Hiring Colorists It's been a good run over the past year with various colorists floating in and out, but the time has come when I can no longer hold down my own in this shop with just myself a few others. So, I recently hired on a thread manager, and am now looking to add more new staffers to the mix - colorists, this time! With more staff, I hope to breath life back into the shop!
I will be accepting applications indefinitely, as guest colorists are always welcome. x3 Basic Info + I would prefer if you have Photoshop or a program that supports layers. + Some sense of color coordination, and I prefer minimum to no use of pre-made patterend brushes. + Lineart editing is not a requirement. + You must have a reliable contact method outside of Gaia. AIM and/or email is preferred. + You should be willing to work under a sporadically-busy-with-RL and often-disappearing shophead. >_> Shop Requirements + 1 flatsale set (4 pets, your choice of adult-only or full-growing) OR 1 breeding set (up to 3 full-growing) every 2 months or so. + 1 or 2 pets every couple of months for use in raffles, games, contest, etc. + Participation in all events held by the shop (at least 2 contributions). + Ability to get work done in a timely manner. I do understand that RL is more important than Gaia, but please do not take on more projects than you can handle based on your own knowledge of how you RL schedule works around Gaia-time. + Ability to cert on your own. But if you really don't want to or can't, I can do them for you, as I have been doing all certs for the past year. But with as busy as I am now, I think it's better for the colorists to cert their own qilin. + Good communication, organization, and planning skills. In helping with events (or even in-thread things like flatsales and games), I expect all colorists to contribute to how things should be put together and run. More importantly, it lets me know what you are comfortable and wanting to do. Perks + You keep 100% of whatever profit you make, including customs and bribes. + 2-3 custom slots every-other month as long as your work is done, and open bribes at your discretion. + 1 free qilin to color for yourself or a friend; anything after that I'd probably be okay with too, but just ask. xD + Pet trade freedom. Run it by me first and have at it. If you'd like to play around with the lines, they can be found at this photobucket album. The flat JPEG's and the transparent PNG's of the foal stages for the qilin are there. Or, if you'd like the PSD's, ping me a PM or IM me at EverlastingRemix and I'll see about transferring a couple to you. :3 And finally, a form. Feel free to PM this directly to me, or post below! Gaia Username: Applying for what position? full-time or part-time, or guest? Prior experience: Current shops of employment, if any: Coloring examples: (links, not images, please) Can you do lineart edits?: If yes to above, please provide examples: (links, not images, please) Please feel free to ask me any questions via PM or on AIM (my sn is EverlastingRemix); the former may be faster considering I'm not on AIM as much as I used to be.

Hiring an RP Manager I have wanted to create some sort of fun RP background for the shop for awhile, but at the moment I lack the ideas, time required for organization, and any real gung-ho RPer enthusiasm to really take a system and try to make it fly. So, I would like to hire an RP Manager! This is not just a "regulate guild RP's to make sure everyone's getting along" position. I want you to help create a living world for the qilin, including a quest system for future elderships and for misfortunes as well. Requirements - First and foremost, as an RP manager, you will be expected to know how to properly RP. This means knowing the basic and essential rules. If you want to know what I'm talking about, pay a visit to The Daisy Code thread. Otherwise, here are the requirements: + You must be motivated, organized, and responsible. + You must be willing to manage RPs within the guild and any other RP-related system to be put in place, including quests and a point system. + You should be willing to participate in RP yourself, as well as help create and manage shop-sponsored RP events. + You must have a reliable method of contact outside of Gaia (email or AIM is preferred). Other Information - Listed below are the things that I would like to see completed when an RP Manager is hired on. + You will help flesh out the background story/history of the shop. + You will also help add to the story of the qilin, as well as how the misfortunes came to be, and how elders are created. + An ongoing project between myself and the RP manager will be expanding on the RP areas, such as information on geography and the local human populations. Thusly: + It will be highly in your favor if you have a good amount of accurate knowledge (mostly cultural) about ancient China. This is not a requirement, but in lieu of this I'd love if you would be willing to do some background research, even if it's just running to Wikipedia and reading from there. + You'll either have an RP account or mule account access, possibly both. + You can earn 10K-20K a month depending on the work you do, or a free custom perhaps to go along with the RP NPC (this is negotiable). If you're interested in applying, please fill out the following form and either post it in this thread or PM it to my main account. If you have any questions, please contact me via PM or on AIM (sn is EverlastingRemix). Gaia Username: Applying for what position? RP Manager Prior experience: (other shops you've worked for in these positions) Current shops of employment, if any: How familiar are you with FoC?: How much time do you think you can dedicate to the shop?: How can I contact you?: (AIM, email, etc) Please submit a roleplay sample answering the following prompt: "A creature unlike any you have ever seen stands before you. Words fail you at first, but slowly, your mind is able to grasp what your eyes observe, and you see that it..."
(Finish the description (it can be any creature you want; real, traditional fantasy, or something you made up). You may turn it into a third-person POV and use a human character if you like. Expand on emotions and you/your characters initial reaction and feelings toward this unknown creature, and include anything else you think may be important. Please make this no longer than 500 words.)

Yes, I think there is a few people, myself included, that would love to know at least an estimate for the RP manager stuff. I'm quiet eager to see what the requirements are.

Gaia Username: raynypearl Applying for what position? RP Manager Prior experience: No experience in shops, I've started and maintained a few RP's of my own. Everyone has to start somewhere. Current shops of employment, if any: None How familiar are you with FoC?: I try to keep up on the story and whats happening often, don't post a lot in shop however How much time do you think you can dedicate to the shop?: Probably at least an hour every day. Some days might be to full to do that but normally I have at least one hour every day. How can I contact you?: email (I'll Pm you a copy of this so I don't give out an email adress to everyone.) Please submit a roleplay sample answering the following prompt: "A creature unlike any you have ever seen stands before you. Words fail you at first, but slowly, your mind is able to grasp what your eyes observe, and you see that it..."
The graceful creature standing before me means no harm, fear still wraps itself around my heart like a dark blanket. The moist forest ground below my feet suddenly feels unsteady, it would have an advantage anyway this being its home and I being a traveler. My eyes scan carefully around it, my mind racing questioning its every breath. 'Is it protecting something? Am I now the hunted? Where am I? Can it climb? No but it can fly.' These very thoughts ran through my head. Even if I had thought of running I wouldn't have been able. My feet stuck in place like I was stone. Taking in a shallow quick breath I watch it analize me. Praying that its not hungry I step back and it steps forward like a dance. Its scales shined like the sun breaking through the cape of darkness. The spots of sun coming through the dense canopy over head. The noises of the forest sounds seem to have gone silent. A hiss comes from the mouth of the graceful creature. My mind searches from past events. What was its name I couldn't recall. Its claws sunk into the ground. Its eyes burned through me and its wings moved cautiously. Then as quickly as it appeared it turned around and slipped into the darkness. I sighed with relief the dragon was gone and I was safe, for now.

Gaia Username: Larisha Dragonchaser Applying for what position? RP Manager Prior experience: PwniePets (Pony Island) Current shops of employment, if any: pwniePets (on Pony Island) How familiar are you with FoC?: I own a Qilin, Hyoukyou, and keep up as best I can with the RP. I usually don't get involved a lot in the shop unless there's Qilin or RP to be had. How much time do you think you can dedicate to the shop?: Varies greatly - I usually have 4-5 hours everyday, if not more, but on a few Saturdays a year I'll not be able to be around at all. How can I contact you?: e-mail: Hoshizoraaoitsuki@hotmail.com Please submit a roleplay sample answering the following prompt: "A creature unlike any you have ever seen stands before you. Words fail you at first, but slowly, your mind is able to grasp what your eyes observe, and you see that it..."
Run! Scream!
Those were my first reactions upon seeing the monstrosity that stood before me, but I had already made the fatal mistake - looking it in the eyes. Now I stood paralyzed, frozen like a leaf in a cold winter wind. His golden orbs held me, even as the creature licked his lips, preparing for the next feast.
But...god, it was beautiful. Even though it was surely going to eat me, even though it was clearly something of unnatural origin...I couldn't help but notice how gorgeous it was. I'd always been a fan of blacks and whites, and the creature fit that perfectly with his snow-white scales and ebony hair. At least, half of its body was scaled - the torso of the thing was actually that of a human's, somewhat like a centaur except merged with a snake instead of a horse. Had he been cursed? Had he been born like that? All sorts of questions ran through my mind, but I'd never be able to ask them.
At least I was going to die beholding something of beauty, right?
I watched in both awe and terror as he slithered closer. The snake-man peered at me quizzically, as though wondering why I was so afraid. Then he gave a soft hiss and pushed his head under my hand expectantly. ‘Pet me!’ his actions seemed to say. Naturally, I complied – who wouldn’t? After all, this creature could end my life in a swipe of his long scaled tail. I’d best keep him happy. Run my hands through his long hair, I noticed that it was more silky than it looked – was he being taken care of by someone? He was a healthy thing, I knew that much.
As if on cue, a voice from behind startled me: “Hebi!” The snake-man immediately gave an irritated hiss and tightened the coils around me in a..protective gesture? Because I was entombed, I was unable to look behind me to see just who it was, but the voice seemed human enough. “Let her go.” The voice now was just as irritated as the half-human.
I nearly jumped out of my skin as the monster spoke, his voice surprisingly thin and weak: “I was just having fun. Of course, you wouldn’t understand that…” He gave a slight flip of his hand in a dismissing gesture, but just from the snarl on his face I was able to figure out the other hadn’t left. Finally, Hebi let me loose and slithered out of view as I fell to my knees. Geez, he was holding me tighter than I thought…Wait! Where is he going? Turning, I saw the tip of his tail disappear behind one of the many buildings of the city I had been walking through.
My fear abolished by his attention-need, I chased him. I got to my feet feebly, walked over, turned the corner…and froze again. This time I came face to face with a gun – and the wielder wasn’t as affectionate.
