Another flight class. Peri gave a bit of a sigh. She was waiting by the elevator at the canyon and the student had been sent a note about the meeting place. At least it wasn't another fighting class...

Nero sighed as he walked to where he was supposed to be meeting his teacher. He wasn't really looking forward to this class, mostly because it meant he'd have to try and keep Kei under control, which would probably be harder than normal since he'd be on the dragons back throughout most of the class by the sound of it.

As Nero and Kei approached the meeting spot he saw the teacher. Or at least he thought it was. Something about the teacher seemed different from the last time they'd met but Nero decided not to say anything, and instead used his brain to concentrate on not falling since Kei had chosen that moment to give Nero a push from behind with his head. Nero stumbled a few steps before regaining his balance with the help of his six extra legs, looking back a Kei for a second Nero sighed again as the dragon let out his evil sounding chuckle.

Turning back Nero realized he was only a few feet from the teacher now. "H-hello. H-hope we're n-not t-to late. K-Kei g-got into a b-bit of a f-fight w-with El-Ella." He explained.

"No, no. You're fine. No worries." Peri smiled and gestured for the two to get onto the elevator. The three were soon plummeting downwards and within moments were at the bottom with Peri leading the way to a flat area. "Today you're going to be learning to fly together. So, has Kei flown solo any?"

Nero felt his stomach churn a bit at what Ms. Coleman, though he could have sworn it had been Mr. before, said that he and Kei would be learning together. It wasn't just over the fact that he'd have to trust Kei, but also that'd he'd be in the air, not a very pleasant sounding place for someone who preferred underground tunnels.

Glancing sideways at Kei, Nero thought for a moment over the teachers question. "N-not th-that I've s-seen. H-he s-seems to pre-prefer l-laying out in th-the s-sun and sl-sleeping m-more than an-anythi-thing else." Which was true, when Kei wasn't cause trouble to those inside the house he was outside sleeping in the sun.

Peri nodded. "Okay then. We'll have him try by himself first then." She gestured for the wyvern to come closer to where she standing. "Let's see what you can do. Then, after a bit, we'll take a break and I'll talk about some things and then you can both fly together."

Nero let out a small sigh of relief as Ms. Coleman said he wouldn't have to get on Kei just yet. Hopefully Kei would take to flying quickly, Nero didn't want to deal with how he'd act if he wasn't.

Kei stepped forward as the teacher gestured for him. Unlike his boy Kei was actually looking forward to flying. Ah, all the new ways to torment that woman he now had to live with. Kei thought for a moment and decided the best way to get started would be to get on his hind legs since his wings were attached to the front ones. Feh, how hard could this be, he thought as he started to flap his wings. He steadily grew more and more frustrated as his continuous flapping seemed to get him nowhere.

Peri watched for a few moments, waiting to see if the dragon's natural instinct would kick in. In the wild, hatchlings often took flight within hours of hatching, but with people around to feed them here, they often found there was no need...

"Hmmm... try jumping up into the air." She suggested, making it sound as if she was only guessing. Dragons didn't seem to like it that she knew more about flying than they did...

Kei looked over at the teacher, he didn't care that that he sounded like he wasn't sure, he didn't like the teacher making any kind of advice. But he wanted to learn to fly, so rather than causing trouble as he normally would he decided to take the advice.

So Kei resumed flapping his wings as fast as he could and then jumped into the air. This time Kei managed to to become air born for about thirty seconds before he thudded back to the ground. It wasn't as good as he had hoped but still better than nothing which is what his first attempt had given him.

She did not like the way the wyvern was looking at her. But he at least took her advice and it seemed to be working. Which was always good. "Good, good! Keep trying!" She cheered the dragon on. Once he got a bit better, she'd have a break with her usual lecture about air currents and then let child and dragon attempt to fly together some before dismissing them.
