Description: Though Manten is primarily Kirika's friend, Mirelle considers him a sweet and strong alley, and has found herself impressed by his baking skills. Hiten, on the other hand, has been close to Mirelle since she was a baby. Her "cousin," he has impressed her with his weapons training and his cool, confident demeanor. Plus, he rarely treated her as a kid, even when she was younger than him. When she learned his uncle had tried to abuse him, her protective instincts sealed the deal; anyone that really, truly hurt Hiten would quickly find themselves on the business end of her enchanted .45, few questions asked. However, she doesn't think of him romantically, and indeed, considers him "off-limits" as Freya's special friend.

Description: Another person more Kirika's friend than hers, Mirelle thinks of Conan as one of the brightest and most intelligent people she knows. She is also just slightly jealous of his relationship with her twin; whether this is related to her past life or simply the fact that she is protective of Kirika, no one is quite sure. As her Aunt Jeane's son, he is considered "hers," and definitely under her protection.

Description: A definite friend since Mirelle's babyhood, Sesshomaru has never seemed to treat the blond assassin as anything less than an equal, no matter how much younger she was. He taught her to walk, and basically finished their secret Training Hall while the Traverse Family was away; he is also an accomplished fighter, something Mirelle admires, and quite smart. At the moment, it seems as if she might have a slight crush on the dog demon, though being Mirelle, would never admit it. She also knows Rini cares for Sesshomaru, and doesn't want to hurt the pink-haired girl if she can avoid doing so.

Name: Chii and Freya

Description: Although they haven't seen each other since they were children, Mirelle was quite taken with this other set of twins. Chii, though more of Kirika and Rose's friend, was sweet and innocent enough to make Mirelle feel protective. Freya was one of Mirelle's few best friends - and indeed, her only female best friend - with a matchingly cool and confident attitude. Now that they are teens, Mirelle looks forward to seeing them again.

Description: More Chloe's friend than Mirelle's, Shippo is nonetheless a bright and fierce fighter, something the blonde assassin respects. An important friend and ally to the quartet as a whole, Mirelle only has one real anxiety; his ongoing battle with Hiten, which seems to be growing both more violent and outlandish.

Description: Most people describe Rune as impulsive, kind, intelligent and stubborn, with a rather old fashioned sense of nobility and loyalty and placing a high value on honesty. To her, family and friends - whom she usually considers family - are the most important things in the world, along with doing 'right' and protecting innocents. Anyone that needs help from her is very likely to get it, no matter what the cost to Rune herself, and she would do whatever it took to save or protect the people she cares about. That isn't to say she's perfect, however. Her temper is legendary among most of her kin, especially her impatience with jerks or bigots, and she has a bad habit of accidentally blowing things up when she gets angry. Furthermore, although she can make sexual jokes and innuendo with the best of them, she is fairly innocent, tending to blush or become embarrassed when dealing with her actual feelings.

Description: An anthromorphic Dragon Tenjutsu, currently in teen form, and Rune's eldest daughter, Dray has dark red hair and blue-green dragon wings. Outgoing, vibrant, and generally cheerful, she loves fighting, both with weapons and without, and will often do her best to teach the younger children to spar, even though she isn't always the best. Her one major bane is cooking, which can often lead to huge messes or charred clumps of unrecognizable once-food.

Description: One of the only purely ninja Tenjutsu, Shaz is Rune's eldest son and in the teen stage. Calm and quiet, he is almost cold with people he doesn't know, but his observant nature and gentle, even temper make it easy for him to take charge of the younger kids, and even earn the respect of older people if he needs it. Thanks to his intensely developed sense of justice, he does have a weakness for the underdog, and will often jump in to defend someone he feels is being picked on.

Description: An anthromorphic Silver Cat Tenjutsu, Nikki is only slightly younger than Dray and Shazran, though she is also a teen. Due to a battle just before she was adopted, she has four large claw-tracks across her face, as well as her silver cat ears and tail. Already extremely shy, she is very much conscious of her scars, and constantly worries that people will reject her or make fun of her because of her appearance. However, she absolutely adores children, especially babies, and willingly babysits for her younger siblings whenever they need it. She also seems to have the common family loyalty trait, and one of the few times anyone will ever see her fight is in defense of the people she considers hers.

Description: A Created Heirling / Tenjutsu hybrid, Alter has green-feathered angel wings and the tattoos of her two elemental abilities - Water and Air - across her shoulders. Although Rune's first adopted daughter, she's actually the fourth oldest, only a Pre-teen. Sweet and scholarly, she is also a voracious reader, and can be a fountain of obscure information at times. Her other secret passion is baking, which she's taught quite a few of her younger siblings.

Description: Rune's first adopted child without ties to Illuzen, Kairnai is a hyperactive water faerie child with an insatiable sweet tooth. Usually about the size of a chipmunk, she has a diamond pendant she wears around her neck that enables her to grow to the size of a normal human her age. She loves to fly everywhere and get into everything, and often zooms around like a small rocket, mostly playing with her siblings' little familiars. On the other hand, she does like reading and baking, just as her big sister Alter does, and can sit for hours watching her favorite cartoons.

Relation: Younger brother, twin of Aeris
Description: Another of the human-looking Tenjutsu, Cody is actually an incarnation of the Temporal Ninjutsu Trickster god, similar to Loki in the Pre-teen stage. He loves playing pranks and teasing others, including his family, though he has slightly outgrown his more outrageous pranks since Raven tied him to his bed as a child. His favorite jokes usually involve transformations - a facet of the Earth element - and some of the common Ninjutsu telekinetics. That's not to say he's mean or evil, however. Quite the contrary, in most cases; though he's sarcastic and annoying, he would die before letting anything happen to his family or friends, and can mostly be counted on to take care of his siblings in a pinch. Indeed, he's gotten into more than a few fights defending his brothers and sisters, particularly Ravenbrooke.

Description: Cody's twin in terms of age, Aeris is an anthromorphic golden eagle Tenjutsu, with large, golden-feathered wings. Endlessly cheerful and mostly easy-going, she loves flying and animals more than just about anything, and can often be found playing with the dozens of animals the family has. Her favorite pets are the Miendrakes and the Glowbirds, though she's only recently gotten out of her habit of leaving the cage doors open. She has a special relationship with Shiran, having rescued him from the scientists in the forest, and has tried her best to meet his sister Yumoa, though so far she hasn't yet.

Name: Ravenbrooke Daimon Traverse

Race: Banir Kinder, risen demon
Relation: Younger sister
Description: Rune's oldest Banir Kinder adoptee, Raven is a little demon whose tendency to protect others and stand up for the innocent actually got her thrown out of Hell. Extremely intelligent for her age, she originally had a problem relating with people or showing her emotions at all; after a few rough patches, mostly with her older brother Cody, she has grown into a sweet and loving little girl who fiercely protects others. Like Alter, she loves to read, and enjoys watching anime. Her best friend is her Aunt Keiko's daughter Acrasia, called 'Rasia' for short.

Name: Shiran Ookami Traverse

Race: Banir Kinder, werewolf
Relation: Younger brother
Description: Probably the most 'animalistic' of Rune's many children, Shiran was adopted when Aeris and Ramene discovered him in the forest under attack by evil scientists. As a werewolf, he is covered in dark fur with black markings, a blue thatch on top, and is as comfortable on four feet as on two. He is also the only one of the children with known biological family; his packmates, Yumoa, Reeve, Marfa, Tsuche and Kaumi, were all rescued and adopted by other Banir guardians. Though he initially had quite a few problems with his heritage and his own place between his two families, he has finally recovered well, and has become a surprisingly well-adjusted little pup. He has also discovered a talent for teaching, mostly within his own family, and is enjoying his new status as a 'leader' to little Rin and Lin.

Description: One of Rune's first adopted twins, Aura is the sister of Cayanne and a Willow Leafling, a small, green-haired little waif who loves drawing and playing dressup. A sweet, quiet child, she is an extremely gifted artist, usually found with a sketchbook and pencils in hand. Like Nikki, she enjoys taking care of smaller kids, and often organizes games or activities for their amusement; she is also slightly shy with large groups of people, tending to stick close to her family members when she isn't sure about the atmosphere around her. On the other hand, she has a bit of a temper when it comes to her pet peeves, like snobs or people being deliberately insulting without reason.

Name: Cayanne Pepper Traverse

Race: Leafling, Pepper
Relation: Younger sister, twin of Aura
Description: The second of Rune's first twinset, Cayanne is the sister of Aura and a Pepper Leafling. With vivid red hair and a matching outgoing disposition, she tends to flash from one activity to another with flaming speed; appropriate, considering her aptitude with flame magic. Although sweet and generally cheerful, her exuberance can sometimes drive people nuts, although she really just wants to help. Like Aeris, she has a special soft spot for her big brother Shiran, and absolutely loves helping him teach the little children. She was also the one who came up with the idea of dressing like a werewolf to make him feel better, and once snuck a transformation spell from her aunt's mage-cabinet to make herself into a true werewolf. It didn't work, but the whole episode convinced Rune that the hyperactive little spitfire needed her own special training in spells and potions.

Description: The 'baby' of Rune's Banir Kinder, Tex was adopted around Christmas time, another risen demon that had been kicked out of Hell. In his case, it was for being entirely too nice and cheerful, as well as for being obsessed with all things related to the West and cowboys. Noble and rather pure of heart, he often plays dumber than he really is to diffuse tense situations and arguments, particularly if his presence can distract the people involved. Not that he isn't above the occasional prank or tease; far from it, in fact, as he loves helping Cody and has always looked up to his big brother.

Description: A little anthromorphic girl with large eyes and deer features, this small child's middle name is something of an irony, because there are very few people with quicker minds or sharper intuition . . .or a more sarcastic tongue, when she feels the need. Taken under Raven's wing for the early part of her childhood, Nia is sweet and lovable to those of her family, as well as those her siblings have taken as 'theirs.' On the other hand, she is pragmatic to a fault, and anyone considering attacking the people she loves could very likely find themselves incapacitated - or worse - by this innocent-looking child.

Name: Chloe Jasmine Traverse

Description: One of Rune's third set of twins, redheaded Chloe is a Tenjutsu whose abilities were altered to fit those of a girl in Mirelle and Kirika's past lives. Cheerful, blunt and something of a wild child, Chloe only listens to those she considers worthy of their authority, such as her mother and her 'aunts' or 'uncles.' She loves fighting and being a warrior, though she enjoys the 'purity' of blades rather than the guns her sisters' use, and considers it the duty of strong people like herself to take care of those weaker or smaller. Her best friend - and possible boyfriend, though she would never admit it - is Shippo.

Relation: Same-age sister, twin of Chloe
Description: The Tenjutsu twin of Chloe, Rose was also altered to become the fourth of their set. Less strong in her physical fighting abilities than her siblings - though still better with battle than most normal people - she has been cultivating her magic from an early age, and is considered the resident mage of the quartet. A warrior at heart, she is also a scholar, and loves to read up on everything and anything she can get her hands on, especially related to battle. Rose is also fiercely intelligent, with more than a bit of sarcasm under her belt, and will often attack verbally anyone she considers as a snob or a jerk.

Description: Though his name was intended as a Japanese version of Yogi the Bear, the anthromorphic little bear boy is neither cartoony nor dense. Rather, he is a dedicated young magician, whose love of studying and performing various arts of sorcery have made him a strong and confident warrior. With a keen mind and intuitive nature, he tends to make friends easily, though his heart is usually buried in some dusty, forgotten tome or working out a new magic trick. His one pet peeve about himself is his flying - with wings that aren't as fully developed as those of his siblings, he isn't quite up to flying long distances or as high as he might like to. Teddy, his small familiar, has actually been doing his best to teach his 'master' how to fly better.

Description: A lovely anthromorphic hamster girl with fluffy angel wings, little Hime certainly lives up to her name as Princess and 'beautiful sweet.' She doesn't really appear to have a mean bone in her body; she loves baking, usually helping Alter with brownies or spice cakes, is learning to draw from Aura, and just adores taking care of babies and small children. Always able to listen and with a sympathetic ear, she is quiet and just slightly shy, often staying in the background when she has a choice. Her little friend Shou, on the other hand, loves getting out and meeting new people, especially children.

Description: Nearly identical to his twin sister Kaya, the anthromorph ram is a picture of an elegant and proper gentleman. He pulls out chairs for others, opens doors, and almost always answers with "yes, m'am" or "no, sir." He loves the style and grace of swordplay and weapon fighting, and has dreams of becoming a great weapons master within the family. On the other hand, he has a slight, well-hidden streak of temper, which usually comes into play when he sees others being racist, bigoted or generally jerks. His familiar, Hitsu, has a small swordbelt with a little dagger that he's actually been taught to use.

Description: The twin of Koro and almost identical to him, Kaya is a sweeter, slightly more outgoing version of her big brother. Usually preferring to dress in male clothing - such as suits, slack pants and jeans - she loves swords above most other weapons, and has dreamed about being a great swords woman for most of her life. She has some slightly modern traits, however; most notably, when Mirelle grew to a teenager, she convinced her older sister to let her get both her horn and her ear pierced with golden hoops. Her familiar, Menyou, also has a small earring, and wears a little belt with several tiny blades attached.

Description: Athletic, agile and fearless, Momo is a warrior in all senses of the word, even more than Kaya or Shazran. She loves to spar, both on the ground and in the air, and can usually find a willing partner in her big sister Dray. Sometimes a bit of a loudmouth, she has no problem telling others when they're being 'stupid,' and once or twice a jerk has found themselves on the receiving end of a whack with her gold-tipped staff. Thanks to Kaya, she also has her left ear pierced with a gold chain and earcuff, from which a monkey charm dangles. Her little familiar, Yaen, usually zooms around like a small rocket near her, and she can often be found hanging out with Kairnai.

Name: Rin Aiko Traverse

Description: A sweet little kitsune, Rin is more hyperactive than most children, almost like a baby fox kit. An anthromorph, she has long, brown hair, a feudal Japanese-style tunic, and silver furred fox ears and constantly wagging tail. She is always certain she can make friends with just about everyone, no matter how anti-social they might be, and thinks nothing about walking up to a stranger to have a conversation or babbling on about any little thing. Her childishness and naive do have a price, though; she is extremely innocent, and is often shocked or more hurt than most children would be by a mean insult or attack. She is very often found with her cousin Lin and big brother Shiran, in spite of the fact that she is a fox rather than wolf, and the other two sometimes consider her an adopted member of their pack.

Description: One of Rune's newest adoptees, this adorable little girl was cloned and manipulated from two different DNA sources, one a legendary mage around whom the Illuzen myth of Dragonrise is centered. After somehow escaping the scientific center where she was created and imprisoned, she was found by slavetraders and sold to a horrible noble master. Rune discovered her while on a relief trip in Illuzen, and with her friend Tenshi's help, arranged her adoption through the Identity Center. Shy and easily frightened by people she doesn't know, she is incredibly bright with certain things, and adores babies.

Name: Horo Horo Rei Traverse

Description: One of Rune's youngest children, Horo Horo is a baby Shaman, with the ability to see, communicate and sometimes control spirits. With spiky blue hair and a love of food, little Horo is usually quite sweet, though he is stubborn and can be manipulative when he feels the need. Protective of his siblings, especially the twins Daimon and Angel and his new little sister Yvette, he is otherwise friendly, and loves to meet other people as well as making friends. His one pet peeve is fighting; he hates when people who love each other argue, especially if it seems senseless or silly. He loves Flint, Rune's love / hate companion, and insists on calling him 'Daddy' in spite of Rune's irritation over it. His new best friend is Mengde, Anvion's young Porcelain, who he considers a brother.

Name: Daimon Oni Traverse

Relation: Younger brother, twin of Angel
Description: A demon baby boy who showed up on Rune's doorstep early one morning, Daimon is a Tenjutsu. Through magic, Flint has confirmed that his twin sister is Angel, the second baby found on the porch in their double basket. With dark, spiky hair, black tattoos around his amber eyes, pointed ears, slightly clawed hands, batlike leather wings and a spade-ended tail, he is rather loud and curious for his apparent age, and loves getting into things. His favorite games are 'boink' and banging pots and pans together, as well as anything loud and potentially funny. He is also learning to fly with his appearing / disappearing bat wings, and has actually made friends with little InuYasha.

Name: Angel Tenshi Traverse

Description: Daimon's smaller twin sister, Angel is almost the exact opposite of her brother in terms of physical appearance. With an impossibly soft shock of curly blond hair, she has vibrant blue eyes, silver tattoo marks along her shoulders, and feathered angel wings. Although still stubborn and protective if she thinks she has to be, Angel is usually quite gentle and sweet-natured, and even has a small streak of shyness when it comes to large groups of people. At the moment, she enjoys being with other infants, and has actually discovered she likes Vincent, Jeane's little Tenjutsu son.

Name: Yvette Marie Traverse

Relation: Younger sister
Description: Currently Rune's youngest daughter, Yvette is a little Sin baby, of the zucchini element. With golden hair and dark, deep green eyes, she has tattoo-like markings in the shape of vines around her wrists and shoulders. In personality, she is sweet, fun-loving and adores meeting new people, particularly other Sin. Her favorite activity, when she isn't playing with Horo Horo, Daimon and Angel, is being read to, usually by Alter or Ravenbrooke. She seems to have an almost innate sense of people she can trust or be friends with, often referring to them as pretty; young as she is, she's already seemed to make good friends with Ancelin, Lorelei, Cameo and little Flitch, who she adores.
