Maziel tripped over one more thing, falling and bruising his knee for what felt like the 50th time today. He sighed and brushed himself off, wearing surprisingly casual clothing. Still new, he's barely gotten everything he needed so far. His rather blank room looked a bit like a nature area, and he hoped it would soon look like it. A fake river was already implemented, and a few plants lay around, waiting to be planted and the dirt t plant them in to come in.

He sat on a fake tree stump, hoping the new child wasn't too hard to deal with. He was terrified, and was the reason he was unable to focus to see his surroundings. He also hoped the new child took his instructions to heart. He had left a note early in the day to the boy's household. He knew how overly protective his brother was, so he had to place some instructions for them to get through his brother, who was probably standing at the door looking like he's about to punch anyone at any time.

"Nothing to do but wait..."

Armed with a map, a blue scale, and a bit of curiosity Duncan was on his way to class. He had been a little surprised by the letter and it contents but didn't say as much out loud. This was exactly what he needed... or at least it might be, another child from this place told him that he might be less sleepy all the time if he had something to do. As such he'd found the only thing to do that was worth doing.... a class.

He was going to learn something new and he was going to use it, maybe this Spiritual stuff would help him in over coming the darker part of himself when the time came for him to take it back into himself. He was thinking to far ahead though, class first was only the first step on a road that would be exceedingly long.

He looked inside the classroom, taking in the odd set up and then looked over at the one he assumed was his teacher, "Ahhh... Hello." He greeted the man.

Maziel looked up as the male entered. Yes, something was very strange about this child. Probably the first in a long line of strange children he must teach. He smiled and beckoned. "Come, Duncan, is it?" He asked into the world, his hand gesturing vaguely to the male. He smiled gently and pat a space on the tree trunk. "Come, sit beside me... I'm Maziel, your spiritual teacher... I'm quite new, please forgive me if I trip over things. Sorry if this place looks like a mess too. I've not yet gotten all I need."

The male smiled again, quite happy. "I can already feel your magic.. it flows unknowing in veins not quite like our blood. However it seems.. somewhat shut down.. as if... suppressed, in a way. Unfortunately, you will not be able to get your full power here until you somehow stop the suppression... though there should be enough that could be discovered."

He beckoned again, become quickly relaxed despite the strange surroundings. "By the way, may I touch you?"

Duncan hesitated for a moment before he walked over toward the man that was sitting in there in front of him, his trio of eyes taking him in before they darted back and forth to take in the classroom. The man said he was new so it would explain why the place seemed... half done. He sat down along side the man, his eyes going wide at what he was saying, "You know about that?" He whispered.

He didn't know that Mr Vampy was going to tell anyone about what had happened to his darker self... he was a little surprised, more so when the teacher said that he wouldn't be able to come into his full power. That was a bit of a downer but at least he would get to explore the magic he had to an extent.

Maziel's next words threw him a bit off balance, "Excuse me?" He asked, eyes all turning to stare at the man as though he'd asked a crazy question... then again given how affectionate, hands on, and overly friendly Adriel was Duncan couldn't but be suspicious of the request.

Maziel smiled and allowed the child to take in what he's said. "Of course I know. It's obvious in your power, it's suppressed. I don't know what happened in your past, but I can only tell you that your power is suppressed. " He replied, frowning slightly as the other seemed surprised. It was hard to explain. "Well, touching is the easiest way to find where the power is most stored. To trace it with one's fingers is the easiest. " He placed a pale and on the other's arm, tracing invisible lines. "Also the best way to find sealed passages to activate... after all... it's like a babe, unknowing of its own existence." He whispered the last part, concentrating.

"Here." He stopped at Duncan's elbow, and made a small grunt, sending a bit of his own energy to reveal a small pool of magic energy in the boy's arm. "If your arm tingles I'm sorry... " He replied softly, before moving away. "Motion to water. Something will happen, though I don't know what. It could set on fire, or transform into some other creature entirely... I don't know."

Duncan relaxed a little and his face flushed just a bit at where his mind had wandered to. He gave a little cough and then blinked, looking at the teacher... debating for a long moment before he finally said, "Its not... suppressed. It's gone." He murmured.

He wondered if he should explain it to the man, it would make things easier he guessed. He just hoped it wouldn't be messing with the contract he'd made, "It's gone... someone got rid of the darkness in me." He just wouldn't use names in his explanations.

His explanations went silent as he felt his hand twitching a little due to the man's fingers trailing over him, "Motion to water?" He murmured then looked toward the water in the room before he lifted his hand up to motion at it.

Maziel felt a rush as the water seemed to leap away from the motion of the male's hand. The water sizzled and evaporated in mid-air, heated to the extreme. He nodded gently. "Ah, of heat. " He murmured quietly. He turned to Duncan with his head, but not with his eyes. "Of heat. You can burn things.. if it is not controlled one could hurt his loved ones. It's weak now, so it probably won't hurt anyone." He replied with a small smile.

"That other part is not gone, I don't think. It's still deep inside, however locked away. One cannot hide from who he is for so long, before the beast escapes and becomes truly uncontrollable. " He warned quietly.

"Now, let us practice with your unused arm, to first summon the heat. Try the water again. Put not just strength, but a burst of anger into your hand gesture... as if you were striking the air in rage. You can make any sort of noise you need to strengthen it. I'll give an example." He gently swayed at the air towards the river, before pointing sharply and letting out a snarled 'burn!'. The water seemed to explode and sizzle, before being replaced by more fresh, cool water.

"Now you try."

Duncan gave a jolt and then blinked a couple times as the water he had pointed at reacted rather violently. He turned to look at it and blinked a couple of times, "Woah..." He hadn't expected that, not at all. Given he was missing a part of his power he'd expected... to be weak. He gave a bit of a grin when he realized that he was far from weak.

His eyes narrowed slightly as he lifted his hand up to try to summon the heat to his hand. It was... an odd thought, to try to use his rage for something useful... he didn't think that was at all possible. He turned to face the water and reached out toward the water. As he reached out he tried to channel his power, any residual anger or rage that might be left in him. He could feel it react even if it were minimal at best.

The water reacted minimally, making a small hiss into the air. Maziel smiled. "Better than what I did when I first tried. " He smiled and pat Duncan on the shoulder. "You're talented. Try and try again." He spoke eagerly, excited now. It was fun, to see a new person bloom in their ability to use magic. His teacher held the same smile years ago, when he was struggling to contorl his own, erratic powers. since then he's become quite powerful, however not much of a fighter.

"Think about the most angry things you have right now, and put all your frustration in one blow... Ah, brother would be better to describe this... I'm not one of anger." He shrugged. "but you are doing well. Try again, it will help the angrier you try to get. "

Duncan starred at the teacher, all three of his eyes showing disbelief... the man wanted him to get angry? Did he had no idea how bad he was when he was mad? Well probably not since he was new. He didn't get angry, well couldn't at the moment... at least not like he used too.

He turned to look at the water, and set to trying again none the less. He bet this would make more of an impact if he were whole... then again if he were he would have a lot harder of a time paying attention well enough to learn to cast.

The more he tried to call on the power, to channel it, to use it the more it seemed to drain him and he could feel that annoying sleepiness that had been plaguing him of late starting to rise. None the less he did his best to continue, not wanting to disappoint the teacher. He both wanted to learn this magic stuff and he wanted to pass this class.

"You seem tired. Stop for now. We shall continue later, but you need a break. What is ailing you, my friend?" Maziel interrupted, gently placing a hand onto the other's casting arm. "To grasp too hard for magic is like grabbing a bar of soap. It will always slip if you grab too hard." He warned gently, before taking a handful of water and drinking gently. "You seem tired. Judt rest and be whole."

The male sighed and placed his fingertips in the water contently. "I don't quite know why, or how, but it seems... anger is not you strength, but it is your magic. You must understand, anger is not a bad thing. There are no such things as bad emotions. Every feeling can be used in any different ways. It is not anger that should be sealed away, for in sealing away anger, the opportunity to learn self control is lost." He murmured... it happened with his brother once. Kind of sad.

He starred at the guy for a long moment before looking down at his feet, "Do you really believe that?" He asked, feeling his hackles rise a little, "I... that part of me... I hate it, I have no control... I hurt people." He sounded upset over it, that the guy thought that anger was somehow useful for anything! It was a totally worthless emotion that he was glad he'd gotten rid of...

He gave a sighing sound, squatting down, "Its tiring though.... without it, that part of me being gone I am just... tired all the time." He sounded a bit as though he were complaining... which was strange. It made it sound as though he just might miss the part of himself that he hated so much.

"I once knew a young male like yourself who had long cursed away his anger when he was young. However because of that, he was weak in body and spirit because even though it was hated, it was still part of him." Maziel spoke, almost sad. He pat Duncan's shoulder lightly. "When he took it back when he needed it, he had no control. He killed many in his blind rage... and nearly killed the one he loved." He spoke softly now.

"You should get your rage back... and quickly... before you can no longer control it and hurt those you love far more than if you had learned to deal with the anger." He spoke gently, before smiling. "That young man learned over the years to calm himself, though he's rather angry still."

PostPosted: Wed Oct 15, 2008 2:11 pm

It made sense even if Duncan didn't want to admit it... to keep that part of himself away wouldn't make it so he could learn to control it. It just made it so he was free of it for a time... if he took it back it might take him over again or he might be able to figure it out. He didn't know and he wouldn't know until he got it back.

"I just need... to find the courage to take it back." He murmured, sounding rather embarrassed over lacking the bravery to deal with the other half of himself, "So that person you spoke of... he was able to over come his darker emotions?" If someone else could do it... did that mean he had the chance...? He felt a tiny spark of hope appear in his chest.

"The courage is in there, I don't doubt it... but you just need to know, you need it to be.. well... you." Maziel replied, chuckling gently. "You'll need it one day, you can be sure. It's better to know it can be controlled, when you need it most. Even the parts we hate the most we need. " He spoke gently, and then giggled slightly when Duncan mentioned if the person was able to overcome.

"Well... he didn't kill you when he let you into my room did he? I don't think he'll ever be able to perfectly control it... But he's long accepted that. " He chuckled gently. He gently tapped Duncan on the shoulder. "Feel more rested?"
