Welcome to the Bistre Forum!
No subforums just yet, but just you wait, they're on their way.
Before all else, I feel it should be mentioned that
Pokemon and its affiliates are copyrights of Nintendo and Satoshi Tajiri,
as you all should know.

Now, I'll do a quick rules run-through so that we can get to the good stuff.

Rules.

1. Gaia's ToS. Obviously.

2. Platonic friendships should be more common than romantic ones ... remember most of the characters should be ten.

3. Be civilized, you don't have to like each other if the roleplay moves smoothly, but there should be no need for insults in any OOC threads.

4. Have a writing style, by which I mean I use double brackets (( )) when speaking out of character, quotations " " when speaking and italics when thinking; this doesn't have to be your method, but please make sure your style is consistent and decipherable.

5. Have content in your writing. If you can relay everything that needs to be said in one sentence, then that's brilliant, but do be sure to give your fellow writers something to work with.

6. I'm going to limit two main characters per roleplayer for the moment, but just be sure to let me know if you're going to cameo a character through a town or if you're interested in hosting an NPC.

7. This is a very liberal rule, but try not to let post trains get past ... five. If you don't know what that means then a very specific explanation is: You know when you quote someone so that you can see what they said last? Don't let that take up a whole page.

8. Cursing should be rare. As I said before, most characters should be ten, and very few ten year olds swear, and then even fewer pokemon characters swear, so be nice with your words.

9. Please post once every three to five days, and this rule is subject to great change, but I believe this is a fair request. Should you have any trouble with this (ie. I only get online on Saturdays), then let me know, and we'll discuss a proper place for you in the roleplay.

10. It's safe to say I, or my eventual crew, won't always be online to establish who of two trainers has won a battle. For this rule I simply ask you to be reasonable and relaxed, and if necessary roll a die or generate a random number. I don't want battles to induce conflict.

11. a) When you start the roleplay, you don't have to start in Dryleaf Town (the town with our pokemon laboratory). You can start in anywhere in Bistro. Professor Cactus can have starter pokemon shipped out by fearow, however remember that it would be best if everyone did start in the same place, so that we can all speak with one another.
b) When traveling, don't just pop up somewhere, and don't pretend you can get from Dryleaf to Cloyster City in the blink of an eye ... I'm sorry if I'm being cruel, but I would like some physics to apply.

12. I promise not to play as my own NPC with exception to Professor Cactus, and Gym Leader Battles if required.

13. When someone encounters a wild pokemon, to establish what that will be, I expect all trainers (or what-have-you's) to roll a dice from 1-10. Numbers 1 through 6 will receive an encounter with a common pokemon. Seven through 9 encounters will be with uncommon pokemon. While only 10's will warrant a chance encounter with a rare pokemon. It will be at the discretion of the NPC whether any pokemon is ever caught. Please play fair.

And that's it for the rules.

Maps.

This is Bistre in reference to the rest of the pokemon world ...
except Sinnoh is missing from this map for some reason ...
it should be north of Kanto.
If you know nothing of the pokemon world,
the only relevant piece is that the top left is Bistre.

This is a close up of Bistre.

It looks more complicated than it is;
and hopefully more detailed maps are on their way...

If you do not wish for the descriptions of the regions,
skip over the next paragraph.

If you look at the second map,
the town in the bottom left corner is Dryleaf,
the traditional starter town in Bistre.
From there, you would take Trek 1,
the pathway to its immediate left / west border,
to where you see a white/grey dot which is a small chain of mountains
referred to as the Bubbles, as they host a hot spring.
The next likely choice is to keep heading left / west,
across Trek 2 to Poison Ridge, home to the first contest arena,
and an obvious reserve of poison type pokemon.
Subsequently you would have to continue west on Trek 3,
towards Tumbleweed Town, home of the first pokemon gym.
Once that obstacle has been overcome,
you would have to travel north-east / to your upper right,
where the white dot representing Arthax, the dormant volcano.
The path accessible from Tumbleweed is lower in the cliff side,
and leads only outwards on the other side to wilderness,
through which the trainer must continue onto the village
to the south-west / lower-left, Steel Haven,
home to the second pokemon gym.
North of // Above Steel Haven is Trek 4 and then Tempertown,
home of the largest contest hall and the third pokemon gym.
No direct route exists either, from Temperton to Rester's End
in the east // to the right. When trainers travel above ground
they always become lost and find their way back to their starting point.
The only passage is by underground tunnel, Kabucave,
where it is said kabuto roam.
Rester's End hosts Bistre's most underfunded pokemon gym.
Again to the east // to the right there is Trek 5 leading to Cloyster City.
Cloyster city has a pokemon gym, a contest hall,
and is like real-world Venice, in that you can only travel
by boat / water pokemon. Furthermore it has a park / marshland,
called Buzzer's Park (represented by a white / grey dot),
which can be enjoyed by all.
South / Below Cloyster City there is a waterway - trek, Trek 6,
which ends just before you reach Mediachres,
a town with a pokemon gym.
Further south / down you have Trek 7 leading to Sandiville,
with both a pokemon gym and a contest hall.
Then west / to the left Trek 8 leads to the Town of Glowing Nook,
it sits beneath a ledge of the mountain / inactive volcano.
It is home to the last pokemon gym, and offers access to
the depths of Arthax here as well as travel to its ice-capped top.
From here there are paid flights to either Dryleaf or the Pokemon League
which is located on a sheer rock spire just outside Dryleaf.

So you skipped that rambling.
From the bottom left travelling clockwise (and then the one in the middle), the towns are as follows:
Dryleaf
Poison Ridge
Tumbleweed Town
Steel Haven
Tempertown
Rester's End
Cloyster City
Mediachres
Sandiville
Glowing Nook

And the three white / grey dots from
the top right going clockwise represent:
Kabucave
Buzzer's Park
Arthax
