomach growled audibly and he couldn't help but chuckle.
It didn't take him long to find a nice shady stop under a large willow tree to eat his lunch. Sprawled out underneath it he picked up an apple he'd brought with him and started munching. He sat there and lounged, wondering what the other students might be up to.

There was a mumbling and rustling as Nadyrr pulled himself from some of the more prickly garden plants; it wouldn't have been such an issue had he not been worried about the plant in general. Frowning he looked down at his over sized shirt; with a slight glare at the Acacia tree that had assaulted it earlier and tugged the top off so it wouldn't catch so easily. "Now just need to worry about my skin," glancing over Istas snuffled at him slightly. Shaking his head Nadyrr tied the shirt around his waist and then started off down the path carrying a basket that held bits of the trees he had been pruning; it wouldn't do to have the lovely trees turn into bushes after all.
Istas ran ahead of him down the path moving playfully she would pause and tilt her head to look back at him. As they neared the more often used paths of the garden Istas paused a moment looking ahead, the hybrid's eyes moved over the Empyrean sitting under one of the willow trees most times she would have left a random student alone but then she remembered him. It was the boy from the party, remembering the sushi she sniffed the air it seemed he had food with him this time as well. Dashing forward she made her way to under the tree pausing in front of Khamsyn a moment before moving forward to nose at his lunch bag curiously.
Nadyrr stopped on the path frowning faintly when he didn't see Istas for a moment. Looking around he finally caught sight of her and Khamsyn under the tree. It looked like she was assaulting the poor boy's lunch; sighing Nadyrr hurried over with his bucket of clippings under his arm. Whistling sharply he motioned Istas back toward him and then looked to Khamsyn. He was fairly certain he had seen the other boy at the party thing Belwen had held. Flushing slightly he looked down at Istas and then Khamsyn, "sorry about that she doesn't usually uhm...yeah." Nadyrr cleared his throat and ran a hand through his straw colored hair, "hi..."
He hoped the other boy wouldn't be angry, he didn't deal well with anger. As that thought drifted through he glanced down and flushed again realizing he didn't have a shirt on.

Khamsyn wasn't really paying much attention to ground level when Istas appeared in front of him, drawn by familiarity and the smell of food. His attention was in the sky instead, staring through the boughs of the tree. So when he heard something nudge against his lunch bag, his eyes widened in surprise as his glance shot earthward again. The surprise dissapated quickly as he saw the source and recognized the hybrid from the sushi party at Belwen's. With a smile he reached out and drew the lunch bag closer. "Hey there little guy. I remember you... Istas wasn't it? I think that's what Belwen said your name was. Are you hungry?" Reaching into the bag, Kham drew out some pita bread and hummus in a small container. "Do you like hummus?" He asked seconds before a half naked Nadyrr appeared as well.
Looking the Choleric young over as he approached Khamsyn was once more stuck by the amazement that was the different skin tones all Empyreans had. It seemed no two had the same tone and it was wonderful. So many colours of the spectrum. Of course, as he was thinking about this he was likely staring. Nadyrr might have even thought Khamsyn was staring at his as well because he shyed visibly. "Well hello there." He responded, trying to ease any nervousness. "Oh he's not really bothering me. I was just sitting here relaxing. I'm guessing but, you must be Nadyrr right? Belwen said Istas, if I have that name right, belonged to someone named Nadyrr."
Standing, Khamsyn shifted both pita bread and hummus to one hand extending the other for a handshake. "I'm Khamsyn by the way. Care for some hummus?"

Cypress had just come into the gardens, Raya floating along behind her, both of them glancing about every which way. Drawn for some reason to a small crop of sunflowers, with their sunny heads pointed skyward, Cypress headed towards them, arms behind her back in her usual, slightly shy, slightly ditsy posture.
She walked right past the group of other Empyreans on the other side of a line of bushes and trees, not noticing that they were there at all. Raya, however, wasn't quite so absent-minded. In fact, Raya was quite captivated by another hybrid; she'd never met one before, and she couldn't stop staring! She chittered excitedly, trying to get Cypress' attention. Finally, she took her bird-like legs and grabbed at Cypress' shirt, tearing claw-shaped holes and nearly cutting off the entire arm from her grab at the shoulder. Hey! Cut it out! Cypress said as she turned around with shock, until she realized that there were others in the garden. Oh, you want to go say hello? she asked after a moment. She had met Khamsyn in the library once, although very briefly. Her fellow choleric, who seemed to like going topless, she hadn't met before, though she recalled seeing him at the sushi party. Cypress still didn't get why Raya was so interested in the group, but saying hello couldn't hurt anything, now could it?
As soon as Cypress had seen the group, Raya dashed off, spinning circles in the air and spinning her plumed tail in joyous circles. She approached much slower when she got closer to the fox-like hybrid that had its nose in a brown bag that, Raya realized, smelled rather good. Still, Raya looked at Istas a bit skeptically, a very cute puzzled look on her face as she hovered in mid-air, tail flicking back and forth with her unease. Cypress had finally caught up to Raya and she waved at Khamsyn. Hey! Remember me? she asked, realizing she herself didn't remember his name. Uh oh . . . she flushed slightly as Raya settled down onto her shoulder, staring at Istas with uncovered curiosity. Cypress looked over at the other Choleric, biting her lower lip with bemusement at his topless-ness, though he seemed utterly self conscious about it. I'm Cypress she said with a smile and a proffering of her hand. Seems we're all loosing a bit of cloth today she said, gesturing to her sleeve that was hanging on by a few strings. She offered a smile with her comment, hoping to soothe the embarrassment that seemed to be rising to both of their faces.

The long and the short of it was... Emrys was lonely. He really only had one friend... that he felt comfortable with, and it had been several days since he'd even seen Arron, the last time having been in class. He was slowly growing to like the other boy - as Arron was nice to him. And made him feel safe...
But right now, the Sanguine was no where to be found. And Emrys was tired of sitting in the Library listening to music by himself. So he'd gone wandering, just poking his nose in here and there. He had gone by the Teacher's Lounge ... hoping to talk to Nehna some more, but she hadn't been there at the time. And waiting made him nervous... made him feel like he was being stared at. Even if it wasn't really true.
Finally, he decided to poke around in the Flora gardens, or at least go and find somewhere quiet to sit. He should probably practice anyway... and with that thought, he headed back to his room first to get his flute and lyre - as both were fairly easy to transport and he didn't think he'd be bothering anyone by playing in the gardens.
When he got there, though, he almost instantly heard the sounds of others talking off in one direction. Hesitating, he wondered if he should join them, or find somewhere else to practice.
But... he was lonely... and hopefully they'd be nice. So he found his footsteps turning toward the group, until he shyly peeked out from behind a tree. He hadn't really met any of them outside of seeing them in class, but ... they didn't look scary, or mean. So he stepped out slowly and glanced about, keeping silent for the moment. Emrys... wasn't really much of one to put himself forward, no... not at all.

At first Nadyrr was attempting to not actually look at Khamsyn so he didn't realize the other boy was staring. Catching the end of Khamsyn's gaze he flushed slightly again and cleared his throat. Flickering his eyes over toward Istas he frowned at the hybrid a moment, wondering slightly if she had set this up somehow. Blinking he realized that Khamsyn had asked him something, pushing aside his embarrassment Nadyrr glanced over toward the lunch bag. Hummus he wasn't overly familiar with, "I wouldn't want to take your lunch," glancing down at his things Nadyrr took the patchwork backpack he often carried with him and rested it on the ground, "but I'll try some if you have enough. And I could share part of my lunch with you. Well, not really a lunch but snack maybe. Some apples and pears...Istas likes them as well."
Nadyrr had almost forgotten about the fact that he had no shirt on until Cypress appeared. Then he was very aware that he didn't have a shirt on, Istas at that moment decided to leave Khamsyn's lunch alone and trot over to sniff at the other hybrid attempting to nudge at Raya with her nose affectionately. He remembered her vaguely from the party as well but hadn't really spoken to her then. As she meantioned the clothing he glanced over toward the basket of trimmings, "I was working," he more blurted then said. Even to his ears it sounded like an excuse. With some more self conscious throat clearing he took his baggy patchwork shirt and started pulling it over his head.
As Emrys paused not far from the group, Istas tilted her head from sniffing at Raya to blink her red eyes and watch Emyrs. Perhaps he reminded her of her own shy master or some other reason but she started making her way over to him to give him a friendly greeting as well. Nadyrr spied Emyrs with his shirt half pulled on, "erm, hello." The greeting was rather awkward considering his state of dress but finally he pulled the shirt on and offered Emyrs a shy smile and a small wave.

It was probably a bad time for Eve to stumble upon the small group of classmates. She had been wandering as she often did, finding herself back in one of the first places she had ever traversed, where she had met her first friend. Imagine her surprise to find a handful of others situated beneath the very willow tree, one putting on his shirt and looking awfully red for his green skin! She'd never seen Hybrids before, and even if she were not affable, the strange creatures alone would have drawn her closer.
The Sanguine herself wore shorts that didn't reach her knees and a top that gave quite an eyeful of her torso; the different states of array for clothing did not phase her. She was not shy, not even for the lack of vocabulary when excited, having no qualms with approaching the group and stopping a short ways away next to another boy. Eve may have been friendly, but she did have a sense of politeness and manners.
She gave Emrys a wide smile, turning her candy tangerine gaze over the gathered curiously (and open fascination upon the strange plant-imals) before settling on the shy one once more. "Hello," she greeted him in her slow and strong voice. "Are you...looking for friends too?" It was meant to be perfectly innocent in question, as it was how she'd found her own friend after all.

Cypress chuckled at Nadyrr's response and nodded her head in response. Raya, however, seemed quite taken with Istas, though she froze at the other's approach. At the friendly sniff and nuzzle, Raya sneezed cutely, something she normally did when overly excited. Still, she chirped and whistled away, cooing sadly when Istas moved off to another Empyrean that was approaching the group.
At the arrival of the other two, Cypress started getting a bit fidgety. She'd never even the Sanguine, but the other looked somewhat familiar from class. She offered a friendly smile and a wave, but her shy side was fast emerging with so many people about. Feeling a bit presumptuous and like she was inviting herself, she got down on her knees, about to sit, before a look of trepidation crossed her face. Mind if I sit with you guys? I didn't bring a lunch, but I'd enjoy the company . . . she trailed off, sounding more like a question than anything else. As if rebelling against her wishes, her knees slid out from under her and she found herself, quite unexpectedly, seated. Oh! she muttered in surprise, a flush coming to her cheeks. After a few moments of uncomfortable silence, she turned to her fellow Choleric. You said you were working? What do you do here? she asked, finding the wait for Botany to be nearly intolerable.

Khamsyn smiled politely to each and every new person as they appeared. At first it was pretty cool, then as more started arriving he started to feel a little nervous and eventually the nervousness waned as everyone seemed to get along quite well. Turning his attention to Nadyrr first, he held out some pita bread and the container of hummus. "Please, have some, I have enough to share." He glanced around again and chuckled. "Maybe not with everyone, but enough for anyone who wants a taste at least." He would then pass it around for anyone who wanted to try some.
When Cypress asked if she could have a seat, he nodded is consent. "Please, sit, enjoy the gardens as I have been." He chuckled as she thumped into a seating position apparently before she intended to. For the third time he looked around at all the faces and smiled. "I'm Khamsyn by the way. I know I've met or at least seen some of you in class, but you'll have to excuse me if I don't know your name. I can be bad with names." From his seated position he bowed to each person in turn that had already volunteered their name as well as to those who did after he'd offered his own.

Emrys blinked at the group, slightly confused as to what was going on. What with putting on clothes (why were they off in the first place?) and food and Hybrids... which he hadn't seen much of before... it was a little overwhelming.
"Ah... hello," he replied to Nadyrr and Eve, stepping just a bit closer. And to the question that Eve asked, "I ... yea, I guess so." He needed more friends, really. And he knew it.
"Oh... I'm Emrys. I really just came here to uhm. Practice... but it's better to have an audience, right?" he murmured softly then, holding his instruments up for them to see.

Seeing more arrive Nadyrr moved the basket with the clippings off to the side so they would be out of the way. With a shy smile he spoke when Cypress mentioned the food, "it's not really lunch just some fruit. I keep some on hand when I come to work in the gardens because sometimes I don't know how long I'll be here. I don't mind sharing though, might not be able to fill everyone up but there should be enough apples and pears for everyone to have a little bit if they want it." Rolling his sleeves up Nadyrr found a spot in the shade to rest his bag and move over to take a seat. After the trimming he could use a rest, likely a shower too but it was a nice day out and he supposed it could wait.
Catching Cypress' question about what he was doing he motioned to the basket, "I was pruning some of the Acacia plants. I'm a gardener here, and well some of the trees are liable to become bushes if they are kept up. There are quite a few different kinds here." Setting a few pieces of fruit on the top of his pack he gestured back the way he had come in the gardens, "they get some pretty flowers but are rather thorny." Turning his arm he showed a spot where one of the thorns had ripped his shirt.
After Istas nuzzled and sniffed at Emrys for a moment she turned to do the same to Eve. The hybrid was friendly and rather eager to greet the new arrivals; once satisfied with their meeting she moved back over to rest near Cypress and gaze up at the other hybrid wagging her tail as she does. Nadyrr raised a hesitant hand toward Eve and Emyrs and offered another small wave, after hearing Khamsyn's question he spoke up a little uneasily, "and uhm, I haven't met most of you...I'm Nadyrr." His eyes shifted over toward Emrys instruments and he smiled slightly, he did enjoy music when he had a chance to hear it.

She watched them all keenly, her perpetual smile widening in the slightest. Why, they were all shy! Like her friend! Eve wouldn't know shy if it bit her in the bud, and was all too pleased to join the others, eyes flicking between each as they introduced themselves. The dark-skinned girl kneeled for a moment, holding her hand out to the friendly Hybrid with a delighted giggle before watching it skitter back off to who she presumed was its owner.
Scooting a little closer, she rested her weight comfortably on her hip, smiling brightly. "Eve," she introduced herself simply, fascinated by all the students and how different they looked but how they all shared the quality of shyness. It was quite endearing to the boisterous girl. Absently touching a lock of her bound creme hair, she looked up to Emrys and his flute. Music! That was something she understood, better than Botany. "Please?" she encouraged him sweetly, smiling and leaning back on her hands comfortably.

"Nadyrr... Istas... Cypress... Raya... Emrys... and Eve." Khamsyn parroted the names he heard back to their owners be they Empyrean or hybrid alike. He hdn't expected to draw such company when he chose to sit under the willow tree, but it was a pleasant surprise. After all, he'd ventured out from his dorm room with the intention of meeting others and being social. Now was his chance.
As Emyrs motioned with his instruments, Khamsyn smiled. He remembered music class recently and how the different instruments made him and the other feel. "Would you grace us with some lunch music Emrys?"
Khamsyn set the hummus and pita bread down within reach for any and all before leaning back against the tree to enjoy the music and the company. "I've seen most of you in class, so, what's your favorite one thus far?" He asked trying to make conversation as well as genuinely wanting to know the answer. "I've only had a few, but so far I've liked Science best."

Emrys reached over slowly to pick a small pear from the ones that Nadyrr offered, nodding in silent thanks. He bit into it, eyes lidding for a moment - then looked up again when Eve introduced herself. He smiled at the requests for music and then moved to settle on a little bit of raised ground, legs crossed before him.
"Ah ... well. I'm not very good... but if you want me to, I'll play for you," he murmured softly - raising the flute to his lips first and tuning it softly.
Then he looked around and asked, "Any requests?"

Yalitza found herself wandering through the hallways on this day, not really kin on doing anything. She was quiet, and just deep in thought as she wondering aimlessly. Shaking her head, she push her hand through her hair as she looks upwards. Too many thoughts in her mind, and none she wish to try and solve at this point. Sighing, she pauses just outside the flora garden looking at it for a moment. It would be a decent place to relax and just enjoy the rest of the day. No worries or having to answer to anyone at this point. With a small chuckle, she turns making her way through the garden. She knew the place just alittle, as it wasn't the first time she been there. She met another here, but even now that seem like so long ago to her. Her mind once thought again about how much time has passed by. Clearing her mind, she glances as she heard voices. A few seem familiar, yet she wasn't positive if she knew them. Turning, she moves slowly towards the others only to pauses as they came into view. Standing just a short distance from them all, she tilts her head as she watches for a moment. She did indeed know a few, which made her smile. Her eyes dance over the familiar faces, the smile broaden even more on one is particular. Yet she did irrupt the small group, instead she just listened and waited. When she could, she would announce her presents.
