[So you want to be a master?]
You've spent months as an apprentice, building your skills and supplementing your knowledge. You think you have what it takes to achieve the position of master?
Being a master comes with responsibility, both for your own actions and those of your apprentices. You must teach them, nurture them, and pass on your knowledge of your element so they in turn can become more skilled. You will have to be part of the guild discussions and state your position on matters pertaining to special events or battles.
Your knowledge of your chosen element must be complete, and you have to be able to show it off in ways that are creative and literate. Two or three lines just doesn't cut it anymore; you have to be part of the elite.

[Promotion]
[Prerequisites]
- You must be in the guild for at least three months before applying to become a master.
The easiest way to do that is find the earliest post you can find in the guild. Take a screen cap or link us to it, please.
- You have to be an apprentice to the element you are applying for mastership of.
- If there are active masters in your element, it would be nice to get a recommendation from them, but it's not necessary.
If you happen to be the only person in that specific element, post in the subforum a bit and roleplay with your powers.
[Applying]
When you feel you are ready and have fulfilled all of the above requirements, you may create a temporary thread in the main forum or PM an active master requesting a master test. Remember to include proof that you have been a member for at least three months. If you choose to PM a master, they will refer you to another account.
Once you have done that, wait patiently for a PM from the guild master testing account, -Elements Realm-. They will be the examiner for your test. The test will be conducted over PMs.
After you apply to be a master you will be sent a PM prior to receiving the questionnaire. Respond to this PM, saying you are ready to take the test. This is to show that you will be active enough to complete the test within a week. If you reply to the initial pm and don't finish the exam within a week, but it is clear you are still active by posting or not having posted in the absentee thread, then your request to be a master will be nullified until a month has passed. It is only recommended that you apply to be a master during a time when you will be active.
[Taking the Test]
The test consists of a questionaire, as well as various masters assessing your abilities based on the rubric in the above post. Keep in mind that guild activity includes things outside of your master test. Answer the questions to the best of your ability.
[Results]
Once the examiner has reviewed your responses, you will recieve a reply. In the reply you will find out if you passed or failed. If you failed, there may be constructive comments on what to work on for next time. As well, you will not be able to take the test again for another three months.
If you passed, you will also be sent the Master Contract, which you will have to read and 'sign'. Once you have done so, a screen cap will be taken of it and kept on record in case you should shirk your master duties.

[Demotion]
In the unfortunate event that a master is not fulfilling their duties, a few things will happen.
First of all, at least two masters from different elements must give detailed descriptions of exactly what they feel the master is doing wrong, preferably to a Vice Captain or higher. Once that has been done, the offending master will be contacted and asked to re-take the master test. They will be graded with the same rubric and mentality as would someone applying to be a master.
If they pass the master test again, they will keep their rank. However, should they fail, they will be demoted to the rank of apprentice. They cannot re-apply to be a master until three months have passed.
