Kylandrei Forest
Captain

User ImageThe forest seemed completely absent a nice breeze today. As light as she was, Misaki was constantly using the wind to boost her movements through the trees. Now, without even a tiny puff of air to help her, she quickly grew tired. Huffing, the little cub floated lazily to the ground to rest. Shutting her eyes, she leaned against the trunk of a tree, oblivious to everything except the sudden awareness that overtook her. "Another one! WOW~!" Eyes shot open again with an excited quickness. Jumping to her her paws, she padded through the underbrush, searching for the one who'd sent out the call. Luckily for the grounded girl, it didn't take too long.

"Here you are, finally!" she shouted, running on enough adrenaline to lift herself back into the air. "The one who called out, right?" As always, she already knew the answer. Examining this new kylandrei, Misaki looked interested. "Your call had an interesting feel to it." With a sheepish smile, she giggled. "But don't worry, 'cause I know what you meant!" Tossing back her head as she laughed louder, her eyes began to glow. The world around them started to melt into something indiscernible before the entire area was overtaken by a white flash. When the light cleared, the world around them had become desaturated and overgrown.

"Your heart world." she started shortly, wasting no time. "Kinda dull, huh?" Giggling more, she looked over the other female's shoulder and pointed. "That mountain is the key. On the other side is a cave. Find it and you'll be able to brighten this world up in no time!" The large mountain was hidden quite well by the canopy, but still visible.

Floating backwards, Misaki smiled. "I believe in you, Miss Seiun! It should be a piece of cake!" With her words, she began to fade away, her form becoming less and less solid. "Good luck! Bye-bye~!" In a fuzzy flash, she was gone, leaving nothing but her laughter echoing through the trees. Now Seiun was alone, left to find the answers to many questions on her own.

Your adventure begins now. Good luck.

Seiun looked around, completely bewildered. Her white pelt, with it's black markings like a negative image of the galaxy, nearly glowed against the washed-out almost-colors around her. Her fierce red eyes did glow, catching what little light there was and reflecting it back many times stronger. Where had that strange Kylan cub come from? She hadn't called out to anyone. Last she remembered, she had been sitting by the stream, letting her mind wander as she listened to it's gurgle.
Perhaps that was it! Perhaps she had fallen asleep, and this was all a dream. Well, if it was, she might as well go along with it. The odd little cub had said something about a mountain, and a cave. In the odd twilight of this seeming dream world it was hard to see, but she thought there was what looked like a mountain to her right. With a mental shrug, she headed off towards the mountain. She knew from experience that she would not wake up until she was ready, and though the place was somewhat dreary it was not entirely unpleasant to her, this almost-light.

Seiun walked for a ways, though the mountain seemed to grow no closer. Through gaps in the canopy she could see stars set in the vast emptiness of space. It was a sight that, ironically, had always seemed to ground her. In this dim worldthe brightness of the stars and the absolute blackness of space were even more awesome than usual, as the washed-out effect did not extend to them.
She was so busy watching the stars, that she forgot to watch the ground. She tripped on an exposed root, sending her crashing to the ground, neck extended. She blinked things back into focus, only to find the first living thing she had seen here mere inches from her nose. It's body was small, no bigger than her paw, and almost perfectly round. It's short fur was a faded, non-descript grey that blended perfectly with this world, but it's eyes were as balck and fathomless as space, with twinkles of intelligence as bright as tiny stars. It poked her in the nose, then with a small chirp it seemed to dissapear into the bushes, only a faint rustling telling which way it had gone. Scrambling to her feet, she took off after it.

Her body bruised and scratched from forcing her way through the underbrush, Seiun stumbled into a small clearing. In the center was a large bush, slightly wilted and faded like the rest of this place, but on it were plump, juicy berries that were a vibrant red. Seiun heard a slight rustling, causing her to glance to her right. There she saw the tiny creature with the night-sky eyes happily eating the red berries. As it ate them, it's fur became slightly less drab, and she thought she saw a hint of markings. She walked over, pleased when the creature did not flee again. She looked at the berries, curious, then leaned down to try one.
The little creature made frantic chittering noises and shoved her muzzle away from the berries. It did not seem angry, as it should have been if it just wanted all the berries itself, more concerned. As if the berries might harm her if she ate them. But hadn't it just been happily eating them? She was confused, but decided to go along with the little critter.

When it was sure she would not eat the berries, the small creature chirruped, as if in approval. It looked at her for a moment, head tilted to one side, then scampered into the bush. Before she could decide if it were gone for good, and she should continue towards the mountain, it reappeared with a small flower in it's mouth. The flower was plain, and would have been unremarkable normally, but it was the same brilliant red as the berries, which made it stand out in this washed-out place. It held out the flower to her, and when she leaned down to take it, it darted to the side and stuck the flower behind her ear. Surprised, but pleased, she thanked it. It then scurried up a tree and, traveling branch to branch, left. Apparently it no longer was interested in her. With a mental shrug and a small smile, she continued on her way.
