None too far northeast of Terra Tanta where the river starts to open up lies an old mill, a few destitute buildings and now a cluster of tents. This is the temporary home for the forsaken people of war and the maimed survivors of the recent disaster. Refugees currently from Terra Tanta and other tragically invaded and destroyed regions in the west have taken up shelter here as their previous homes were taken from them.

Maryl had a brief conversation with a few people who had volunteered to oversee the camp. With a short exchange of words, she nodded and started to run off toward Kraftig Felter again.

Maryl returned with a few people following behind her. Reaching the camp she pointed them out to a few of the leaders. She managed to find a few neutral doctors from the town to tend to the injured who were brought from Terra Tanta. Supplies were slowly trickling in but things were getting set up to livable conditions.

Kel dropped over the side of a building. He didn't try to hide so much since most of the recovering refugees already knew he could fly, as he had been using this talent to assist them back in Terra Tanta. Kel took a short jog into the center of the shanty town and yelled out, "Maryl?! Maryl, where are you?!"

Maryl walked up next to Kel. "You rang?" her crystal ball was floating a short distance behind her, glowing faintly as it bobbed up and down in the air.

Kel patted Maryl on the head, "Just making sure you're still in once piece. Is there anything else you've picked up on?" He took a moment to sit back and look up at the sky. He sighed and shook his head. "I hope Seth has a backup plan. I couldn't prevent violence from breaking out between fire and air."

Maryl lowered her head. Deep down she too knew that successfully stopping the war was getting farther and farther away from being a possibility. She quickly looked up again. "Well do you think you could stall Water?" She turned and grasped her crystal ball, focusing on it for a moment. She looked into the sphere as it's center went cloudy for a second then cleared up again. She took a deep breath and released the crystal ball allowing it to float again. "They plan to invade earth. With Terra Tanta destroyed, they may come to the camp. We can't let that happen. Nobody here is in any condition to fight back."

Kel gave a distinct look of 'WTF?' to Maryl as he gazed at her. Yes, this place isn't exactly safe from invasion but stall water? "What do you want me to do? Stand up in front of them and say 'hey look at me!' and hope that distracts them for the next ten years?!" He stood up and sighed shaking his head in discontent. He patted Maryl on the shoulder comfortingly. "Put some of those spells of yours to use and try to fortify this camp. I'll see what I can do." Kel began to walk off, preparing to go find Seth.

Maryl's heart sank at the remark. She was trying, she wasn't really sure what to do at the moment. After being patted on the shoulder, she decided to listen to Kel, taking out her spellbook and starting to flip through it. She had a pretty good idea how to formulate a defense for the area. She stood up and followed after Kel for a second. "I can create a defense wall around the town, but I need a reagent: Fresh stone from a volcano. Can you get some for me?"

"Yeah, I'll get right on that." Kel waved once without looking back. He reached the edge of the camp then took off flying away from the camp. he flew southwest aiming for his daughter's position.

Maryl began to pace about in the center of the camp. She was getting a bit anxious and worried. Seth was gone, Kel was gone, combat had already started. It was a new feeling to have someone close to worry about for once. It was an unpleasant feeling. She could feel herself shaking a bit.

Kel walked into the camp almost dragging himself along. He was feeling pretty tired after all of that running around, lugging people, being battered by intense winds and weather. He made his way to the porch of a large house which had been made into the intensive care unit for the refuge. Sitting down, Kel pulled his hood down and shut his eyes, as he leaned back against the wall.

Maryl spotted Kel at the entrance to the hospital as she had been wandering about the makeshift town. She hurried up to the porch and called out to him. "Kel? How did it go? Did you get the stones?" She didn't want to seem incredibly impatient but the situation was fairly important. She looked around for a second, getting worried a bit more. "Where's Sarah?"

Kel opened one eye for a moment to see Maryl standing in front of him. He shut his eye and grumbled, "Who? Oh, you mean Seth... She's getting the stones now, she should be back shortly." He raised his hood and opened his eyes again, "Conflict between Earth and Water are inevitable now. Seems those block heads have sand in their ears. I could pour a glass of water on their heads and they'd think the water nation was attacking them."
"Get some sleep. We're past a few major checkpoints in Earth territory and considering that this old town doesn't appear on any maps they should overlook us entirely. Pending that those girls martyr themselves running into an entire Water battalion we should have a pretty big window of diversion." He covered his head again, mumbling incoherently.

Maryl was a bit taken back by Kel's apathy toward the elementalists. It was almost like she had been shoved and fallen backward. Recovering from the mental shock, Maryl pleaded, "But what about stopping the war? Both fronts are just going to butt heads and you don't want to stop it?"
