It's been talked about on our news in Georgia, the pact a penny is worse than worthless x3
The copper which the pennies are made of is worth 1.3 times the monetary value of the penny its self. And copper mining can be catastrophic for the environment - - Since environmental issues can include erosion, sinkholes forming, loss of biodiversity, and contamination of groundwaters and surface water by chemicals from the mining process and products. Not to mention all the explosives they have to use =/
Which is why the calling to put the penny down is wore than ever.
* Do you think the government will phase out the penny in the near future to conserve metal resources?

I don't know why they don't. Australia gets fine without their penny. Canada needs to follow suit too.

There's been talk for years about getting rid of the penny. So far it hasn't happened. I'm not sure it ever will happen. neutral
