To have called this 'creature' a Tin Man would have been inaccurate as well as mildly insulting to anyone that had the emotion and forethought of being insulted. The tall humanoid man-thing peered over and around the divider that kept the plants safe in their little area and hopefully stopped overgrowth. His eyes were but simple milky orbs of otherwise clear crystal. The skin of the man-thing was silver and looked like it would offer the same resistance and feel of human skin but it was very unlikely. His 'hair' would best be described as long black cords held together by a single band of white in form of a ponytail that hung at the nape of this being's neck. The angles of his face were sharp and clear and very elvin in design, even his ears were pointed but they were a bit longer than normal elvin ears had right to be, in fact the tips went past the back of his cranium a good inch or two.

"Plants." He said in a soft voice that almost sounded tinny and echo-y even coming from his own body.

That is not to say that Gwen and David were not bizarre in their own right. After all, David was a boy in a carriage with a basket full of wriggling tentacles that seemed to extend from his body, and Gwen was an albinoid girl in bizarrely medieval attire. The woman adjusted her frock and sighed, touching a sprig of wisteria gently. She still needed to make up for the flowers David had appeared in; they were nothing but ashes to fertilize the new plants' soil.

"Hm. How about this one, sweetie?"

"Buh."

"That's what I thought."

After long moments of staring down at the plants the tall metal man stepped back from the enclosure and began to wander. He walked with a gait of sureness in each step, firm and unyielding as his boots impacted the ground. He wore a simple pair of slacks and a dress shirt for the occasion of visiting the botanical center. He had nothing else to do with his time now that he had been freed. A concept he still didn't quite comprehend.

Quietly he wandered past a woman and her child. He paused and faced the pair, "Pardon, child and woman, what is 'Buh'?"

Gwen looked up at the man and giggled. She had been around so long, absolutely no physical appearance could startle her any longer. In fact, she thought this guy was cute!

"Oh, it's nothing. Just a nonsense word he likes to use."

His head canted faintly to the side as he listened to the woman explain what the meaning of the word was. Only once did he blink in response, "I see, thank you, woman." He said simply. The metal man didn't have any expression pass over his face as his head straightened once more and he began to slowly move along.

The man had the social graces of a large rock.

Gwen still thought he was pretty cute. Not dating-cute, but child-cute.

"My name's Gwendolyn," she said, scampering after her. David just meeped form his carriage. They were going fast! Hrm. Why was Mommy following the man?

He stopped again upon hearing her move after him with the child in his carriage. The man stopped turning to face them once more. This time his face showed an expression and it was the expression of confusion. Generally people ignored him or answered his questions and moved on. Rarely, if ever, did they reach out to him.

"Gwen. Do. Lyn." He said quietly in a odd stop-and-go manner before repeating, "Gwendolyn. This one will remember." He replied glancing down to the carriage a moment before looking back up.

"Do you desire my identification, Gwendolyn?"

"Oh, and this is David," Gwen said, gesturing to the carriage. David heard his name and giggled, waving a chubby little hand.

"'ai!"

"That's his 'hello'," the woman said, lest the large metal man again not know, "And yes, I would very much like to know your name."

"Da.vid." He said in the same manner as Gwendolyn's name.

"This one will remember, David," he slowly said before the small voice caught his attention. "I see, 'ai David-child."

The man looked up at Gwendolyn once more, "This one is called Ethe'oj. You may call this one what you like."

Gwen was still smiling, undeterred by the man's cold expression. David just giggled and played with his own fingers. He liked this man!

"Why do you call yourself 'this one' instead of 'I'?"

Tilted his head from woman to child quietly observing one and then the other in an odd sort of way. Quietly he moved to watch the child more carefully.

"This one doesn't know. Just how this one always talked since creation. This one assumes it is something the master decided for their own amusement." He said in a vague sort of way. Ethe'oj seemed to be gradually warming up.

"Is David-child not hurting?"
PostPosted: Fri Oct 10, 2008 8:31 pm

"Oh, no! He's fine!" Gwen said, giving another delighted little giggle, "He's happy is all!" Oh, and he was. David was burbling and sucking on his fingers and getting drool everywhere.

"'ai."

"David-child is happy then this one is content." He says lightly as his hand reached out toward the child in the carriage. Mostly he seemed to be impressed by the output of drool the child seemed to have.

"Gwendolyn, your child leaks liquid." He observed.

"Yep! That's just spit. Held us digest, keeps our mouths wet. When he's sad, he cries salty water, too," Gwen said, absolutely loving to be a teacher, "Out his eyes."

David reached out, giving a hard belly-laugh, and grabbed Ethe'oj's hand. The feeling simply made him laugh again. Gwen grinned proudly down at him.

"'AAAAAIIIIII~"

"Ah, yes, organisms have tear ducts and other such things and it produces liquids and moisture. This one remembers now. This one has not been around living organisms for a while." He said idly and allowed for the child to grasp the cold metal hand and pull at it or do whatever he wished with it.

"Where is David-child's Sire?" To the metal man the question wasn't odd, rude, or out of place.
