I'm just curious in general. I've played with one only once before at a birthday party when I was in seventh grade. I'm 19 now, so it's been a while. Is there any real way to use one? Where can you get one? I've seen The Milton Brothers version in the toy isle at many stores, and I doubt that they offer any real results. What have you learned/accomplished with a ouija board? Have you had positive or negative experiences with one?

A board is just a means of communication. Whether it comes from a brand new MB box, or if it's someone else's hand-me-down, it's still just a means.
Granted, it's my most effective route of chatting with my spirit guides, and I find that it works well, once you get used to it.
I've had almost all pleasant experiences, most of them with our very own DreamerSpirit.
The couple of unpleasant ones were with a different friend. At one point, she was unable to get the presence to leave her room, so it took a good deal more effort than usual to get it to leave. ...and then we started with the protections, to make sure it wasn't coming back any time soon.
There is no one way to use them. I can only offer the advice of never using it alone, use your best judgement when it comes to talking to the spirits you call up, and ( my own troubleshooting way; works for me, anyways ) try to keep a piece of silver nearby, preferably on the board. All that stuff about silver keeping back evil? It works.
I've definitely learned...quite a lot. A lot of it is rather personal; finding out I knew several of my friends in quite a few past lives, discovering that maybe there was a reason why our group had such dynamics, and, of course, an introduction to my first spirit guide.
On the whole, I think it's different for every person - some believe, and some don't, and the board usually reacts to that level of 'faith', so to speak.
Just be open-minded, when you try it. You just might learn some interesting things...

As I've said already, I've only ever used one once, but it was enough to mess up my life for years afterwards.
When I was about 13 or so, me and my two friends decided to use my Milton Bradley ouija board on Thanksgiving, since my mom was at work. Well, the placard never moved, but the longer we did it, the more I got the sense of a prescence. My friends teased me, but I swear, I was almost to the point of seeing him by the time we stopped. Basically, he was an older man, and he was very interested in the fact that me and one friend were only about thirteen, and that my other friend was two years ytounger than us. As it went on, I sensed that he was a child molester, and that he had molested so many kids he'd lost count. He was leering at us, almost like he wanted to rape us too, even though he was dead. I sensed nothing but evil intentions from him. That was when I made my friends stop. They teased me, but I was scared to death.
He stayed in my closet for a few months, before the other evil things overpowered him and pushed him out (long story, my house was built on top of some sort of evil vortex thingie).
Well, last summer, I finally got my oujia board back out of storage, even against many of my friends' warnings. I was 20, I knew what I was doing. Well, the evil started infecting the entire apartment. That night, I heard whispers, I felt evil, I wanted to do nothing but and hide under my sheets like I was six all over again. It was the same overpowering fear that you used to get from the boogeyman, only it was real.
I ended up getting my roommate to exorcise the board for me. He then threw up as many wards as he could, and blocked off the portal that had opened because I had used the damn thing, and we threw it away immediately afterwards.
Hence why I think ouija boards and nothing but trouble. You don't know what you're inviting, and you don't know if it's telling the truth. That nice spirit who tells you about your past lives might in reality be a demon that wants to eat your soul with fava beans and a nice Chianti. I never even touch the things now.

Unless you're pretty good at channeling and have a good knowledge of lightwork(spiritual protection) then I'd strongly advise against using one. Ouija boards have a tendancy to attract lower entities if those using it are not well-versed in channeling and lightwork. Though, if at least one of the people your with is properly versed in such matters then it can be safe and oftentimes quite amusing. I've met quite a few interesting souls through my ouija board.
One rather interesting story happened at yami_no_aijins house about a year ago. Me, her, xX_Moony_Xx, and our other friend, Laura, were in the upper floor of Yami's house, which was, at the time, unoccupied (her house is 3 floors, with an apartment on each floor). We had tehe ouija board there and were just contacting whomever we could, so long as they were not an excessivly evil entity. Well, anyways, me and Yami both started to see a strange haze in one corner of the room. We contacted a soul which was the source of the haze, who happened to be a guy named Craig. Craig sounded rather non-sensical, which quite often happens when it comes to using the Ouija board as many entities have trouble communing through such. We did manage to get his cause of death which was O.D. (drug overdose). That said the group of us began to be overpowered by a sweet and intoxicating scent. As my brother is a pothead I recognized the scent as that of marijuana. We exited the room, and got Craig to leave. Yami got slightly high off the scent though. We'll still sense Craig every now and then.
Other than Craig I've met quite a few other interesting souls through the ouija board, though I'm not going to elaborate at this time.
I still advise you not to use one unless you are well versed in channeling and lightwork though, as they will oftentimes open a gateway between the physical and spiritual realms, often allowing undesiriable entities to cross into your home.

I will quote my friends brother here, "Using a ouji board without knowing what you are doing is like giving a three yearold a flame thrower, it just isn't smart."

I guess all I really can do is repeat what others have said before me. The Puiji board is a very. very ppowerful tool for channeling. It can attract all types of spirits and enties, and the trick is to learn how to get rid of the ones you dont want.
Its a skill i recommend people not to have to learn the hard way though. If you have an understanding of control, and your not using it as just some parlor trick to amuse your friends, the outcome should be a pleasant, and spiritually educating one. Ive learned so much from it I dont even know where to start.
And yes, we still have the "privalage" of seing Craig every once in a while, but manage to shoo him off when he starts acting too stupid, or the room starts smelling too much like pot.

o.O I'm extremely curious as to exactly how the shooing of the pothead spirit is done.
That said, is there any realy explanation as to why the Ouija board is a nice entrance for evil? Do pleasant spirits prefer some other method? So I really can use a Milton Bradley, and it will work just fine? (Not that I'm going to, given what you nice folk have said. I'm not nearly trained enough to handle it. I'm just suprised that they work!)

Occasionally I'll use my Ouija board (which is actually a Milton Bradley one I found in my friends attic) without using any inital lightwork to keep lower entities from the board, it's not always bad spirits that will come to the board. I've manages to attract many different types of spirits, from very kind and loving souls, to rapists and *****. It's just that Ouija boards really require little training to know how to use, and are accessable to pretty much any spirits while you use them, unless you learn spiritual protection and basic channeling. If you're trained in such you can learn to ward off negative entities.

Time to sound like a broken record. 4laugh
Ouija boards are somewhat dangerous things. You can't just contact a spirit and ask "Oh, are you good or are you evil?" in any sense of the word. They always will say that they are evil, and then they will do the baaaaaad things to you.
I use the Ouija boards every once in a while with some other friends of mine. One of them is actually a rather powerful witch, and she has this fellow nicknamed "Uncle Fester" that will always show up whenever we go onto the boards. He tries to be rather intimidating, and sometimes he is, but for the most part he just is usually there and sitting near us somewhere while we contact and talk with the other spirits.
One thing, I HIGHLY recommend, is that you are to never take your fingers off the planchette (that little three legged pointer), and when you are done, run it over the words 'Goodbye' before taking your fingers off it.

I've never bothered to test it. I heard from some people that demons use it to converse. I mean I have enough 'demons' alive with me today. Why ask for more? gonk

I want to use them. But between what's already in my house and my mom's story, it's a scary thought. A few of her friends and her used a board once, supposedly something was tossed across the room and one of her friends went in to convulsions. I don't know if it was true, but when I asked her friends, they pushed the subject away, so I wonder.

I got one and called my friend all exited to do it together but he said, "not need for that..." and I said WHY? and hes like "scared" So yeah its kind of annoying here in Utah, half the people look and act exactly the same (blonde hair blue eyes, mormons, scared of everything they dont know about.) So yeah I wish I had some friends with similar interests.

well, me and my friend have played a couple times, i played my first time a couple of months ago and it was freaky at first but i got used to it and it's fun. I'm 16 and me and my friend started a band this past summer and we were just bored one day and her mom got the idea to go take some pictures at a graveyard down by her house, so we went and we brought our guitars and stuff and took some pictures..well the ride there was cool, it was very sunny outside and there was no wind whatsoever...well we decided to take the ouija board with us just for fun and when we got there it all of a sudden turned very cloudy outside and the wind picked up very heavily..it was freaky. well...we saw one grave that had an awesome tombstone that said "knockin on heavens door" with some music notes and stuff on it and the name on it was chad...well that next weekend i went to her house and we decided to play b/c her cousin and her sisters friend was there and we were bored and the others wouldnt play the ouija right so we decided to play alone...well we asked it if there was anyone with us and it spelled out chad..it was very freaky..and so much other stuff happened that was so cool...lol...we've only had maybe one bad time with it but thats probably because everyone kept interupting us and everytime someone would come in the room the room would get very hot but when they would leave it would get very cold again, lol, so yeah...at times its freaky and at other times is pretty awesome!
