Pacing along the sand of the beach, Dakoia paused and considered the pounding surf. It was different from her own home -a tiny lake fed by a waterfall- and interesting in its wild splendor. Fish darted beneath the tumultuous surface, white-crested waves rushing upon the sand.
With a flair of her fins, the lioness shrugged to herself and leapt into the next rushing wave, diving smoothly beneath the surface. Whipping her tail like a rudder she arrowed after a school of rainbow-bright fish, laughing as they evaded her.
"Well, this is surely something..." She murmured to herself, wondering if there were others like her here. She'd only ever met her family -who were dead- and one lone water lioness... Perhaps here there would be more?

By Poseidon this felt nice. The cool water speeding past and against her hide as she swam beneath the waters surface. This would always put her at ease and wash away her concerns. That and fishing, which at the moment didn't sound too bad. She was getting rather hungry. Just as she was about to dive deeper, she felt vibrations within the water. Something had just entered.
Looking in the direction the vibrations came from, she saw legs. Quirking her head to the side, she brought herself to the surface to find another like her. Another water lioness. Was this real? "H...Hi." She wanted yell it out, but her timid nature only made her say it in a normal tone.

Darting after another fish and laughing a stream of bubbles, Dakoia came up sharply, staring at another aqualioness. She blinked a moment, then grinned.
"Hello." She said brightly. "I'm Dakoia, Guardian of StarShadowFalls... Its a long way from here..."
She flicked her fins and swam a little closer, tilting her head. "Do you live here?"

Sanctus giggled. She sure was cheerful and that just made her feel more comfortable around her. "I'm Sanctus Bona...but you can just call me Sanctus."
Looking around she smiled. "No, I don't live here. I actually tend to stick to small rivers but now that I'm big I suppose I should make this place my home. It's a beautiful place to be."

"Nice to meet you Sanctus..." Dakoia grinned, darting a circle around the lioness. She flipped upside down and fanned her fins, glancing around. "Seems awfully nice, just got here myself... Its a lot different from home..."
She rolled upright. "I couldn't really stay though.. My mate and children live on land... Do you have family?"

Sanctus sighed a bit. "Friends yes...family no. I haven't seen my friends in some time. I think that they may have moved on. Can't say I blame them. One was plagued by a demon so I can understand if he left and took his adopted daughter with him. I pray they are safe."

Dakoia tilted her head -a trick she'd learned from the birds- and listened to the intersting tale. "Well that's something I've never heard before..." She murmured, darting in a playful circle again.
"But then, I suppose its strange for us to exist at all, so any friends we make must be most unusual... I've seen lions with wings like birds and bats, soar through the skies... Lions race across the lands in the moonlight, lions light the plains on fire because of their manes and tails... This truly is a wondrous world..."
