(I know this will be moved to the Gear section eventually but I wanted to post it in the main section so more people will see it. Crew members, leave it here for like 2 days before moving it please. Thanks)
I have a Squier Strat with 3 single coil pickups. The bridge coil started to tilt like into the guitar so now it's a little diagonal. I looked at it and thought no big deal. I can get it fixed. Then the neck coil started to tilt like the other one. I'm taking it to get repaired by my friend who's a professional at this stuff so I'll know what's wrong and that's not what I'm worried about. I'll know on Saturday five minutes before someone tries to solve the problem. I assume this can be fixed pretty easily but I was worried about the price. How much do you think pickups for a cheap strat would cost? Nice single coils are costing like at least $50 online but I'm guessing that when I get a guitar, amp, strap, and case all for $200 in a little package thing the parts for this guitar won't cost me much. I just wanted to get a good idea so I don't accidentally assume it'll cost like 5 bucks and then have to pay like 30.

PunkRockFaces Well, rather then replacing them with the standard parts, since you're tearing them apart anyways, why not put in BETTER pickups. (Squire pickups suck...) I'd love to get better ones but I can't afford good pickups. Getting the standard ones with the repair fee will probably cost all the money I have.

How about you save up money and try and get a guitar besides fender lol. Naw no offense but i heard fender is crap unless its like a american standred (the 1,000 dollar guitars) or the telecasters. I feel sorry for you though with the single coils..and i hope its not the fender squire you got from the fender package with the amp and stuff cause i heard that one really sucks...

That was the douchiest thing anyone has ever said to me about my guitar (and that's REALLY saying something, buddy). It makes the right sounds and people respect me when I play it so I don't need to replace the entire guitar. When I start crapping gold and diamonds like you guys seem to do I'll consider upgrading but until then I'll stick with the little strat that gets the job done. Now can I get an estimate like I asked for?

But seriously i have actually gotten the chance to play a fender squire...i hate them. Have you ever played with humbuckers? you hear the difference lol.

Well just because you like humbuckers it doesn't mean you can insult my guitar and make me feel poor.

I like Epiphone, because they are cheaper but have the same sounds as their corporate cousins Gibson

Not sure why we're talking about replacing the pickups. How are they tilting exactly?
If you can, try adjusting the little screws on the side of each pickup (there are six of these) they adjust the height of the pickups.
To see for yourself what's wrong, get the strings off the guitar and take off the pickguard by removing all the perimeter screws. Everything on a strat is mounted to the underside of the pickguard so you can't damage anything if you're careful.
If you've got it fixed let me know; I'd like to hear what was wrong...

I just needed to adjust them by twisting the screws. I wish I knew about it earlier so I wouldn't have worried.
