Life was, for the most part, returning to normal for Iniko. That is to say, instead of being all love-struck, he was simply struck. Most likely by song. In all musicals and Disney films, there was a small thin line between simply walking around town and bursting into a complicated song and dance routine. Normally, this line was an apple of some sort. No matter what the film, as soon as there were being apples handed around, a song was going to happen eventually. For Iniko, that line was simply non-existent. He was the sort of guy who, at any moment for no apparent reason, would burst into song and dance.
Normally there was a reason. It just normally wasn’t apparent. Normally, the reason was an attempt to impress a lovely lady (or, more rarely, a handsome gentleman). Or simply for the pure joy of song. Or simply because he was bored. Right now was a rare moment indeed, because the leopard was silent as he lounged about in the jungle. Normally, he would be in the canopy of the trees, but he had just eaten and heights on a full stomach always made him a little queasy. A bad thing in a leopard, but what could he do about it, besides avoid heights on a full stomach?
Night was falling now, darkness steadily stretching across the sky, beyond the reach of the trees. Little fireflies glittered against the backdrop of the leaves; Iniko watched them with amusement before getting up. Sure, he was technically an adult, but life was all about having fun, any kind of fun you could find. Lowering himself to the ground, he stalked the glittering insect, before doing that funny butt-wiggle thing that was instinctual to all cats before launching himself. The firefly danced off, unharmed, and he jumped after it, laughing all the while.
Life was for having fun, for living, for the passion of life itself.

She was pleased, most pleased. Finally she held in her possession pieces of other gods, Lims wing feather crowned her head, a perfect crown for a goddess such as herself and down her shoulder trailed that long sleek piece of mane which had belonged to the fish god. Saana always put her in this mood when she received her new things.
As such she exuded happiness, the markings upon her broad black back shimmered, glowing eerily almost, two pairs of tiny wings, one pair black as night the other white as an angels, flickered and twitched the thousands of tiny trinkets which lined her wings making small bell like sounds which rendered the air with their beautiful almost enchanting sounds.
To look upon her it was easy to see she was not ashamed of who or what she was, a huge jet black goddess akin to a giant house cat the look on her face so smug she may indeed have just gotten the cream.
Padding through the trees her golden flock of hair fell in to her dark eyes as she let her gaze fall upon the soft tan leopard, raising a brow she stopped to watch him frolic a purr escaping her chubby maw as she watched that lithe and slender frame bound about. "Good evening to you dahling." She whispers a twinkle flashing in those deep dark eyes.

Say, watching these little shiny things reminded Iniko, he ought to pick up something shiny for Han. Nothing much, of course. Just something to show that he was thinking of her and everything. Ha! As if there was ever a moment when the cheetah wasn’t on his mind. She was just so… so gorgeous! And graceful. Although the leopard still hadn’t finished a song for her, he had certainly started enough. It felt like no song could ever fully describe her beauty, however, no sonnet could ever convey the right amount of… Iniko’s mind promptly dropped this thought as the gentle sound of bells entered his ear, and possibly echoed around his brain. Hey, bells would be great for Han!
And that was probably the last coherent thought Iniko had for a while, as the most beautiful creature he had ever seen wandered into his line of sight. For the most part, the leopard didn’t find lions all that attractive. They simply didn’t have the same grace or elegance as a leopard or a cheetah. But this one! Oh, now she left all of them in the dust! Admittedly, she wasn’t exactly a lithe little creature, but that only added to her aura of power. It took a special kind of girl to be big and graceful. Iniko promptly stopped chasing after fireflies like a cub; unfortunately, he happened to stop while in midair, which didn’t exactly make for a graceful landing. Still staring at the lioness, Iniko missed his step and ended up in a sort of undignified heap.
Still, he bounced back up soon enough, not looking the least bit embarrassed about it. Only then did he notice the wings on the lioness’s back. One would think that wings would sort of stand out, but, to Iniko, they were merely background noise to the symphony of the lioness’s appearance.
“I think my evening got a whole lot better with your mere presence,” he said grandly, once his mind was able to work once more anyway.

The jet black lionesses maw split in to a wider, pleased grin at the males words, her deep shadowy eyes dancing like onyx gems. "Oh dahling you are a flatterer." She purrs as she slowly moved in to a more restful position. As she lay down she became even more cat like, her body forming a rather large black furry lump, her forepaws folding beneath her large bulk making her seem like a blob with a head.
Licking her dark lips she let her gaze float over the tan, green marked male, allowed herself a moment to admire him, she did so enjoy beauty, it was aftr all a part of her domain to own beautiful things. Perhaps she could own this one if she tried.
"I am Ubuge my sweet, do you live here? I dare say I have never seen you around, I would remember such a handsome beast." She coos her eyes fluttering almost coyly though she was far from guarded in looking him over and admiring his form. "Do you have a name or are you simply a beautiful stranger hmm?"

It took a very special sort of lioness to make all of that bulk seem graceful. Or maybe it was the power that the lioness exuded with every movement. Iniko watched with fascination, even as Ubuge did something as simple as settle down. He tried to be more subtle about watching, but, honestly… the boy was about as subtle as a flying brick. Upon noticing Ubuge’s interest, the leopard moved smoothly, all grace and elegance, or at least as much as he could contrive. About average for a leopard, he was nonetheless sleek and lithe. His real pride, however, lay with his voice.
“Aw… I may very well die of blushing with all the compliments, my lady. No, I don’t live around here. Well, not really…” he paused for a moment, idly wondering why this lovely lady lioness would ask about his abode. Some tiny part of his brain, the part that always kept him alive, pointed out that it could be a trick. But, luckily, this part of his brain was very small and easily ignored. He flashed the lioness a wide grin. “Actually, I live a little north of here. I simply felt like traveling tonight, and I am infinitely glad that I did, or else I would have been robbed of the pleasure of your company.”
What? Name? Oh right! Name! He had one of those. Yes, yes, of course he did. Even as his words came out all silky smooth, his mind scrabbled; seeing a lovely lioness really could make his mind go blank at times. “I’m Iniko, at your service.” Of course he was.

She watched him with quiet, thoughtful eyes, hiding all of that deep dark soul from others was simple for her, she had always done it, it was her place to hide what she truly was, that was how she worked. "What a wonderful name my dahling" She purred gazing at the young leopard her eyes unbarred, she enjoyed looking at beautiful things and he was a beautiful thing so sleek, and those markings, how she wished she could just rob them from his spine.
She let that thought melt away as she stared off through the trees. "You flatter me so sirrah, it isn't often I meet such a kind, charming gentleman out in the jungle, I'm afraid I have been walking all day long and my paws are tired for the ground can be so hard upon them." It was hard to sound hard to do, especially for her, her paws didn't hurt, but she did so enjoy seeing what others would do when she mentioned her aching feet.
Moving one of those paws from beneath her extensive bulk she flashed her dark nails, her toes covered in small rings adorned with gems. She wondered isf thsis boy could be tempted by greed or if he simply lusted, lust was not her domain but lust could quickly become greed should it settle for long enough.

‘My darling’! She was calling him her ‘darling’! If Iniko was the type to swoon from pure pleasure, now probably would have been the perfect moment. Of course, she had been calling him that for a while now; he just hadn’t really noticed it. His grin grew ever wider at the compliments and he puffed himself up a bit more, practically strutting for the lioness. That stopped the moment he heard about her hurt paws, however. His lovely seagreen eyes opened up wide in shock, as if he could never have imagined such a thing.
“I’m sorry to hear about that. Is there anything I can do?” The words just came out of his mouth by themselves, his lips working automatically. Maybe somewhere in the back of his brain, he realized that there really wasn’t much one could do about sore feet aside from simply rest… but, the rest of his brain was in control for now, if ‘control’ actually applied here at all. His eyes briefly flickered down to the shiny stones, but he lost interest in them quickly enough.
Wait… hadn’t he been considering something about shiny stones earlier? Something… his lips pursed themselves, and he looked oddly thoughtful as he tried to remember. Ah well. Clearly, if he couldn’t remember, it wasn’t all that important, he decided, tossing the worries out of his mind. Besides, the lioness outshone her shiny stones easily. “I hate to see a lovely lady in distress,” he said earnestly.

Her long black tail twitched and flickered as she watched him measuring his want for the stones. There was nothing he wasn't interested in her jewelry he was simply love sick for her it seemed. It amused her, at least a little to see him falling for her. Sure she had seen males fall in the past but it was for greed not for this love sick puppy act that this handsome young leopard had going for him.
"I'm sure it'll pass my sweet, why don't you come here and let me look at you more closely, I so admire your beautiful markings" She croons holding out a paw and ushering him towards herself. She exuded the feeling of bliss, the feleing of happiness, what was it that she wanted from this young leopard? She could not tempt him with greed, he seemed to be so star struck that perhaps she would not need her tricks to make him belong to her.
"I'm always looking for a big strong male to help me out, it's been so long since I met someone so helpful as yourself, so helpful so handsome, you must have been crafted by a most wonderful god indeed."

Eee… now he was her sweet! How awesome was that? Not every leopard could claim something like that. This was clearly proof of just how awesome Iniko was, puffing up the leopard’s ego even more. There was absolutely no way he could resist her words, her invitation to move closer. Sure, he was vaguely aware that things normally didn’t move quite this fast, but clearly, this lioness was different. As if the wings weren’t proof enough of that. He inched closer, eyeing the glowing markings on her back with open fascination. And she said his markings were gorgeous?
Wait! She was talking again! His mind scrambled as he searched for something appropriate to say, trying to figure out what she had just said. Failing to listen to a girl, he knew, was a good way to get hurt. Especially considering the fact that Ubuge was bigger than he was. Oh right! He was pretty. Why, yes he was! How kind of Ubuge to notice!
Although, he knew, he wasn’t exactly a ‘big strong male’. He was male, but not particularly big or strong. “Actually, I’m a singer,” he admitted without a trace of shame in his voice. “I don’t think I fully qualify as big or strong, but I’d rather have my voice than all the muscles in the world.”

Ubuge chuckled in an almost playful manner as she touched the males shoulder, her paws gentle her claws sheathed. "Oh my dahling you are much too modest, a beautiful male such as yourself you would be able to protect a lady without any problems." She smiled softly as she looked up at him those deep dark eyes full of something ethereal.
"A singer? How wonderful, I do so enjoy a bard, will you sing a song for me my lovely? I would love to hear your delectable tones." She raised a curious brow her paw still resting upon his shoulder though she tensed her toes a bit, grasping him almost to pull him closer.
"Will you sing a song about me? I do not have a song I'm sure you could create a most delightful melody for me, couldn't you dahling?"

Ubuge didn’t have to work very hard to bring Iniko closer. At first, the leopard tensed; experiences had taught him that, when a lioness did something like this, then the claws would come out soon. And lionesses tended to go for the throat, and not in a good way. But, come on… she was gorgeous! There was no way she was a real threat to him, not with that beauty. Not to mention, she had those eyes… those were eyes that a male really could drown in, and quite cheerfully too, if that was what she wanted. Almost meekly, Iniko allowed himself to be pulled closer.
Oh, a song? She wanted a song! He could do that! His eyes literally lit up at the mention of a song and he became even more animated. In fact, he had been working on a lovely little song that could fit jus… no… wait… it wasn’t any good. His ears fell just a little, signaling some small distress going on inside that skull of his. The song had to be perfect, had to capture all of Ubuge’s beauty… now that he thought about it, he wasn’t sure if that was even possible. But, the option of not trying at all didn’t occur to Iniko. Ubuge wanted a song, so he would give her one.
“Enraptured I gaze, when dear Ubuge is by, And drink the sweet poison of love from her eye; I feel the soft passion pervade ev'ry part, And pleasures unusual play round my fond heart.
I hear her sweet voice, and am charm'd with her song, I think I could hear her sweet voice all day long; My senses enchanted are lost in delight When love and soft music their rapture unite.” Everyone had a talent. Iniko’s talent was in song, with a voice that could---and would--- charm birds from nests.

She listened most intently to his song, pleased to hear his words. It was soothing almost that he thought so much of her. She was enjoying this infatuation, oh and how she would have loved to keep that sweet voice all for herself.
"Tell me my dahling, would you like to come with me hmm?" She smiled her dark eyes shimmering in the half light which streaked down through the trees. "I could use a handsome, strapping male to help me and you, well your voice could ring a light to any ladies day." She coos quietly lifting her paw to brush at his neck then his throat.
"Such wonderful tones, how I wish I could keep them all to myself." a gentle smile lifted her lips then and she looked at him calmly, an almost begging look flickering over her features. She wanted him, wanted his voice his presence, if he would only be convinced by her words.

Another mental squeal of delight rang out in Iniko’s mind at that smile on Ubuge’s face. She liked the song! If the leopard had a fault----actually, he had many, but this was merely his biggest fault---it lay in his inability to tell any woman ‘no’. Unless, of course, the woman in question was asking him to please go away. In that case, he merely developed a random bout of incipient deafness. Aside from cases like that, he never could just tell a lady ‘no’. So, when Ubuge practically begged him to come with her, well, he didn’t even hesitate.
“Of course! I’d be happy to,” he said instantly, purring in delight. “Nothing would make me happier than to spend a few more moments in your company.” As Ubuge’s paw coasted over his throat, he shivered, just a little, out of pure delight. And he was awfully curious about where this lioness lived… he was reasonably certain that he would have seen her before, seeing as there was so much of her. And she had wings, of course. Which sort of reminded him… this lady wasn’t just a goddess in his own mind; she was, quite literally, a goddess. Or that’s what he was thinking anyway.
He wasn’t quite sure what that meant for him, but the idea that a goddess enjoyed his singing---and thought he was handsome---plumped up his ego quite nicely.

She gave an extreme smile then, her maw breaking in to a wide grin. He was giving himself to her, in essence he was about to become hers and hers alone. She needed him,s he wanted him and she was fairly sure she could tell him to go where ever she wanted.
Oh my lovely, I am so happy." She crooned resting her paw on the ground and patting the space beside her. "Come, rest with me my sweet. In the morning you will come with me and we will start our journey together. I have much, important work to do in the world." She whispers her dark jet black eyes resting on the male.
How wonderful this was, she must keep her crooner to herself though, she refused to share him. His voice was far too beautiful to share, it had to be for her ears only, she had to own it.

At first, Iniko simply nodded and smiled at everything Ubuge told him. Well, mostly… his grin slipped a little when she mentioned a ‘journey’. That didn’t sound good… the jungle had been his home for years, ever since he had moved away from his family. And… well… he had gotten rather attached to it. He knew every tree, rock, and stream here. It hadn’t really occurred to him that going away with Ubuge might be like… actually moving. Normally, he’d just spend a few nights with a girl, then come back here, happy as ever. But… well, he could always do that here, right? Best not look too far ahead in the future. His grin returned quickly enough, and he eagerly moved next to the lioness, resting his chin on her back and purring. Mmm… nice and warm! And fluffy!
“…you know, that last statement about how you have much important work to do in the world… what important work do you have to do in the world?” he asked curiously. Hey, if he was going to be with her for a while, he might as well know.
For a brief moment, his mind flickered back to Han, the lovely cheetah he had been courting until he had lost interest. But that was only a moment. And then there was only Ubuge.
