Wow, talk about your last-minute reviews, huh? redface Sorry about the massive wait on this one.

THE ENGAGEMENT RING

We begin our story in China Town, where everything's going well until two suspicious people *cough PURPLE DRAGONS cough* show up asking where Mr. Sun is. They quickly find him and a chase ensues. The streets clear just as we see Casey and Raph (who is "disguised") enter, talking about how Casey's looking for an engagement ring because -- gasp! -- he's actually gonna propose to April! And he's understandably nervous. Amid much fun-poking they get to Mr. Sun's jewelry shop, where they find the owner hiding behind his shelves. They tell Mr. Sun they're looking for a ring, and he quickly hands them a green-and-red number with an Odd Glow before shooing them out. The boys are puzzled, but mostly they're impressed by the pretty shiny. Just as our heroes leave, the two PDs from before show up again and advance on Mr. Sun!

Theme song!

Next scene has Casey and April in a paddle boat in the park, and Casey is wearing a tux. He tries the whole "reading from a script" thing ("I love you like Gretsky loves hockey"), but it doesn't work out and eventually (after they capsize) he gives up and just ad libs it. April is absolutely blown away, and she accepts! biggrin The ring comes out (and goes on the wrong hand for some reason) and it glows again...

Up in Hun's Tower of Solitude, the PDs are back with a substitute ring. Hun is very happy and puts it on, expecting it to have some kind of power... which since it's a substitute, it doesn't have. The happy changes to angry, and Hun explains to his thugs that rumors have arisen that the Foot is reforming. This is apparently Bad News for Hun, since if the Shredder came back... he demonstrates what would happen on his thugs. After beating them up, he issues the command to all of the PDs -- find the Ring of Yin(g).

Back in April's apartment, she's throwing dishes at Casey for putting them away without drying them. :O Apparently ever since she got the ring she's been really tense for some reason. Casey tries discussing the wedding again and April storms off, eyes all a-glow. Raph shows up outside the window and asks Casey what's up, but before the conversation can get too far April smashes down a wall, floating around with an evil aura around her. Whoa. She summons some monsters, which start attacking our heroes. Casey gets knocked out of a window, and Raph's creature starts flying him around the city, but they're both quickly defeated. April jumps down to the streets, and the boys follow her. They figure out it's gotta be the evil glowing ring that's making all this happen, and follow April down into the sewers. She summons another monster and flies out -- Raph says he'll fight it while Casey goes after April. He does and finds her flinging cars around telepathically. Reluctantly he throws a trash can at her head, which knocks her out of her possessed state (and also makes her summoned monster disappear). April has no idea what's going on, although it looks like she can see what she's doing while possessed, and Casey says that the ring's causing it. April tries taking it off, but it doesn't work -- it zaps her into unconsciousness instead. Just then a bunch of Purple Dragons show up on motorcycles, led by Hun! (Dun dun daaaaah.)

Hun says he needs the ring, and is about to take April with him when Raph pops out of the sewers. Hun gives the compulsory "oh crud" and there's this great scene where practically everybody has a WTF look on their face. (Apparently Hun had been spreading rumors that he defeated the turtles himself.) It doesn't last long though, and a fight scene breaks out. Our heroes are doing pretty well, but Hun quickly sounds the retreat, taking April and firing a laser gun, which blows up a car and knocks our heroes out.

When they wake up, Mr. Sun has found them and apologizes for giving them the ring. He also explains what the Ring of Yin(g) is -- a magical ring which can be used to control dark energies and stuff. But if you use it too much you get transformed into a demon. Also, the only one who can take off the ring is the one who put it on -- Casey. Cue facepalm. Mr. Sun's willing to help though. In the Tower, Hun knows about the legend. He threatens to cut April's hand off to get the ring, when she "goes demon" again and uses her tongue to throw him around. She breaks out of her chains and actually transforms herself this time, turning into the most wicked-looking thing ever, then smashes through the ceiling and flies off shrieking into the night.

Casey, meanwhile, is mortified. Raph whips out his Bluetooth and calls the gang, who arrive in a helicopter. They take off in pursuit! Demon!April doesn't want them to get close though, and attacks. The PDs join in the fun too, with their own helicopter. Casey dons his hockey mask and jumps down onto Demon!April, with Hun following after. Demon!April notices the helicopters and chargez her lazer, destroying the PD 'copter. Then she starts shooting at the Turtles. Casey tries to take the ring off, but Hun and his laser gun are having none of that. Raph throws a sai and knocks the gun out of Hun's hands, and Casey kicks him into the river. Raph lets loose a one-liner ("You're all clear, kid!"), but then Demon!April grabs the Turtles' chopper! Casey struggles with the ring for a while, but eventually gets it off Demon!April's hand. It shrinks down to normal, as does April, and they freefall for a while before being caught by the guys.

Everybody lands in Central Park, and hey! there's Mr. Sun. He apologizes for the mess, and gives C+A a replacement engagement ring. As he walks off, Don gets one last chance to angst over Splinter, April's ring goes on the right hand this time, and everybody congratulates the couple. Group hug!

To Be Continued...

Hey, an episode with no cyber-world stuff at all. It's actually a little refreshing, in the same way that I used to hope in vain for an episode of Danny Phantom that didn't include the phrase "I'm going ghost." And Hun's original voice actor is back, hooray! ^_^ I'm a little puzzled as to why he suddenly doesn't like the Shredder anymore... maybe it's been too long since I watched the pre-FF episodes. (Or maybe the disappearing treasure vault from Lost Season had something to do with it.) Also, April walking on the ceiling and talking about sacrificing oxen = pure awesome. XD
