Saturn, the ruler of the status quo, is approaching an opposition to Uranus, ruler of change and liberation. Ironically enough, the exact opposition happens to occur on the US Election Day. The energy began more than a year ago and will continue through 2010. Each of us is struggling with a pull between the need for reform, making the break for freedom, versus our desire to maintain worldly security. The ideal solution is one that generates creative alteration without annihilating a stable ground on which to stand. If you are feeling this energy, be aware it is not simply a phase or a mood. It is a message to be taken seriously and handled consciously. Search for ways to make changes intentionally or they will sneak in the back door and take you by surprise. Aries (Mar. 20--Apr. 19):
Outdated systems of organization may need to be replaced. You may not want to spend the time for the required learning curve upfront. However, this could be holding you back from saving time and energy by using the most contemporary tools and resources available.
Taurus (Apr. 20--May 19):
Your seriousness about romance, creativity, and play could be interfering with your ability to enjoy the spontaneous and frivolous relationship. Perhaps you fear it will veer you off your purposeful plan. The Bulls sometimes become rigid in attitude, which causes you to miss some of the joy in life.
Gemini (May 20 -- June 20)
You are performing a balancing act. The Saturn side of you wants to maintain home, hearth, and the family status quo. Meanwhile the opposing force is inviting you to the more exciting world in which rules are not so important. Your psyche is inviting you toward sudden breakthroughs and liberating events.
Cancer (June 21--July 21):
Your outlook may have become more realistic or even negative in the past year. Perhaps you are fighting the new revelations that are developing concerning your belief systems and your philosophy or religion. Give yourself permission to suspend what is traditional with you, to allow exploration beyond the norm.
Leo (July 22 --Aug. 21)
You have had a particular way of managing finances much of your life. It is a system that has kept you in tow, not too red, not too black. Off the wall circumstances have developed that make it challenging to remain consistently upright. Maybe a drastic change in investments or debt load that is rocking the boat.
Virgo (Aug. 22--Sep. 22):
You have been concentrating on rebuilding your life structure during the past year. Periodically the message comes through that you need to learn to adapt to the unexpected changes for which you cannot plan. You might have recently attracted a "trickster" into your life, who insures that you cannot become too rigid.
Libra (Sep. 23--Oct. 22):
Until the recent year you have been very successful in your particular field of endeavor. It is a secret, maybe even from yourself, that there are elements of the work that have become tiresome. You fear that adopting new patterns will not be accepted. Yet they offer refreshment that will enliven your work.
Scorpio (Oct. 23--Nov. 21):
There is a lover, a child, or a new arena of creativity that is captivating. Fascination with this territory is preventing you from developing friendships or group associations for a time. When the sparkle wears off, you will need to reconnect to the greater world around you. A glittering goldpiece serves only for a limited time.
Sagittarius (Nov. 22--Dec. 20):
In the fall of '07 you either took on much more responsibility in your career, or you let go of a worn out occupation and set yourself free. The issue continues. If you became liberated, you are now struggling to ground yourself. If you took on additional commitments, a part of you is screaming for relief.
Capricorn ( Dec 21 -- Jan 19):
The "authorities" seem to have thrown automatic roadblocks in your way during this past year. If it is not them, it may be you who fears accepting important changes in your maturity. Search yourself for the possibility of rigid attitudes, particularly about yourself, that require a lot of effort to maintain.
Aquarius (Jan. 20--Feb. 17):
One side of you is intent upon paying off debt and balancing the checkbook. The other side of you keeps finding surprises that interfere with your plan. The "surprises" may be work that is now paid on commission, so you cannot be sure how much you will have to manage. Or maybe it is overly challenging to control your spending.
Pisces (Feb. 18--Mar. 19):
Uranus brought restlessness to your sign in 2003 and it will remain with you through the first quarter of 2011. You have been changing dramatically since that time. Your intuition is growing more strong than ever. But in the last year you've come to realize that you cannot have total freedom of individuality if you want to hold onto relationships in your life.
