*The Crystal sphere made by MK arrives in a shaded place. The sun is just beginning to fall out of the sky, and they are within a treeline, just on the outskirts of a small town. MK and Nalini are dropped out of the sphere and onto the soft ground, just inches below. The sphere leaves as it came, making no sight or sound to anyone or anything*
We are here.

'Jesus Christ,' Nalini whispered, as she glanced about, holding a hand to her mouth.
Her attention was distracted by a noise not too far from them. Her head whipped around as she tried to make out who else was there.
A young woman, looking to be in her mid teens was hurriedly walking along. She kept her hands to herself, and her head was bowed. Long shadows stretched out behind her, and her expression was one of mild worry.
Her hair reached just past her shoulders, and was a pure white. A long, ankle length dress whipped around her legs as she swiftly continued walking.
Nalini moved along silently to keep up when she realised that she had already stumbled across her teenage self.
A dark, ominous figure was keeping a watch on her. He stepped out of the shadows, holding one arm out to her retreating back, and his hand instantly began to smoke as it came into contact with the fading light of the sun. A bright flash of crimson shot out from his eyes, as he let out a loud, angry hiss...

*MK kept pace with Nalini, and whispered to her as they went along*
Remember, you are to involve yourself in no way. Our voices to them are but a faint nothing on the wind, but you can still physically damage the past.

'I have no intention of doing so,' she hissed back, her eyes now rigidly fixated on the hissing figure.
The past Nalini screeched to a halt, and looked about, her young face startled. Her eyes were searching for the source of the hiss, yet found nothing. She squinted, and thought she could make out the glimmer of a lengthy tooth as the figure retracted back into darkness...
Her heart racing, she turned away, deciding that she had best get to her destination as soon as possible; God only knew what would happen if she lingered too much.

Just saying, that is all. Time travel is a very testing experience, and it takes masterful skill to move about without changing time.

'...Thanks for telling me that before we came here.'
Past Nalini turned a corner, picking up speed slightly, when she felt something reach out and touch her arm. She spun on her heels, and looked at the ghostly pale hand that was tightly clenching her. There was another hissing noise, but it was not from the vampire that had clasped her; it was the sound of him burning in the fading sunlight.
Smoke rose off his entire body, and Nalini could feel her chest tightening as her panic rose. She let out a gasp as he snarled warningly, his ruby eyes gleaming dangerously.
A second, gnarled hand was pressed firmly over her mouth, to stifle any further cries. Her lips were crushed against her teeth, and she found herself being inexorably pulled away.
Present Nalini bit her tongue, frowning darkly as she watched the scene unravel. She still could not recall any of it at all, did not recognise the vampire in the slightest. She silently ran after the pair, determined not to let them out of her sight.

*MK kept pace with Nalini still, not even seeming to breathe hard or anything. He moved along as if his feet weren't even touching the ground- and it's because they weren't. He was floating along with Nalini, no effort at all*
Had I told you before, you might not have come. You seemed so young here...

'I know,' Nalini quietly agreed. '...I'd say she - uh, I - was about...midteens? Ish?'
The vampire hauled Nalini into what looked like an abandoned house. He forced her roughly through the door, and she toppled over, landing on the floor with a thud.
There were already a few peple milling about, looking at the pair with a vague interest, before turning their attention elsewhere. Nalini glanced cautiously about, and saw that most of them wore long, black cloaks, the hoods pulled up to hide their faces. Yet she could still make out the occasional flicker of a red eye.
Feeling a red hot rush of fear in the pit of her stomach, Nalini forced herself back up onto her feet, her legs getting entangled in her dress, and tried to flee. Quick as lightning, her kidnapped reached out, and tightly grasped her wrist. She was going nowhere.
He held her tightly to his chest, as she whimpered. She flinched, wanting as little contact with him as possible. He released her wrist, and tenderly, almost lovingly ran a hand across the skin on her throat.
Beside the Captain, the present Nalini's upper lip had curled back in a silent snarl, revealing her own lengthy fangs.

'For ******** sake, I'm not going to do anything!' she almost inaudibly protested.
The vampire leant closer to Nalini, looking almost as though he was going to kiss her, and opened his mouth. She tensed when she felt his sharp fangs brush lightly against her skin, piercing it, sinking down into her jugular vein.
She could feel something thick trickle down her throat, which was followed shortly by a rippling blast of excruciating agony tearing through her, as her kidnapper began to feed.
She let out a pained yell, her face screwed up. Her eyes were tightly clenched shut, and she wanted nothing more than to shove the stranger off her, yet was not able to muster up the strength to lift her arms. She could do nothing more than yell in pain, and hope that somebody would come to her aid. The sensation of her blood being drained from her was most uncomfortable, and she prayed that it would come to an end soon.
'...Christ,' Nalini whispered again.

'You're damn ******** right it isn't,' she murmured, and reached out for MK's hand.
Nalini was dropped to the floor like a ragdoll when her kidnapper had finally finished feeding. She barely moved as he turned away, and a couple of hooded figures gathered her up in their arms, before bundling her into a back room.
Present Nalini moved so she was face to face with her kidnapper, glowering darkly at him, even though he could not see her. She searched his face, trying to remember even the slightest detail about him, yet still nothing came to mind. She cautiously pushed past him, and made her way delicately through the other vampires, into the room where her past self had been so unceremoniously dumped in.
The scene had changed; Nalini was beginning to awaken, after being unconscious for over twenty four hours. It was clear that somebody had been tending to her while she was out, for there was a bandage around her throat. She had no idea who, but she was grateful that at least somebody took care to make sure the minute flicker of life that had been left within her had not dwindled out.

'Hmph.'
'Don't move,' another voice ordered, as somebody else entered the room.
Nalini's grasp on the Captain's hand instantaneously tightened, until she was clasping him as hard as possible. She dug her sharp fingernails into his hand without realising she was doing so, as a low, dangerous growl escaped her throat. It was only loud enough for him to hear, and she did not seem to realise she was doing it.
'...W-What happened?' Nalini asked, her voice small and frightened.
The newcomer looked vaguely feminine, although it was impossible to tell for certain. Like the others who had witnessed Nalini's entrance with her kidnapper, this new person wore a long, hooded cloak. But only half of the stranger's face was visible, as the hood was worn low. All Nalini could see was a mouth.
It smiled broadly, showing off two lengthy canines.

Careful of your grip there dear. I wouldn't like to bleed.
So... I take it we both know who this is then?
