Pink Myth

A week had passed it seemed to go by so quickly. Maso spent most of her time checking on Akiiki's wound's and making sure he didn't strain himself. She took great care in making sure he would one day be fit to be on his own again how ever much she didn't want it.

Today was her final day with him and then she would probably be told to leave. An once again be alone in the vast ocean of dieing grass little to no food and even lees of a chance of finding water then food.

She was staring down at her reflection of the small little water whole. She looked beside her to see Akiiki resting. She smiled a little before getting up and nudging him away to let him know she was going out for food.

Time pasted and it wasn't till midday when she came back with a small bore. It certainly was not enough for two but for one it would do just fine. Maso being the caring nurse she was at the moment nudge the bore over to Akiiki as she went to was off the blood the got onto her pelt.

Silver eyes cracked and seemed to shimmer in the sunlight. He was still groggy and disconcerted, still disconnected from his life in many ways. His mind was disjointed and in pain but Akiiki managed to sniff at the meat that was shoved into his vision.

For whatever reason his mind was telling him to eat all of it when his heart was screaming that he be respectful and share it with the beautiful female that was laying before him licking herself clean of the blood she'd gotten all over her. The silver over his eyes turned white for a moment from a sticky film that hurt worse than one would believe.

Akiiki blinked his eyes clear and used his ivory colored fangs to bite into the haunch of the boar laying just within his reach. Claws stained red from blood from years sank into it's body and drew it closer as he all but inhaled the meat there. It wasn't until his belly felt fuller than it had in years, until his ribs seemed to stretch out and his skin span over those ribs that he finally stopped and let out a loud belch.

Violet hung in front of his silver eyes, giving him an oddly immature look as the lare white and violet lion peered over at the snowy lioness that had been nursing him for a week, for what seemed like forever. Did he really want her to leave him like his heart told him to? Like his past spoke?

Did he think death was better than love?

The female finished cleaning herself before she looked to the male blushing just slightly seeing him watch her so intently. She then gave a slight smile moved over to him leaning into him.

"Are you just going to sit and stare at my beauty or are you going to eat?" She purred out a little before giggling. How she enjoyed his eyes on her. It thrilled her to no end but she'd never admit it unless there was reasons to do so.

She then pulled away softly as her mind surged with a splitting headache. She moved to her feat as she spared him a glace giving a weak smile.

"I'll be back." She replied as she moved out side of the cave slowly. Once outside she panicked as she began running away as fast as her legs would admit her.

"No please gods no!" She yelled out as her head began to pound before she stopped panting heavily her body raising and falling with each breath. She then moved over slowly leaning against a dead tree that she would not collapse to the ground.

"Please gods do not make me do something I will regret...I think." She wished to her self as she shut her eyes tightly. "I think I like him to much." She whispered as her nails where digging into the ground at this point before she screamed out and her world went dark.

It had been some time since her last episode and she did not want to be near him when it happened for fear she would do something to cause his other half to come out. No she could not have that he hated his other half like she here.

There was no answer he had for her, though his cheeks tinged a bit in a blush at her words. She'd noticed that he'd been watching her as a dehydrated lion watched the waves on the shore, knowing he couldn't drink but wishing so much that he could. Wishing so much that he could reach out and wrap her up in his weak limbs and keep her there forever, forbidding her to leave him.

Maybe it was the weakness in his body that was making him want to be with her this much, maybe it was just that she'd been nursing him and hadn't left him like so many others had left him, like so many would in the future when they found out about Okoth. Akiiki wanted to wrap Maso up in his arms and hold her forever so she couldn't ever escape, so that she wouldn't ever feel pain again, a pain that he knew so well.

Akiiki's silver eyes watched her walk out of the small cave, a blackness surging at the back of his skull as Okoth settled and re-settled willfully back where he thought Aki would feel him the best. Of course the white and violet male knew what was happening to the female, of course he could see it in the madness that had been boiling behind her gentle eyes and her soft smiles and giggling. There was the madness of a demon behind her that he could feel even if she was adept at hiding it from the eyes of others.

Slowly, so as not to strain himself and end up lapsing into another bout of exhaustion yet again, Akiiki stood up and followed her, his large paws leaving marks in the dust as he walked. The scars that ranged up and down his snowy coat seemed to walk across him as their makers had only a short time ago. His silver eyes scanned the savannah briefly before coming to rest on the back of the lioness that had been taking such good care of him.

Without a word he walked up to her in his same limping, stilted, gait and leaned his weight against her lightly, his violet mane pooling down across her shoulders thanks to her diminutive size and his own bulky size. He just had to be near her, knowing full well that having someone else nearby would at least make the attack of the demon on her body that less ravaging. She'd tried to run from him and he'd followed her like a stalwart mate searching for his love when she was having troubles. It just cemented in his mind how much he didn't want her to leave him, how much he wanted her to stay.

"Masozi'ambala" Akiiki breathed her name the way a lover might and a harp danced through it in the way his voice had always sounded musical before, his eyes turning to watch her with a fire behind them that they'd been lacking for years. The bard was back within the lion again as his voice took on the qualities it had been missing since cubhood.

Without missing a breath he lifted his eyes and looked up at the sky, his muzzle opening and spilling out a love song that he'd known his whole life but never been able to sing before, letting it waft out of his muzzle and across the sky up towards the sun in her name. It came as readily as anything he'd ever sang in his entire empty life, maybe more readily since he was finaly ready period. Flutes and violins sang in his voice, orchestrating the song for the one lioness he loved as if he had to prove it to her and everyone else so that no one ever forgot it as long as he was alive.

"Akiiki..." She whimpered out as she leaned into her eyes shutting tightly as tears slipped from them slowly. what was he doing here? Did her hear what she had said? How long did he follow her...why did he follow her? Her breath began t pick up once more.

"Noo...Akiiki you must go!" she whispered out in a slight scream her face burred into his violet mane. Though her body clung to him tightly not wanting him to leave her side ever. She was foolish to think that she could leave him during this time. He knew her well as well as going threw what she was on the boarder line of being done.

"Akiiki." She whimpered out once more before she closed her eyes moved to nuzzle him.

Silver eyes looked down at the lioness sharply, color suddenly pooling back over his body until Akiiki seemed to be made of nothing but snow and violet mist. No more was his fur the gray of a dying lion or his mane the dull and shaggy color that seemed to not be a color at all in it's own right. He was as bright as he'd been as a cub, long before he'd been taken as a hostage, long before he'd found out that he was cursed and couldn't ever be with others.

Okoth screamed deep within him, attempting to get out with his boiling rage, hoping that it would work. Yet Akiiki was more consered about Maso, so he completely ignored his other half, what Okoth believed was his better half, in order to take care of the pathetic female before him. She was fighting her beautiful demon and in that right he believed that she was useless. Useless as she could ever have been.

But Akiiki didn't think that Maso was useless. A soft smile spread over his muzzle and he pulled back from her silently and leaned down to kiss her. It was a kiss that he'd been hoping he'd always have and he used his front paws to drag her up against him in an odd looking hug as he did so, trying to calm her down with the heat from his battered body as much as he could.

When he pulled back he gazed into her eyes with silver eyes that had seen far too much in his years of life on the savannah.

"I love you Maso, you asked me how I felt a week ago and that's how I felt, but I was afraid to tell you. I want you to be safe Maso, I don't want to hurt you and I'm afraid that Okoth will.... but if you're willing to be patient with me I'd like you to stay..." Aki leaned his head down and kissed her throat with a rougish grin, "Because I don't think I want to let you go."

Maso eyes widened so far at this point feeling the lips of the other against she thought they would fall right out and she would be blind. Then the lips where joined by his paws pulling her closer. She let out a small little moan of pleasure as her eyes slide shut. He body calmed and eased as she dared her inner demon to come out now knowing she would not let this moment fade from her. An thus her demon was silenced...but only for the moment.

She then pushed away from the tree leaning into him making them both collapsed onto the ground with her on top. Tough she was mindful of his wounds and put most her wait on her limbs as she looked down to him with her sweet caring eyes.

"Akiiki...I" She grew silent a moment before blushed as she leaned down resting her forehead against. It wasn't long till she moved her head to start and nuzzle against him giving a soft purr.

"I don't think I have ever...been this happy." She whispered before moving to lick his cheek. "Akiiki I love you. I've loved you since that first day we meet."

His tail swished in the dust after she pushed him over on his back. It wasn't the most comfortable pose for his scars but they weremostly healed by now if not a tad stiff. It was okay for her to lay down on top of him after everything he'd just told her. After what she'd just told him. In fact it made him smile that he was even letting her do it.

It meant that he was trusting her. And that was a good thing.

Aki remembered Dumu tryiing to tell him that he needed to be trusting once upon a time. That he needed to trust the people around him. Well he trusted Maso, she'd proven that he could trust her where many others had failed. Even his own parents had failed, though he'd felt the distinct absence of his father recently.

That meant something bad.

Wrapping his love up in his large legs, Akiiki purred out his love with the sound of a harp in his lungs and vibrating deep in his cavernous chest. She was his and he had no words to express his love other than the song that came from deep in his heart that he tried to make her hear. The bard that had paled under the black bleakness that had bean Okoth was scorching it's way back out slowly.

Maybe there was hope yet.

She smiled tears coming to her eyes as she leaned into him closer. She was silent not daring to disturb her song. Yes the song he was giving to her to forever bond them into one being. She slipped off him moving to rest closely beside. She purred out happily as she began to groom Akiiki her eyes shut as she began to show him just how much she wanted him near as she kept within constant contact with him. Their white pelt mixing into one effortlessly from their scars messing together perfectly.

The rumbling deep in his chest kept on for a long time, the song never really ending as it encompassed his life, his love and everything he'd ever known. From his brother to his parents and all the lions and cheetahs and everything else he'd met along the way. The saddest parts of it were meant for those he may have harmed when Okoth took control, the ones he couldn't remember. The happiest part was for Maso, for the life that he wanted with her.

Laying out under her in a relaxed pose, Akiiki laid his head back, the song slowly dimming a bit in his chest as his eyes drooped from the sun and the exhaustion. He'd proven his love, he'd gone above and beyond what he had to in order to show her.Now it was time for rest.

With their bellies together so that their white fur made it impossible to tell where Maso ended and Aki started, the large demi-god finally fell into a deep sleep that he'd needed since he was a cub.

The song faded away on a gentle note as his breathing evened out and the lion slept as he always should have. Protected.
