Appearance: Iris is a girl of change. She hates being in the same mood for so long, or being the same way for longer than a week. That’s why, when found, she tends to be a very random person. She can’t stand having the same hairstyle or same color hair, and thus changes it often. Despite her need to change up her looks her hair is always long enough to pull into a ponytail. She hates short hair, and at its shortest length it’ll be at her shoulders. She enjoys dying it as well, and really prefers black over her natural white blond color. That doesn’t mean, however, that she won’t change it to a brunette, red, or some other wild color. That just means, that for the time being, she prefers black.
Iris isn’t overweight and definitely wouldn’t be classified as underweight. She has a meaty portion of skin that she enjoys, she works out but only to stay fit, she’s not interested in losing weight. She doesn’t believe she needs to. Her body isn’t toned to show that she works out a lot or has in the past, though there are some definite muscles there. So much so, that it’s rather easy to tell that she packs a powerful punch if she were ever to throw one.
Iris as stated previously likes change, and that’s quite obvious with her wardrobe. Though she enjoys being a girl and showing off her assets, she’s bound to get into a tussle and a bit dirty. She wears everything from dresses to skirts, to pants and a shirt, to ties and suits.
Personality: Let’s start out by describing Iris as confident. She knows what she wants and she’ll work hard to get it. In the same aspect she’s not afraid to admit when she likes someone, or when they’re being a total a**. She doesn’t really pause to realize that some of what she says may get her into trouble with some of her the people around her. She already realizes she doesn’t have a lot of money, but money doesn’t give you everything you need in life. It’s also quite easy to tell when she’s having a good day or a bad, as her moods are quite easy to tell apart.
Iris is a girl who loves to have fun. She loves to try new things, loves to participate in different activities. She mostly loves to dance and sing, and has taken many different forms of dance from ballet to hip hop. In the aspect of trying new things, and always liking to spice things up a bit she can come off as very random, weird, and even at some points crazy. It all depends on what terms these words mean to you.
And, last but not least, in describing Iris Violet Monroe, she is very loud. This is the aspect of her life that people find most irritating. She doesn’t care what people think or say, but she’ll often times go yelling (or rather singing) down the halls the lyrics to a song that randomly pops into her head from a head motion or comment made by someone she passes.
All in all, Iris is a very unique person given the home-life situation. She takes life as it’s given to her, and works to achieve what it is she wants.
Background: Iris Violet Monroe was a premature baby born into a pre-mature child. The child, Lily, was only fifteen and was in no condition to raise a child, but Lily had strong beliefs against abortion, so instead gave birth to the child.
Before further explaining what happened to the premature child we must describe the condition in which Miss Lily Monroe was in. She was a child that belong to abusive parents who both drank, smoked, and did a combination of drugs including pot, weed, and marijuana. When Lily was eight her parents were put in prison for their marijuana addiction, and Lily was put into child services. Prior to that the child had been beaten numerous times where it got to the point that a helpful teacher notified the authorities and actions were later taken. Lily Monroe was then set into a large foster family. They thought the transition would be good for her, but it took awhile for the young Lily to be able to get along with these strange new people. By the time Lily was twelve she'd already dabbled in a few drugs, including those that her parents had smoked. Also, she was already addicted to alcohol by the first time she tried it, which was well into her thirteenth birthday with friends. By fourteen she'd run off, and was on her own. So, when she gave birth to her premature child Iris Violet Monroe she was in no condition to care for her. Lily, the homeless alcoholic pot smoker had a decision to make; care for her daughter the best she could or give her away to someone who might not be able to care for. Lily chose the first of those two choices.
Lily managed to get into a gang which then cared for her and her to-be child. She gave birth to her child, as early stated, prematurely, but could now afford to care for the child. Due to help from Lily's gang, she was able to maintain a proper living style for Iris for a time being. But one situation turns into another before one even realizes it, and Lily got into some bad trouble before Iris turned four.
Lily got scared of her gang members after a brutal beating and ran off with her child, moving to [insert town name here] with some of the money she'd collected within the past four years. Getting a job at a strip club as a pole dancer she then gained enough money to buy a trailer and further care for her young child. But since this isn't a story about Lily and in fact the story of Iris Violet Monroe, let's move on.
Iris grew up in California since she was five, and pretty much before she could remember anything else. She grew up on the low part of society, where all the bad-s**t happened. She learned to take life as it was given to her, and worked hard to achieve her goals. By the age of fourteen she had a job and was already saving up for college. By fifteen she was able to get her license, but couldn't afford the money to get a car, thus, she took her bike everywhere or else walked. By nineteen she had enough money to get out of her mother's home, but decided to save the money to go to college instead. Her grades were a bit above average, not 4.0, but definitely in the 3.5 range.
