Thanksgiving in the U.S. is officially the 4th Thursday in November, not dictated by a set date, but day of the week and which week that day falls on,
My mother was born on Thanksgiving, 11/24/XXXX. We always celebrated her birthday, when Grandpa was alive, only on Thanksgiving because that is the only day he would recognize as her birthday. Of course, Dad and my sisters also celebrated 11/24 with my mom. Grandpa said that since my mother's birth interrupted his Thanksgiving dinner, that he would always remember my mom best on that day. Since mom was the oldest of his extended family siblings, and Grandpa's favorite- hehe- we did what Grandpa wanted. And if you can't tell, I loved my Grandpa and would have done just about anything to make him happy- and he was always happy on Thanksgiving.
